The Basic Design course is the basic tool in the realization of the design practice as an action that develops creativity and problem solving skills. Aim: The aim of this course is to develop the skills of analysing the given problem and developing creative thinking skills in order to realize the design action, to produce a form through different methods and to reach a unique concrete result. In this context, it is aimed to reveal the design process that starts with tangible or intangible source of inspiration and reaches a creative concrete design product. Method: From this point of view, we analysed the final works of Artvin Çoruh University Faculty of Art and Design Department of Landscape Architecture students created by iconic and analogical methods, by using DOMINANCE -UNITY and BALANCE principles one of the basic design principles explained to the students within the scope of Basic Design-I course. Results: As a result, at the end of the semester, it was observed that most of the students were successful in the course, and it was understood that the product they produced increased their motivation to research, questioning, problem solving and producing original products via questionnaire. Conclusion: It is thought that the iconic and analogical methods used in this study in the form generation process contribute to the students' production of original designs, and these methods will also be useful in revealing original designs in all design-related courses, especially in project courses.","PeriodicalId":142407,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL REFEREED JOURNAL OF DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133516792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this process, many computational design methods have been developed that play an important role in contemporary design practices and guide the change of design culture in recent years. The top aim in this study presented; It is the evaluation of the methods developed in the field of computational design through the life cycle model. Method: At the point of investigating the spread and usage of the design methods included in the study within the sample area, bibliometric analysis, and content analysis methods, which are used to evaluate scientific studies, was used to draw repeatable and valid results regarding the content of the examined text. Results: The study shows that the most published design methods in the computational design are simulation-based design, structure information modeling, shape grammars, and genetic algorithms, respectively. In addition, it is determined that the most preferred international congress in this field is eCAADe. According to the evaluation of the total number of publications in this field, the contribution of Turkish researchers to the field was found to be 3%. Conclusion: This study evaluated when the upper scale, which are related to computational design methods in Turkey, we can conclude that there is insufficient scientific studies. In order to be able to use the rapidly developing computational design tools more effectively, to improve the computational design ability and to reflect the education process in the design process, it is important to have a voice in the architecture of the future.","PeriodicalId":142407,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL REFEREED JOURNAL OF DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114664080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purpose: The hypothesis of the study; although tall buildings are often criticized as monotonous and simple glass boxes, it is on the idea that buildings have a high variety and richness of detail when measured numerically. Method: In this direction, eight architectural periods were determined for tall buildings and fractal analyzes were carried out on five well-known structures belonging to each period. Results: All evaluated structures had low fractal values in terms of silhouette variable (DS) and high fractal values in terms of form+ornament+material variable (DFOM). The period with the lowest value in terms of facade detail is the International Period, while the period with the highest value is the Free Form Period. In terms of the detail of the building silhouette, the Technological Period stands out. Conclusion: Contrary to popular belief, tall buildings are rather complex and diverse structures, rather than monotonous and uniform glass boxes. Tall building designs will continue to be important in the future as more complex and diverse structures.","PeriodicalId":142407,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL REFEREED JOURNAL OF DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123606942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: The temporal changes of the user experience have been tried to be determined through the V60 product, which is one of the coffee equipments. In the first stage, the interview method was used to detect deep information and unobservable situations, and in the second stage, the design probe method which is used to collect instant data in long-term experience research, was used. Findings: The temporal variation of the user experience was evaluated in 4 stages. These; pre-experience period, exploration period, familiarity period and assimilation period. When the change of hedonic and pragmatic approaches over time is examined, pragmatic adjectives were found to have higher density than hedonic adjectives. Conclusion: In hedonic approches; practical use, dominance and product feeling are positive, the expectations and feelings about the service, security and action process are negative sub-factors that explain the reasons for the changes. In pragmatic approaches; product capacity, practical use and dominance factors positively; service, ergonomics, action process and dominance emerged as sub-factors explaining the reasons for the negative changes.","PeriodicalId":142407,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL REFEREED JOURNAL OF DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129883240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
