Since many of those threats are caused by unauthorized access from the network, early detection of them is important as security measures. DoS attacks such as TCP SYN Flood [1] attack and smurf attack [2] waste network resources by sending a large number of packets to the victim and stop the victim's network service. The Flooding attack is relatively easy to detect since it has a characteristic of high rate with respect to the network band. In recent years, however, it has been pointed out that DoS attacks that use attack packets exposed to inadequate detection comparing to conventional methods existed [3]. A lowrate denial of service (LDoS) attack can degrade the quality of TCP communication with fewer attack traffic. LDoS attacks are those that exploit TCP retransmission time out (RTO) which is one of the network congestion control agent of TCP communication. An attack that transmits bursty traffi c with the same time interval of the minimum value of RTO causes instantaneous network congestion and packet losses. When a packet loss occurs, TCP communication performs congestion control, resulting in deterioration in quality such as throughput reduction. It has been proved diffi cult to detect them with the method developed for traditional DDoS attacks, since the attack is hard to distinguish from normal congestions [3,4]. LDoS attacks have a periodicity because bursty traffic transmitted at 1 second interval provides victims a great effect. Various methods have been proposed for detecting attacks by focusing on the periodicity. In Ref. [5], a method is proposed to apply an autocorrelation function to a periodic pulse sequence which includes attack traffic. In Ref. [6], a method is proposed to discriminate patterns of attack traffic from flow level traffic. Detection method by signal processing using the DSP technique has been proposed, and there are methods based on wavelet analysis [7,8] and methods based on multifractal characteristics of network traffi c [9]. In addition, a chaos-based approach [10] is proposed to detect LDoS attack by using the technology of weak signal detection. We have proposed a detection method using R/S pox legline characteristics [11] against long-term port scanning attacks with periodic features like LDoS attacks. The R/S pox leg-line characteristic is a feature value obtained from a graph called an R/S Pox Diagram which is used for estimating self-similarity of a time series. This feature value has superiority over the conventional method because it can quantify change of attack state such as attack-start and attack-end in addition to periodic component detection. The leg-line characteristic is quantifi ed from the slope of the characteristic plots which appears in the R/S Pox Diagram. Since the shape of the plot, from the viewpoint of a twodimensional image, is considered to have various i","PeriodicalId":14339,"journal":{"name":"International journal of the Society of Materials Engineering for Resources","volume":"116 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90533377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If this color mixing method is applied to display an image on a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), the color perceived by the viewer will be different from the colors being switched. In other words, the color of the image obtained by capturing the LCD screen will be different from the color perceived by the human eye because the screen copy key of the personal computer (PC) or the digital camera can capture the momentary display. Thus, the captured image will be identical to the image used for switching display. If we use this method to display images on an LCD display in a space such as a laboratory or offi ce, we can improve image protection and prevent illegal copying of images containing confi dential information, as shown in Figure 1 [1]. The authors have previously measured the chromaticity of the colors displayed when two different colors are switched on an LCD [2]. As a result, it became clear that the chromaticity of the colors displayed by switching (the color perceived by the viewer) equals the average of the two colors used for switching. Furthermore, a method for estimating the chromaticity of the colors displayed through the switching was proposed. This estimation method helps create an image with swapped colors by modifying the color of the original image. However, fl icker may occur when the two colors are switched. Looking at fl ickering images may have a negative infl uence on the Reduction Condition of Flicker during Switching of Two-colors for Protection of Image Displayed on a Liquid Crystal Display","PeriodicalId":14339,"journal":{"name":"International journal of the Society of Materials Engineering for Resources","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87719554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rice is a staple food and the amount of its production is about 9 million tons per year in Japan [1]. Rice hull is a non-edible part and has produced 1.9 million tons per year [2]. Among them, about 1.2 million tons have been utilized as fertilizer and soil conditioner. However, about 700 thousand tons are disposed of as agricultural waste. The rice hull silica carbon material (RHSC) is developed in order to utilize the rice hull to protect the global environment and promote recycling. The various basic physical properties have already been evaluated for the RHSC by this research group [3]. The RHSC is a porous carbon material utilizing natural porous structure originated from the rice hull. The RHSC is manufactured by impregnating a phenol resin with rice hull, and carbonizing it in a nitrogen gas atmosphere [4, 5]. The raw rice hull contains about 20 mass% of inorganic constituent and 80 mass% of the organic constituent. Among them, about 95 mass% of the inorganic constituent is silica. Therefore, the RHSC is material with high water resistant [6] and seawater resistant [7, 8]. Moreover, the RHSC, which has excellent low friction and abrasion resistant under unlubricated conditions [6], is expected to be used as sliding materials such as the linear slide rail in future. Generally, structures and machine elements are subjected to cyclic loads. Since fatigue failure caused by cyclic load often brings disaster, evaluation of fatigue strength is important. However, obtaining the strength experimentally is required several weeks. Therefore, simulation method of fatigue strength is useful for machine designer. Murakami has derived [9] a fatigue strength evaluation formula for metallic materials which is based on material hardness and defect size. The fatigue strength simulation method for steel gears adopting Murakami’s formula was proposed by one of the authors [10]. The dispersion of fatigue strength is also estimated by the simulation method. There is a similarity between the RHSC and metallic materials in the viewpoint of defect including materials. In