The article presents the parametrisation-based methods of monitoring of the process of gravitational silo discharging with aid of capacitance tomography techniques. Proposed methods cover probabilistic Bayes’ modelling, including spatial and temporal analysis and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods as well as process parametrisation with artificial neural networks. In contrast to classical image reconstruction-based methods, parametric modelling allows to omit this stage as well as abandon the associated reconstruction errors. Parametric modelling enables the direct analysis of significant parameters of investigated process that in turn results in easier incorporation into the control feedback loop. Presented examples are given for the gravitational flow of bulk solids in silos.","PeriodicalId":142227,"journal":{"name":"Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environment Protection","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121827196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, there were implemented methods to analyze and segmentation medical images by using topological, statistical algorithms and artificial intelligence techniques. The solution shows the architecture of the system collecting and analyzing data. There was tried to develop an algorithm for level set method (LSM) applied to piecewise constant image segmentation. These algorithms are needed to identify arbitrary number of phases for the segmentation problem. The image segmentation refers to the process of partitioning a digital image into multiple regions. There is typically used to locate objects and boundaries in images. There was also shown an algorithm for analyzing medical images using a neural network MLP.","PeriodicalId":142227,"journal":{"name":"Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environment Protection","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129622671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Gas electron multiplier (GEM) detector with single foil was developed. Soft X-ray spectra with an energy of 5.9 keV emitted by the isotope Fe-55 were measured. On this basis, the dependence of gain and energy resolution from the detector voltage was determined. The simple theory of gain dependence on various detector parameters was developed. Preliminary results of the study confirmed the potential usefulness of the GEM detector as a substitute for the multiwire proportional chamber.","PeriodicalId":142227,"journal":{"name":"Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environment Protection","volume":"14 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128161026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper presents application of fractional calculus for modelling of two-phase gas/liquid flows in a test rig. The installation consists of three horizontal and vertical measuring segments with different diameters, which allow to investigate flows in a wide range of parameters. Flow components supply is measured/controlled by NI PXI system and a set of flow meters/controllers. The paper presents model of the two-phase flow in the above described installation, which leads to precise and accurate flow mathematical model. The main goal of the flow model is to describe steady flow parameters, especially the flow fractions, or type of the flow. The model describes flows more accurately, that classical second order system model.","PeriodicalId":142227,"journal":{"name":"Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environment Protection","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114497480","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Electrical capacitance tomography is an innovative method for visualization of industrial processes. One of its main advantages is it’s high time resolution that allows to the usage of ECT in systems with high volatility. In recent years there has been significant development of electrical capacitance tomography 3D, which however, has significantly reduced industrial it’s applications due to the complicated process of image reconstruction. The authors propose the use of multi-node, multi-GPU system to accelerate the process of image reconstruction in ECT 3D.","PeriodicalId":142227,"journal":{"name":"Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environment Protection","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128512324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of them is undersea exploration of oil in the petroleum industry. The submitted paper presents application of DECART tomograph designed and built in Lodz University of Technology together with combined measurements of signals acquired from gamma ray measurement system. Use of all measuring modalities allowed for performing measurements of a flow composed of sea water, oil and gas. The paper presents theoretical principles applied to design multimodality tomograph and results of experiments performed in the University of Bergen. Measurement confirmed that multi-modality approach allows giving fast and reliable on-line results of measurements of composition of multi-phase flow. Applied algorithms allowed to speed up on-line measurements and presenting results in a form required in industrial applications. The derived conclusions can be used as guidelines for preparation of industrial applicable construction of tomograph.","PeriodicalId":142227,"journal":{"name":"Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environment Protection","volume":"2012 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128066915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
