The proposed approach consists of three main steps: appearance-based feature extraction, data projection on manifold space, and similarity estimation for person re-identification. We first decompose the human image into a grid of patches and characterize each patch by a colorimetric feature vector. These patches are then embedded into a non-linear manifold, which preserves the local and global proximity among data points. Finally, a matching framework is introduced to estimate the similarity of image pairs and to make the final decision of re-identification. The performance of our system is evaluated on the well-known VIPeR dataset. The experimental results show that the proposed system leads to satisfactory results.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133326360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This proposed model is based on the combination between the asymptotic method Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) and a Ray-Tracing (RT) technique. We have conducted some comparisons with the 33-37GHz indoor measurements in the anechoic chamber of School of Electrical Engineering (IU, VNU-HCMC) conducive to validate the model. The validated scenarios are composed of two metallic plates representing walls only and then a 4-in-1 corner reflector bestowed between them. Two identical broadband BBHA9170 antennas are used as transmitter and receiver in order to represent the bistatic configuration. These comparisons have shown that the model gives a good agreement with the experimental results. At the end, we apply the model to synthesize data for evaluating SAR imaging algorithms with the above configurations.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130549902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most of medical images have blur combined with noise. There are many reasons to create blur combined with noise in medical images such as the environment, capture device, technician's skills, etc. This problem will affect the process diagnose. In this paper, we proposed a new method to improve the quality of medical images. The proposed method uses cycle spinning combined with Kernels set in shearlet domain. Our algorithm removes the noise and blur details in shearlet domain, and must not the value of point-spread function (PSF). The proposed algorithm not only significantly improves the edge accuracy, but also reduces the loss of information in medical image.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126965320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, we firstly propose power allocation for unlicensed transmitters to meet power constraints and account for erroneous channel information and licensed users' interference. Then, we propose an exact closed-form outage probability formula for the unlicensed network to quickly provide useful insights into system performance. Various results demonstrate error floor in the unlicensed network, performance trade-off between the unlicensed network and the licensed network, substantial system performance degradation owing to erroneous channel information and licensed users' interference, and considerable performance enhancement due to the increase in the number of relays.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123843211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this algorithm is to determine if inspected tablets have the same imprinted symbol as a reference tablet or not. The algorithm consists of two phases namely neural network training phase and imprinted tablet recognition phase. In the neural network training phase, firstly blister images are captured by a CCD camera. The blister image is partitioned into separate tablet images. A set of sample tablet images with the same imprinted symbols are chosen. Imprinted symbol in the sample tablet is filtered out using image processing operations. The sample tablets are then rotated to be aligned with a reference tablet using polar transform. Next imprinted symbol features which are the total number of white pixels in a rectangle window are extracted to train neural networks. In imprinted tablet recognition phase, the inspected tablet image is first rotated to be aligned with the reference image, then features of the image are extracted and fed to the inputs of the trained neural networks. The output of the trained neural network allows to determine if the inspected table has the same imprinted symbol as the reference tablet or not. Experimental result shows that the proposed algorithm can recognize imprinted tablet accurately, the result is robust to uncertainties such as tablet rotation and lighting condition.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128792558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimized design has compact size and covers all the bandwidth for global UHF RFID (860MHz-960MHz). For flexible customization in real-world applications, an equivalent model of antenna geometry is also proposed in this work. The agreement between equivalent model with lumped elements and 3D EM simulation of antenna geometry in 2 different simulator (ADS and CST Microwave Studio) proves the feasibility of design in practical applications. Furthermore, we executed also the optimization of antenna thickness in order to reduce the price of commercial tags. From experimental results, the good agreement between simulation and measurement proves the feasibility of equivalent model and the repeatability of fabrication process. The optimized design has the acceptable read-range (over 8m) in all the bandwidth of global UHF RFID and optimized thickness for antenna should be between 5-μm and 6-μm to keep the good performance of fabricated RFID tags.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126476093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, antennas are designed to achieve multi-frequency use. In the case of expanding multi-frequency range, conventional equal element spacing configuration shows a defect of producing grating lobes. In order to suppress grating lobes, unequal element spacing is promising. In this paper, a radiation pattern synthesis based on a least mean square method (LMS) is applied to unequally spaced array configurations. In frequencies of 900 MHz, 1.5 GHz, 2.0 GHz, and 2.5 GHz, calculated results are presented. Suppression of grating lobes and increase of antenna gain are shown. Also, simulation results by FEKO using electric point source and dipole as array elements are shown to confirm accuracy of this method.","PeriodicalId":142783,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131477173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
