For both sexes, the percentage classified as “robust” on the sarcopenia diagnostic criteria was lower in “old” than in “new” classification. The “sarcopenia” category comprised 2% of females only, but none of them had “severe sarcopenia”. The proportion of participants with “presarcopenia” (old classification) was 19-38%, and that with “possible sarcopenia” (new classification) was 2% for females only. A higher proportion of healthy young adults were classified as “robust” in “new” compared to “old” because "presarcopenia" was eliminated in “new”. Moreover, since the proportion of low muscle mass exists in one-fifth of males and one-third of females, it would be difficult to use the new criteria to promote muscle mass gains and prevent from a young age to care for the future.

Initially, COVID-19 was considered a respiratory illness, but later on, it was found out that this disease can affect many organ systems. Cardiovascular manifestations of this disease include myocarditis, heart failure, myocardial infarction, and thromboembolism. Myocarditis related to COVID-19 is thought to be due to the direct viral injury and host immune response. The cases of myocarditis after the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine have been reported in the literature as well. COVID-19 myocarditis can present as chest pain, shortness of breath, acute heart failure, arrhythmia, and possibly death. The initial workup should include an electrocardiogram (ECG) and troponins if myocarditis is suspected.\u0000Further screening should be done if troponins are elevated, or the patient has ECG changes concerning myocardial damage. Noninvasive imaging that helps to diagnose COVID-19 myocarditis includes echocardiograms, computerized tomographic (CT) with contrast, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). An endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) can be performed if the diagnosis remains unclear. Initial treatment of COVID-19 myocarditis is mainly supportive, and intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and corticosteroid may be effective, particularly in fulminant myocarditis. If the patient develops life-threatening arrhythmias or shock, advanced mechanical support is required. Early intervention is a critical factor in decreasing morbidity and mortality. Further research is needed to determine the efficacy of different treatment modalities, including IVIG and corticosteroids, in patients with COVID-19 myocarditis.

The research relates to a stent that improves air flow in the "windpipe" or "trachea tract" by limiting the amount of surface area covered by the stent, allowing cilia to function normally. Furthermore, the stent decreases mucus collection and tissue granulation within the stent, which has improved anti-migration properties due to flare ends, is suited for custom size, and reduces the risk of airway perforation and erosion. We report a case of 63-year-old male who was diagnosed with sporadic monosomy 7 MDS/AML who achieved good response to treatment with CPX-351 (Vyxeos) induction chemotherapy.\u0000Case information: A 63-year-old male initially presented to the ED for further evaluation of pancytopenia that was discovered incidentally during a routine office visit. Further evaluation revealed his blast count was elevated with presence of Auer rods, myelocytes and basophilia. He was admitted for further work-up of pancytopenia with suspicion being for MDS/AML and bone marrow biopsy for flow cytometric evaluation of the bone marrow was strongly suggestive of acute myeloid leukemia, with morphology suggesting a predisposing MDS. Subsequent molecular cytogenetic [FISH] report confirmed -7/7q abnormality in 80% of nuclei with loss of 1 copy of chromosome 7. The following week, patient was initiated on CPX–351 [Vyxeos; daunorubicin and cytarabine liposome for injection]. Bone marrow biopsy following induction chemotherapy showed 11 to 12% of CD34 positive myeloid blasts with abnormal myeloid maturation, representing notable improvement with greater than 50% reduction in his blast count.\u0000Conclusion: Sporadic monosomy 7 MDS/AML that arises without evidence of germline genetic predisposition and in the absence of other predisposing medical conditions or treatments is an uncommon subset of AML. Vyxeos induction chemotherapy may be an excellent option in the management of sporadic monosomy 7 MDS/AML.

Salts which show ‘salt in’ of non-electrolytes are called “hydrotropic salts” and the phenomenon is known as “hydrotropism. There are about 45,000 plant species in India, with concentrated hotspots in the region of Eastern Himalayas. Entire plants of Barleriaprionitis L. collected from Shrinathji Institute of pharmacy, Nathdwara and the plant was authenticated by Dr. R.L. Bhardwaj. The leaves of Barleria Prionitis L plant was characterized by its morphological features like colour, shape, size and surface characteristics has been studies. The plant materials (1 kg) were initially defatted with petroleum ether and then extracted with blends RP-1 to RP-6 using a Soxhlet apparatus. The yield of the plant extracts measured about 20 g each after evaporating the solvent using water bath. As per result of HPTLC, we found that the hydrotropic blends solution aur ecoferindly and cost effective method for the extraction purpose.
