Security engineers have a harder time than ever to score the risk their organization is exposed to. Performing this classification using human agents is usually slow and costly, thus motivating the need for automation. One of the areas that can benefit from an automatized process includes online health-care platforms that connect people to doctors remotely. This type of platform usually offers an asynchronous messaging service, and can receive up to hundreds or thousands of medical questions every day. The questions need to be assigned to the appropriate specialists in a timely manner. This paper offers an automatic solution to this problem. Its purpose is to address the issue of mapping natural language texts to medical specialties. Two solutions are proposed and compared, one based on the Naive Bayes classifier and the other on a Linear classifier implemented using TensorFlow. The former obtains an accuracy of over 95% for 23% of the questions while the latter obtains the same accuracy for 60% of the questions. From one day to another, from kindergartens to universities, everyone involved in education has struggled to keep it going despite all the difficulties and restrictions. In our department, we coordinate two study programs in Computer Science (bachelor and master level). More than a year ago, we started to use the Discord communication platform to keep in touch in real time with our students and alumni. Our initial goal has been to create a strong ever growing community, in which our students, their former colleagues, and faculty can communicate easily. When the lockdown started, it was obvious that continuing to build and expand this community was the way to go. The last semester and the current one, we have been using Discord enhanced by a set of in-house developed scripts to communicate with the students, to keep going with both lectures and laboratories, according to the schedule, to have both the semester and the graduation exams, and so on. Even though the use of distributed ledger technology in the energy domain is promising, the development of decentralized smart grid management solutions is in the early stages. In this paper, we define a layered architecture of a blockchain-based smart grid management platform featuring energy data metering and tamper-proof registration, business enforcement via smart contracts, and Oracle-based integration of high computational services supporting the implementation of future grid management scenarios. Platforms' design supports diverse motivations of use, but specific options incentivize some behaviors more than others. Also, users' expectations of intimacy are driven by a commercial technological product primarily designed for profit. The emotional investment of users is considerable if we are to ponder the vast and complicated realm of love and dating. This paper discusses the social impact of digital dating platforms with a case study of Tinder app, through an analysis of its business model and designed user incentives. It is widely used in industries such as petrochemical, electricity distribution, and water treatment. The protocol lacks built-in security features, making it an attractive target for attackers. Securing Modbus-based networks requires tools for packet logging, analysis, and realtime monitoring. A novel solution is described, which is fully compatible with the standard Modbus variants (TCP, RTU) and supports most deployment scenarios. This is why there is an intensive effort in the industry to move object detection processing on the edge, with the benefits of reducing the bandwidth needs and allowing for scalability in large networks. In this paper we present a hardware friendly optimization technique to compute Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) on the edge, by approximating the HOG orientation as a multitude of small bins. The technique is implemented in RTL for FPGA or ASIC and serves as the first step in a standard object detection algorithm (using Histogram of Oriented Gradients as feature extractor and Support Vector Machine as the detection algorithm). In case of fields like finance, where data privacy is a priority, encryption techniques are analyzed to offer certainty to the customers. A solution for this problem may be searchable encryption, a concept that permits encrypting data locally, moving it to a remote server and then performing operations directly on the ciphertext without decryption.
