The logical thinking skills for the Social Work (SW) students are essential tool for their learning, even the development of their career in the future. Meanwhile, there is also a problem of “insufficient computer skills and interest” for the SW students. This paper describes a teaching practice for improving the logical thinking skills of SW students at the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU). The SW students are required to learn the basic concepts of IT, through the course of Introductory Information Technology (IIT) provided by MPU. In order to cultivate their logical thinking ability, the outline of IIT includes the introduction to evolution of computer and the mind map from three directions, instead of directly carried out the social thinking. The paper also illustrates these training methods that has positive influence in improving their abilities of logical thinking.","PeriodicalId":138087,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 5th International Conference on Education Technology Management","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116452949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, junior students are selected to mark the digital textbooks they use according to the types of teaching knowledge points, and the marking traces in the process of reading the textbooks are collected. Through cluster analysis, students are divided into different types of learning habits, and the influence of cue marking on students' cognitive process and cognitive results is explored by comparing the differences of students' test scores in this process. The analysis results show that cue marking plays a significant role in promoting the depth of digital reading of college students, indicating that cue marking in digital textbooks is helpful to develop students' deep reading habits and improve the reading effect.","PeriodicalId":138087,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 5th International Conference on Education Technology Management","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123530941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, 37 undergraduate students were selected to conduct reflective learning with the help of Popper cycle model. Through content analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and epistemic network analysis, learners' reflective ability and characteristics were explored. The results showed that procedural problem appeared the most frequently, but the lowest was the creative problem. As the turns increased, students reflected on problems from multiple perspectives and focused on the internal connections between the knowledge. Compared with the low-score group, the high-score group reflected more on the multistructural and relational structure level of procedural problems and creative problems. Finally, implications, limitations and future research were discussed.","PeriodicalId":138087,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 5th International Conference on Education Technology Management","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131530151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers and teachers are focusing more on tools and teaching methods that could edify computational thinking. Nowadays, developing students’ computational thinking through graphical programming has become a norm. In addition, project-based learning has been proven effective in cultivating students’ computational thinking. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the paired programming teaching method, which is based on project-based learning in junior high school students’ computational thinking, and to provide new opportunities and conditions for the development of computational thinking in junior high school students. This research could expand the view of starting project-based graphical programming courses, and provide a reference for the designing, developing, and teaching of junior high school computational thinking courses.","PeriodicalId":138087,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 5th International Conference on Education Technology Management","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133165497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Campus-based programs and courses have been redesigned in a timely manner which was a challenge for teachers not used to distance teaching. Students’ engagement and active participation become an issue; add to that the new emerging effects associated with this setup, such as the so-called “Zoom fatigue”, a term coined recently by some authors referring to one's exhaustion feeling that stems from the overuse of virtual meetings. In realising this problem, solutions were suggested in the literature to help trigger students’ engagement and enhance teachers’ experience in online teaching. This study analyses these effects along with our teachers’ experience in the new learning environment and concludes by devising some recommendations. To attain the above objectives, we conducted online interviews with six of our teachers, transcribed the content of the videos and then applied the inductive research approach to assess the results.","PeriodicalId":138087,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2022 5th International Conference on Education Technology Management","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128482019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
