In order to promote the development of related work in China, this paper has compared the latest released IEC standards for DC energy meters with the current national standards and type evaluation outlines in China. Abstract

With the proposition of the decarbonization strategy of energy systems and the development of DC power grid, DC energy measurement technology has become a hot topic both at home and abroad. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has compiled two technical standards for DC energy meters in 2020 and 2021, which were IEC 62052-11:2020 “Electricity metering equipment- General requirements, tests and test conditions- Part 11: Metering equipment” and IEC 62053–41: 2021 “Electricity metering equipment- Particular requirements-Part 41: Static meters for DC energy (class 0,5 and 1)”.
