Junk food includes some of the obvious culprits, such as cookies and candy, but can also include things that charade as nutritional choices when they are really not. The worst foods for kids are those that are high in calories and meaningless additives but low on nutrition. Some of the biggest offenders may be on the menu every day.\u0000The right time for healthy snacks is often the time after school, in the evenings, when kids are hungry and the body demands energy and nutrition. But if you indulge in preparing exhaustive and tedious varieties, that consume time to prepare, your kid will look for other simpler options like biscuits and wafers. Hence, just like it is important to prepare nutritious snacks, it is also important to do it quickly.\u0000The data are collected from parents through questionnaires which is the primary data collection method used in this research. The study is analyzed by applying statistical tools such as interval estimation, chi-square, weighted average etc. The findings of this study have thrown startling insights.","PeriodicalId":138341,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Learning and Educational Policy","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129042037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three research questions were answered, and corresponding null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The population of the study was 2545 respondents. Purposive sampling technique was used in the selection of 765 respondents (Beneficiary = 692; Instructor = 73) that participated in the study. Data were collected through a self-structured questionnaire designed in the patterned of Modified 4-point rating scale of agreement. A reliability coefficient of 0.81 was established through Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). Mean and Standard Deviation were used to answer the research questions while z-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study found that mechanical, electrical/electronic and building related skill-based progarmmes are used to achieve amnesty goals in Niger Delta region. based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that crime offenders should be rehabilitated with vocational skills such as auto-mechanic technology, welding and fabrication, boat building, agriculture and others. This will help in diverting the interest of youths from crime to becoming responsible citizens. At least three (3) world class vocational/technical training centers should be built in each senatorial zone in Rivers State to help train youths that can compete with youths outside the country, hence developing the state technologically.","PeriodicalId":138341,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Learning and Educational Policy","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133761007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To compete in world economy, nations cannot think of their development without the integration of technology (such as information and communication technology) in their educational systems (United Nations, 2005). Information and communication technology (ICT) is proved very useful to attain educational objectives in inclusive setting, where all children are taught in common classroom regardless of their socio-economic, cultural, religious, regional, caste and creed backgrounds. The task of providing qualitative and accessible education to differently abled children has become a shared responsibility for all stakeholders (Ahmad,2015;Praisner,2003); which demands a change in attitude, the presence and accessibility of infrastructure facilities, different methods and strategies of teaching and learning, varied tools and techniques for assessment and evaluation, and the solution of issue of acceptance and accommodation of all learners at all levels in education system(Ahmad,2014;2015b;Stainback & Stainback,1984). Assistive devices and assistive equipments of Information and communication technology facilitate children with varied impairments in inclusive setting. Researches proved that information and communication technology has played a crucial role to bring equality among all learners in the inclusive classrooms, however the efficiency in educational process can be achieved only through the involvement of stakeholders of education and with the efforts of different countries ( in terms of finance disbursement and provision of infrastructure facilities).","PeriodicalId":138341,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Learning and Educational Policy","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121272772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"A Systematic Review Of The Literature On Societal Attitude Towards Inclusive Education In North-East India","authors":"Dr. Barsha Kalita, Labanya Khanikar","doi":"10.55529/jlep.11.4.12","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.55529/jlep.11.4.12","url":null,"abstract":"Disability is a societal issue. Societal attitude often stands as a determining factor which determines the extent to which the physical, emotional and societal needs of a person with disability is met. Education of disabled children is one of the areas which have been largely impacted by the societal attitude. Therefore the concept of inclusive education emerged. According to UNICEF’s Report, on the Status of Disability in India (2000) states that there are around 30 million children in India suffering from some kinds of disability. Besides the Sixth All-India Educational Survey (NCERT, 1998) reports, that out of India’s 200 million school-aged children (6-14 years), 20 million require special needs education. While the national average for gross enrolment in school is over 90 per cent, less than five per cent of children with disabilities are in schools. Therefore, certainly the idea of inclusive education is highly relevant in North-east India, where differences in ability are seen as a threat, rather than a source of richness and diversity. Further there is lacuna of research about the impact of societal attitude on inclusive education in North-east India. Therefore, the objectives of the study are to review the extent of implementation of inclusive education in North-East India and to identify how societal attitude act as a barrier in implementation of inclusive education. Further, this paper also suggests how social work as profession can change societal attitude to strengthen the process of inclusive education. The ontological framework on which the study is based is that social construct normalizes the exclusion faced by children with disability in education. The epistemological assumption is that the relationship between societal attitude and inclusive education can be understood by in-depth review of secondary literature. The logic of procedure as emanating from the theoretical framework is predominantly deductive. Further, the study design includes systematic review and synthesis of related literature. The paper is divided into eight sections namely, introduction, rationale of the study, objectives of the study, methodology, literature review, critical analysis of literature review, suggestion and conclusion.","PeriodicalId":138341,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Learning and Educational Policy","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134432577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
