Definition and function of fatty acids, triglycerides, phospholipids, cholesterol, chylomicron, VLDL, LDL, HDL, IDL and Lp (a) are described. Both exogenous and endogenous cycles of lipids and their metabolic pathways are presented and the roles of both lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase are included for means of better understanding. The major cardiovascular risk that LDL cholesterol represents is outlined as well as its atherogenic role. During the COVID 19 pandemic there are alterations in the lipid profile that worsen the risk. There is the decrease in HDL and LDL cholesterol fractions acutely during the infection, pointing out that the main deleterious effects are due to lipid changes mainly to HDL cholesterol diminution. As seen in the HDL’s role description, its protagonism in the reverse transport of cholesterol from the periphery to the liver, HDL particles have affinity for binding and neutralization of pathogen associated lipids that mediate the excessive immune reaction in sepsis. It is important to emphasize its already mentioned function in immunomodulation, antithrombosis and antioxidation, that are diminished with its lowering. Also lipoprotein lipase activity is lessened and thus VLDL particles and consequently triglycerides are increased. COVID 19 added to chronic kidney disease present repercussions and higher detrimental effects, not to mention its causative action in acute kidney disease. Lipoprotein metabolic changes can signalize to COVID 19 aetiology in kidney diseases.","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80995983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is aimed to examine the effectiveness of the anger control/control program applied to primary school students. Method: The results of studies evaluating the psychological effects of anger control programs applied to adolescents in the review are presented within the framework of a plan. Results: When the national and international literature on the subject is examined; There is a positive relationship between anger and aggression, male, considering the attitude of parents as oppressive-authoritarian and indifferent, and the anger and aggression score of students exposed to domestic violence is higher than others. The psychological counseling intervention program with the event-based group aimed at reducing anger and aggression in adolescents is the fourth-degree in the study. and 5. In its experimental study based on the experimental and control group pre-test post-test model, which students conducted to examine their aggressiveness levels and the levels of aggression in some variables, it was found that students in the experiment group at the end of 8 sessions of education had a significant decrease in aggression levels compared to students in the control group, while the levels of aggression of students showed no significant difference in age and class variables, while the gender variable did not show a significant difference. Another study of students with behavioral/emotional disorders found that at the end of the anger control program, students exhibit edit more social behavior (positive/impartial verbal and verbal behavior) towards their teachers, less negative behavior and tend less aggression during monitoring than their other peers. Conclusions: Anger control/control programs provide positive effects, such as students understanding the relationship between anger and aggression, anger control, increased positive behavior towards their teachers/peers, decreased aggressive behavior, anger control and development of their ability to use positive coping methods.","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86987404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experiences from the framework of community psychiatry in the late fifties and early sixties are the first attempts to advance this line helping to build a community mental health model.8 The community mental health model recognizes and intends to address the needs of this population with a comprehensive approach recognizing the impact that has mental illness severe and persistent in the person, his family and environment as well as considering how this environment contributes to rehabilitation and inclusion providing conditions conducive to the full exercise of rights and welfare socioemotional.9 In line with the challenges posed by mental health model community, the National Mental Health Plan 20172025 seeks to implement improvements in mental health. Proposes a reorganization of integrated services to the general health system ordered levels, with specialized resources, diversified, decentralized and regionalised. It recognizes the need for complex connections with non-health structures for the comprehensive and satisfactory care for people with mental disorders by MINSAL.","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91183269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: an observational, descriptive study was carried out, taking the data collected through the XLS files for notification of the \"Gender Violence\" event, reported to SIVIGILA. During the period under investigation. Results: Non-sexual violence is the form of violence to which women are most exposed, with 76.81% of cases, being more than 3 times greater than the form of sexual violence. Women are more likely to endure physical violence, 8,432 cases and psychological violence, 4,006 cases. In 80.26% of cases of gender violence against women, the aggressor is a man, and it is probable that the victim has some kind of family relationship with the aggressor; possibly being his partner, 7,137 cases or ex-partner, 3,264 cases. Conclusion: in the department of Huila, women between 10 to 39 years old are more likely to suffer physical, sexual and psychological violence; men being the main aggressors and in most cases the sentimental partners of the victims. The most used mechanisms to inflict damage by the aggressors are short-blunt and sharp objects.","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"96 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76732796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The educational actions require methodologies that evaluate scientific knowledge and behaviours related to health. The aims of this study were to propose standards of evaluation to theoretical and practical knowledge about male anatomy, preventive attitudes, and cancer screening methods we applied questionnaires to verify knowledge about pelvic anatomy and prostate cancer issues. We use an anatomical model to analyse practical knowledge. Our results show that part of the men does not know important male anatomy concepts. We found that 68% was unaware of the relationship between the prostate and the urethra and 74% was unaware of prostate and rectum correlation. However men who had satisfactory theoretical anatomical knowledge were 1.3 times more likely to have satisfactory knowledge about prostate cancer. Our study suggests that educational investments in interventions are necessary to promote the dissemination of anatomical knowledge regarding the male pelvis which will both raise awareness and ensure men of their autonomy. These interventions will allow men to be more active in their health-illness process, in their early diagnosis, and in their disease prevention.","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89561114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Visual impairment with headache is the most prevalent complaint and vitreous and anterior chamber cellularity are the most common signs of acute VKH. This condition represents about 2% of the cases referred to the uveitis department.4 It affects adults of both sexes, with a predilection for the female sex, between 20 and 50 years old, and for the black race, oriental and Hispanic.3 It is considered a systemic autoimmune disease characterized mainly by bilateral granulomatous panuveitis, in which antibodies are produced against tissues rich in melanocytes.5","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72805718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the elderly, although the number of coronary events decreases with age (relative risk), the number of patients who would benefit from “prevention” (treatment) annually, per 1000 individuals, tends to be higher than in young individuals (absolute risk). Advanced age alone should not be considered as a limiting factor for therapeutic intervention in cases of dyslipidemia. The analysis of life expectancy and quality of life are extremely important. Disabling diseases that compromise life expectancy, such as: severe heart failure, advanced cerebrovascular disease, dementia, neoplasms and frailty, when present, limit the possibility of any type of preventive cardiovascular treatment. Another limiting factor is the frequent previous use of a large number of medications, due to the possibility of increasing unfavorable drug interactions. Combined strategies of physical activity, diet, tobacco and alcohol use, adherence to medication, screening, vaccination and cognitive and mental health have been proposed as specific preventive recommendations for each decade. The most common dyslipidemia in this age group is secondary caused by pathologies such as diabetes mellitus, obesity, renal failure and also by the use of drugs that alter the lipid profile. When prescribing lipid-lowering drugs for individuals over the age of 65 years it is necessary to remember that there are numerous changes in the “aged” organism and, therefore, treatment should be started with lower doses than those usually prescribed for young adults; the increase should be gradual and analyzed in each case individually. Statins and fibrates are the lipid-lowering drugs that have shown better tolerability in the elderly and are therefore the first choice medications. PCSK9 inhibitor is most probably indicated in Familial Hypercholesterolemia patients.","PeriodicalId":13982,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Family & Community Medicine","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79891672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
