This study used a descriptive qualitative approach because this approach is relevant to be used to gain an in-depth understanding of prayer workshop and the Koran laboratory. The method is used in collecting data are observation, interviews and documentation. The purpose of this study was to find out: (1) the steps is taken by the head of MAN 2 Pamekasan in improving student competence through prayer workshop and al-Qur'an laboratory development; (2) the role of the teacher in improving student competence through prayer workshop and al-Qur'an laboratory development in MAN 2 Pamekasan; and (3) supporting factors and in improving student competence. This reality must be realized by Muslims and more specifically those involved in the world of education. For this reason, there is an anticipatory and alternative tactical and strategic step to free themselves from the hegemonic grip of Western globalization. The conception of Islamic model education does not only see education as an attempt to \"educate\" only (intellectual education, intelligence), but in line with the Islamic concept of human beings and their essence of existence. Therefore, the formulation of the vision, mission and objectives of Islamic education is expected to be more problematic, strategic, anticipatory, touch the application aspects and can touch the needs of the community or use of graduates. Integration of religion and general science is an effort to merge polarism between the science of religion and science which results from the mindset between religious sciences as an independent source of truth and science as an independent source. The concept of integration of religious science and general science in INSTIKA is inseparable from the basic values (qiyamusiaanyah) that are embedded in every step and educational activity carried out in it. The Islamic Institute of Annuqayah cults itself as a campus of manners, manners are an acronym for Takwa, Tafaqquh, Khidmah and rahmatan lil alamin. It has implications for the nature of individual guidance and counseling to help individuals for develop human nature by empowering faith, reason, dan willingness who has given by God so that individuals can develop properly and firmly as God guides. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach and data collected by interview, observation and documentation. Findings data were analyzed using conten analysis techneques. In the Qur'an it is very clear, the Qur'an as a way of life for Muslims has taught and illustrated how character education must be taught to children as the main and fundamental provision in living life in the world. To be able to understand how character education is, then we can use the Bayani method which includes: identification of the Qur'an which will be studied, identification of the related texts, and understanding texts in a textual and contextual manner. . By using the Bayani method, character education according to Surah Lukman: 13-19, as follows: train and familiarize loyalty, respect, gratitude, critical, curiosity, friendliness, responsibility, discipline, courage, patience, caring for others, not arrogant, modest life, and manners.