this study, fatigue strength simulation for the RHSC test piece was carried out.","PeriodicalId":14339,"journal":{"name":"International journal of the Society of Materials Engineering for Resources","volume":"86 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84003016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Draft genome sequencing revealed putative genes encoding nine cellulases and one xyloglucanase dispersed on the chromosome. All these genes were isolated and rearranged on a chromosome-integration vector for streptomycetes pTYM19 to construct cellulase-expression plasmids pBOM51 and pBOM66 for streptomycete host strains. The cellulase gene cluster on pBOM66 was further introduced into pTYM18, another Streptomyces integration vector, to yield pBOM67. To investigate cellulase secretion and antibiotic production, the resulting plasmids were introduced into Streptomyces avermitilis K139, the producer of avermectin and oligomycin. Remarkable cellulose-degrading activity for fi lter paper was observed by pBOM66-carrying transformants. Oligomycin alone was produced by the transformed strain with pBOM67 only when cultivated in a medium containing glucose: not in a medium containing microcrystalline cellulose as a carbon source. Using antibiotic-producing streptomycetes for antibiotic production from cellulosic biomass therefore appears to be infeasible, even when transformed with cellulase genes of Streptomyces origin.","PeriodicalId":14339,"journal":{"name":"International journal of the Society of Materials Engineering for Resources","volume":"305 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77111868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the advancement of nano materials, its use as filler has provided greater advantage to achieve required electrical, thermal and mechanical properties [1, 2]. Carbon nanotubes (CNT) and graphene have good application to use as an electric fi eld grading material [3]. Recently, MoS2 material is gaining popularity because of its inherent characteristics of high band gap which will not impart electrical conductivity and the world over researchers have indicated that addition of it as filler content can enhance mechanical and thermal properties of the material [4]. In power apparatus, surface discharge activity is one of the mechanisms by which the solid insulation fails. The surface resistivity and hydrophobicity of the material play an important role on life of insulating material. The surface charge accumulation can enhance the tangential electric field, leading to surface discharge activity and poor hydrophobicity of the material, which lead to thinning of water droplet causing inception of corona activity near the water droplet edge. The characteristic variation in degradation of insulating material occurs due to enhancement of local electric fi eld and hence it has become important to ensure the surface free from charge accumulation/electric field enhancement in the insulating material. Conventionally, the inorganic fillers, namely, silicon carbide material is used as a fi ller material in epoxy resin, which can relieve the accumulated charge, because of its semiconducting properties. In recent times, the molybdenum di-sulphide material, is gaining importance because of its inherent material properties and can be alternative material because of its semi-conductive nature [5]. Under normal operating conditions, the insulating material may expose to electrical discharges due to surface discharges or degradation of insulating materials due to corona activity. These discharges in turn can cause degradation of the insulating material over a period thereby alternating the fundamental properties of insulating material thereby reducing the life of the equipment [6]. Therefore, there is a strong need for developing electrical insulating materials possessing good discharge resistant characteristics. Recently, CIGRE working group has indicated development of non-standard materials for improved performance [7]. Epoxy resin with silicon carbide reinforcement exhibits good partial discharge resistance characteristics [8]. In the electric power sector, it is generally utilized as stress grading substance for high voltage electrical machines [9, 10]. Many studies have reported the use of non-linear dielectrics in power apparatus operating at normal ambient temperatures [11]. A major problem with insulating material is moisture condensation forming water droplet. The advantages of extractant impregnated resin (EIR) were wide choice of reagents of desired selectivity, easy preparation, and easy to operate etc. [1]. EIR technology synergistically combines the advantages of both extraction and adsorption [2]. The concept of EIRs is based on the incorporation of extractants with selective extractability for metal species into a porous polymer by physical impregnation [2,3]. Thiocarbamoylbased extractants are used as a versatile and selective extraction of transition metal ions [2]. In our previous study, solvent extraction of PGM from leach liquors of automotive catalyst using 2,2′ thiobis[4-t-butylphenol] and their thiocarbamoyl derivative 1,1-bis[(dimethylthiocarbamoyl)oxy]-2,2′ -thiobis-[4-t-butylbenzene] (2) was evaluated [4]. It was shown that thiocarbamoylbased extractants, 4-t-butyl -(dimethylthiocarbamoyloxy)benzene (1) and 2, dissolved in CHCl3 have an intrinsic selectivity for Pd(II) extraction [4]. However, the practical use of thiocarbamolylbased extractants and other supramolecular extractants in solvent extraction is still limited because of their insolubility in the hydrocarbon diluents for practical applications [5-7]. Amberlite XAD-7 (XAD) is a polyacrylic acid ester resin with good chemical stability, high porosity, uniform pore size, high surface area, and a non-ionic structure [2]. Hence, we have developed green hydrometallurgical processes based on thiocarbamoyl possessing extractants impregnated on amberlite XAD-7 and used as an adsorbent for selective separation and recovery of Pd(II) from PGM solutions.","PeriodicalId":14339,"journal":{"name":"International journal of the Society of Materials Engineering for Resources","volume":"51 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85787040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focused specifically on color and texture information from those images, and proposed a method for classifying vegetation with a support vector machine, which is a pattern recognition model. However, the color features of the turf and the harmful vegetation, Fallopia japonica, were roughly the same when calculated during the same season across different years. Distinguishing images based on the acquired seasons should enable high-precision classi fi cation. Thus, in this study, we develop a learning data generation method that can classify new data. Speci fi cally, we categorize the learning data by month and determine parameters for the appropriate unlearned data.
