This study aimed to examine effect of training of growth monitoring period to reduce parenting stress and improving the level of satisfaction of mothers' parenting. Study's population included mothers of children 1 to 4 years old that in the form of available sample were selected to participate in training. 93 mothers were included in the intervention group for training and 57 mothers were included in the control group in form of quasi-experimental design. Parenting stress scale and parental satisfaction scale were used to collect data. Results showed the training of monitoring period decreased parenting stress levels and increased parenting satisfaction (t=15.29, p=0.001). This training reduces the parent – child dysfunctional interaction, parental distress, and problematic child characteristic. It seems to help mothers during child-rearing and provide the necessary information to them about the child and their natural features and modification of mothers' false beliefs and knowledge in this field can be used for the protective role of mothers and their children in the face of stress, and facilitate the process of parenting.","PeriodicalId":14122,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Research and Health Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75883693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People with depression, anxiety disorder and depression are susceptible to abusive behaviors, therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of group behavioral activation on depression, anxiety and stress in adjustment disorders by using a single case design. Three chronic patients who met DSM-5 criteria for adjustment disorders were treated according to the treatment manual of group behavioral activation therapy. The treatment outcome was measured before, during and after the treatment using depression anxiety stress scales. The results revealed this treatment in reducing the symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress was effective. The baseline scores of depression, anxiety, and stress in the first patient were 24.73, 17.54, and 28.70, respectively; the improvement rate in each of the subscales was 62%, 71% and 63%, and the overall improvement in the three subscales was 65%. For the second patient, the baseline scores of depression, anxiety, and stress were 27.73, 17.37, and 29.01, respectively; the improvement rate in each of the subscales was 54%, 68% and 59%, and the overall improvement in the three subscales was 60%. The improvement rate of the third patient was higher than that of the first and the second patients. The improvement rate in depression, anxiety, and stress was 61%, 60% and 67%, and the overall improvement in the three subscales was 63%. The overall improvement of the research variables was 62%. The results of these three patients indicated that the clinical effect of group behavioral activation therapy in treating the symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress in patients with adjustment disorder and marital problems.","PeriodicalId":14122,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Research and Health Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81734060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to survey effect of music upon patients’ physiological parameters following open heart surgery. A quasi-experimental study was performed on 60 patients under open heart surgery referred to intensive care unit. Patients were randomly divided into two groups including experimental and control groups. Patients in experimental group listened to non verbal music for 30 minutes after surgery by headphones. The control group did not receive any intervention. Before and after intervention, physiological parameters was measured in two groups. A significant difference was demonstrated in pulse rate, systolic blood pressure and oxygen saturation of experimental group’s patients. But there was no significant difference in respiratory rate and diastolic blood pressure. As for music would reduce some of the physiological parameters, and have some advantages, it could be suggested to use for controlling physiological parameters following surgery.","PeriodicalId":14122,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Research and Health Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74299411","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to assess the satisfaction with life in parents based on parental myths of Iranian parents. To examine the parental myths, two questionnaires of Seidi's parenting myth with 69 questions and Kansas family life satisfaction with 4 items were used. Inferential statistics (multivariate regression) were used to analyze the data. The results showed that there wasa significant relationship between parenting myths and life satisfaction. In the best-ofbreed prediction model for satisfying the lives of parents, the excessively calm parenting, efficacy, and pre-marriage-behavioral myths were able to predict the criterion variable. Excessively calm parenting myth contributed mostly to life satisfaction. The myth of pre-marriage-behavioral was also a negative predictor of life satisfaction. In sum, the results of this study showed that although parental myths seem to cause physical fatigue inIranian parents, in Iranian society, the level of satisfaction with life was high despite the efforts to improve the effective education of children.","PeriodicalId":14122,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Research and Health Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78015158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies show that more than 60 percent of bank employees have been directly or indirectly involved in many factors, such as personal characteristics, conditions and workstations, stress and repetitive movements. The aim of this study was to evaluate the RULA and OCRA methods of risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders in the bank staff. This study was carried out in order to assess the physical status of 80 the bank employees using two methods: RULA and OCRA. According to the results, the average score RULA and OCRA are 4.13±1.14 and 0.300±0.088, respectively. Statistically significant t tests show differences between RULA and OCRA assessment methods. The RULA scores for the three age groups were also not significantly different, as they also apply to the OCRA score. Though, there are similarities between the two methods especially in assessment of repetitive motion in upper limb, but OCRA method propose as appropriate method to MSDs risk evaluate, so is not recommended to use two method instead of each other.","PeriodicalId":14122,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Research and Health Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89411722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it can have mediating role in relation to the effect of gender on substance use. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of resilience and tendency to addiction regarding the effect of gender on substance use. 300 university students (124 males and 176 females) were chosen by the convenience sampling method and they were evaluated by the resilience scale, the tendency to addiction questionnaire, and a researcher-made questionnaire about substance use. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between the tendency to addiction and substance use; there was a significant negative correlation between the tendency to addiction and resilience; there was a negative relationship between male gender and resilience; and there was a significant positive relationship between male gender and tendency to addiction. In addition, the proposed model fitted the data. Resilience has an important role in the prevention of substance use and those with high scores on resilience, despite a tendency to addiction, are less prone to substance use because of the ability to deal with difficult situations and flexible response to the pressures of daily life.","PeriodicalId":14122,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Research and Health Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83654348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
