In order to improve the research on the discharge characteristics of defects in GIS, SF6 needle-plate gap was used to simulate the spike defect in GIS and the relationship between the breakdown characteristics and the partial discharge (PD) under power-frequency voltage and lightning impulse superimposed voltage (AC+LI) was studied. On the one hand, it was found that partial discharge of the spike defect under power frequency voltage was the main reason that the breakdown voltage under AC+LI superimposed voltage deviated from single lightning breakdown voltage. The energy storage function of thermal storage electric boiler is fully exerted, so that it can cut peak and fill valley in the system, so as to improve the system's capacity of energy consumption for wind power and the economy of system operation. The membership function is used to transform the double objective with the lowest generation cost and the lowest heating cost into the single objective with the highest comprehensive satisfaction. The proportion of the influence of the two costs on the comprehensive satisfaction can be determined according to the demand by adjusting the expansion value of the two objectives, so as to facilitate the flexible solution. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has compiled two technical standards for DC energy meters in 2020 and 2021, which were IEC 62052-11:2020 “Electricity metering equipment- General requirements, tests and test conditions- Part 11: Metering equipment” and IEC 62053–41: 2021 “Electricity metering equipment- Particular requirements-Part 41: Static meters for DC energy (class 0,5 and 1)”. In order to promote the development of related work in China, this paper has compared the latest released IEC standards for DC energy meters with the current national standards and type evaluation outlines in China. The energy storage could provide ancillary service to system operators as it temporarily stores renewable energy to deal with the variation of renewable generation, thus promoting the consumption of renewable energy. Its effect on renewable energy accommodation is well worth being evaluated so that suitable types and sizes can be chosen to minimize the investment of energy storage equipment. Moreover, other factors such as the flexibility of thermal unit could also influence the effect of energy storage on renewable energy accommodation. This paper utilizes analysis of variance-based factorial analysis method to evaluate the effects of energy storage on renewable energy accommodation. A case study is conducted to study the effect of four factors (power capacity, energy-to-power ratio, round-trip efficiency for energy storage and minimum power output for thermal units) on the rate of renewable energy curtailment in a sending-end system of HVDC transmission. The established model not only considers the profit maximization of market participants, but also considers that the system needs to maximize social welfare to clear the market. The KKT condition is used to transform the outer optimization model into the constraint condition of the inner optimization model and then the solution is carried out. The validity of the model is proved by an example. The analysis shows that the electricity retailer can design a reasonable auxiliary service package to attract users to participate in the auxiliary service, and gain profits by having resources to participate in the auxiliary service market during the high load period. Among these problems, the insulator flashover fault is the most frequent problem. Hence, in order to investigate the characteristics of surface flashover of GIS insulator attached with metal particle, an experimental platform of power frequency voltage superimposed lightning impulse was set up and the waveform of positive lightning superimposed on the negative peak of power frequency voltage was generated. At the same time, an electric field simulation model of sample was set up. It was found that when the amplitude of power frequency component was less than 30kV, the surface flashover voltage of insulator attached with metal particle under the superimposed waveform showed obvious plateau phenomenon, when the flashover voltage was almost the same as that under lightning impulse alone. However, when the amplitude of power frequency increased to 40kV, the surface flashover voltage suddenly dropped by 10% around. Next, quantitative indices for the evaluation of frequency distribution are presented. Then, with simulation studies, the characteristics of frequency responses in different types of grid are analyzed.
