{"title":"Financial Distress Assessment Through Altman Z-Score","authors":"Farid Maulana","doi":"10.52644/joeb.v13i1.1493","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52644/joeb.v13i1.1493","url":null,"abstract":"This research aims to assess the financial distress condition of PT Waskita Karya Tbk (WSKT), a state-owned construction company in Indonesia, from 2017 to 2022 using the Altman Z-Score model. The Altman Z-Score combines financial ratios to predict the likelihood of bankruptcy. Secondary data derived from WSKT’s financial statements were analyzed quantitatively using the Z-Score formula for non-manufacturing firms. The findings indicate that WSKT has experienced significant financial distress. In 2017 and 2022, WSKT was in the Distress Zone with scores of 0.96570 and 0.78271 respectively. The company was also in distress in 2020 with a negative score of -1.12303. For 2018, 2019 and 2021, WSKT was in the Grey Zone with scores of 1.51502, 1.05679 and 1.17451. WSKT did not achieve Safe Zone status during the six years examined. Overall, 66.67% of the period reviewed falls in the Distress Zone, predicting a high bankruptcy risk for WSKT. To address this financial vulnerability, recommendations include conducting operational optimization to enhance efficiency and profitability, diversifying business portfolios to tap into promising segments, and proactively monitoring financial health using analytical models like Altman Z-Score. Data dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan SmartPLS 3.0. Beberapa temuan dalam studi ini adalah Kepemimpinan Digital danPemberdayaan Karyawan berpengaruh langsung terhadap Kinerja Karyawan melalui mediasi Komitmen Organisasi. Sedangkan Komitmen Organisasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kinerja Karyawan. The research results show that there are 4 combinations of funding assets in the calculation of the optimal portfolio of the Markowitz Model with the lowest risk preferences consisting of funding assets in Credit Grades A, B, D and E with an expected portfolio return of 24.29% for the year and 2.02. % for monthly and the best risk level in a year of 1.39% for annual and 0.11% for monthly. Drawing on the AMO (Ability, Motivation, Opportunity) framework, this research investigates the direct and indirect impacts of these factors through a comprehensive survey of 80 Education Office employees. The research findings reveal a significant positive influence of career advancement and job promotion on employee motivation and performance. The anticipated direct impact of employee competence on work motivation also proves to be significantly positive. These findings underscore the importance of structured career paths, promotions, and competence in shaping a motivated workforce and enhancing overall employee performance. This research contributes to bridging knowledge gaps in HRM practices and provides practical interventions for organizational improvement. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi literature dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data berasal dari hasil penelurusan menggunakan google schoolar dan pubmed dengan kata kunci karyawan, kinerja, dan inovasi. Adapun analisis data menggunakan analisis Milles and Hubberman dengan melalui tiga tahapan yakni reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karyawan memiliki peran dalam mencapai tujuan perusahaan. Sehingga pentingnya pemberdayaan karyawan oleh perusahaan itu sendiri. Untuk mendapatkan kinerja yang maksimal perlu adanya strategi-strategi yang dilakukan. Sektor logistik, FMCG, otomotif, dan e-commerce mengalami pertumbuhan yang signifikan. Proyeksi menunjukkan bahwa pada tahun 2025, permintaan gudang di Indonesia akan mencapai 3,4 juta m2, meningkat 261% dari 1,5 juta m2 pada tahun 2020. Perusahaan seperti Warelogi, sebagai penyedia platform marketplace warehouse dan logistik, dapat memanfaatkan peluang ini dengan memperkuat segmentasi pasar, mengembangkan infrastruktur dan teknologi, serta meningkatkan efisiensi operasional. Dalam menghadapi risiko-risiko yang mungkin terjadi, PT Warelogi melakukan manajemen risiko dengan mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, dan mengevaluasi risiko. Dari total 27 risiko yang diidentifikasi, empat di antaranya memiliki tingkat risiko sangat tinggi, termasuk operasional tidak berjalan dengan baik, korupsi, kecurangan, dan peretasan sistem. Melalui mitigasi risiko, empat risiko tersebut berhasil diturunkan menjadi dua risiko rendah dan dua risiko sangat rendah. Langkah-langkah mitigasi memerlukan biaya dan waktu, sehingga pemilihan risiko yang akan diatasi harus dipertimbangkan secara cermat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah para pengguna aplikasi shopee yang pernah melakukan pembelian terhadap produk fashion ready to wear. Banyaknya sampel dalam penelitian adalah 150 responden, dengan menggunakan teknik sampel random sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, statistika deskriptif, analisis regresi linier berganda, uji t, uji f serta koefisien determinasi. Melalui hasil olah data yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa program diskon dan perceived quality secara parsial berpengaruh positif terhadap keputusan pembelian produk fashion ready to wear. Sedangkan untuk Instagram advertising secara parsial tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap keputusan pembelian produk fashion ready to wear. Namun secara simultan Instagram advertising, program diskon dan perceived quality berpengaruh positif terhadap keputusan pembelian produk fashion ready to wear.
