To this end, 4cmx4cmx16cm test specimens of mortar containing cement or not and melted plastic bags at a mass ratio ranging from 10 to 25% of the mixture were produced. Compressive strength, flexural strength and acid durability were measured. The results show that the quantity of plastics in the mortars is inversely proportional to water absorption. Similarly, cementless mortars containing 25% plastic bags (MWC25) and cement mortars containing 25% plastic bags (CM25) gave maximum compressive strengths of 9.45MPa and 10.45MPa respectively. The durability test in a 5% sulphuric acid solution showed that CM25 and MWC20 lost 50% of their mass after 28 days.","PeriodicalId":13781,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CBLT integrates language instruction with academic content, aiming to enhance both linguistic skills and cognitive abilities simultaneously. The research employed a mixed-methods approach across multiple TEFL settings, including primary and secondary schools, to evaluate CBLTs efficacy. Quantitative data from pre-tests and post-tests, supplemented by surveys, measured improvements in language proficiency and academic achievement among students exposed to CBLT compared to traditional methods. Qualitative methods, such as classroom observations, teacher interviews, and student focus groups, provided deeper insights into instructional processes and learner experiences. Findings indicate significant enhancements in students language proficiency across speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in CBLT classrooms. Academic achievement in subjects like science, mathematics, and social studies also showed improvements, demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating language and content learning. Moreover, CBLT fostered higher levels of learner engagement and motivation by linking language skills with practical applications in academic contexts. Teacher perspectives highlighted the benefits of CBLT in promoting interdisciplinary learning and addressing diverse student needs, albeit with challenges related to curriculum integration and varying language proficiency levels. The study underscores the potential of CBLT to promote inclusive education by providing equitable access to language and content learning for all students. These findings contribute valuable insights to educational practices, emphasizing the importance of integrating language instruction with subject matter learning to enhance educational outcomes in TEFL contexts globally.","PeriodicalId":13781,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The evaluation of abdominal injuries is challenging and often results in missed diagnoses due to the complexity of symptoms and the difficulty in identifying subtle signs of internal injury. Aims & Objectives:To study the clinical presentation, evaluation, diagnostic investigations, and management strategies for various intra-abdominal organ injuries resulting from blunt trauma to the abdomen. Methods: - Following initial resuscitation and attainment of hemodynamic stability, all blunt abdominal trauma patients underwent meticulous clinical history-taking and comprehensive physical examination. Subsequent management decisions, whether operative or non-operative, were determined based on the integrated findings of clinical assessments and radiological evaluations. Results:Between August 2022 and August 2023, fifty (50) patients with blunt trauma to the abdomen were admitted to Basaveshwara Teaching and General Hospital, Kalaburagi. In this study, males predominated in the 21 to 30-year age group, which represented the most frequent demographic for abdominal blunt trauma. Traffic collisions were identified as the leading cause of abdominal blunt trauma. The spleen emerged as the organ most frequently affected. Of the patients, 28 underwent conservative management, while 22 required surgical intervention. Conclusion:In cases of blunt trauma to the abdomen, the early hours following injury are critically significant and represent a crucial window, often referred to as the golden period of trauma, associated with higher survival rates. Timely intervention andappropriate management during this phase have been shown to significantly decrease morbidity and mortality rates associated with blunt trauma abdomenandappropriate management during this phase have been shown to significantly decrease morbidity and mortality rates associated with blunt trauma abdomen.","PeriodicalId":13781,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
