Although emission or detection techniques have been established, they are still being investigated by researchers interested in emission or detection mechanisms, or by others intended to improve performance. This work describes ultra-broadband emission and detection with an emphasis on PC-antenna detection. Applications in spectroscopy and imaging are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":13627,"journal":{"name":"Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Conference Digest of the 2004 Joint 29th International Conference on 2004 and 12th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2004.","volume":"91 1","pages":"533-534"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79953508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One main difference is the missing of a signal of NO in the SERS spectra, only reaction products like N/sub 2/ and N/sub 2/O could be seen, whereas in IR clearly NO vibrations were detected. IR spectra were taken to investigate the influence of additional heat and additional photons during the measurement. Besides desorption, no influence like increase of the reaction products N/sub 2/ or N/sub 2/O could be found. It seems to us that a disturbance of the investigated system due to laser irradiation during SERS is not the explanation for the different findings.","PeriodicalId":13627,"journal":{"name":"Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Conference Digest of the 2004 Joint 29th International Conference on 2004 and 12th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2004.","volume":"39 1","pages":"427-428"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84846322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The resonator is made of a circular waveguide segment and the periodic structure, which has form hollow cylindrical waveguide with transversal slits, is placed in this segment. When accelerating voltage was up to 20 kV the device radiated microwave power in 2-3 cm wavelength range. It was established that radiation was caused by synchronism of longitudinal velocity of cyclotron electron beam motion with phase velocity of slow space harmonic of the tube periodic structure. The synchronism of the wave and electron beam took place in a wide range of accelerating voltages. Cyclotron beam motions were driven by the leading magnetic field of the electrical magnet.","PeriodicalId":13627,"journal":{"name":"Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Conference Digest of the 2004 Joint 29th International Conference on 2004 and 12th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2004.","volume":"57 1","pages":"603-604"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88265715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The gyrotron can be stabilised by a partial reflection from an external resonant load. For that, a quasi-optical cavity with a corrugated mirror can be implemented into the load, the nonresonant reflection being assumed sufficiently small. If the gyrotron operates at a mode with non-zero azimuthal index, a shallow Bragg corrugation of the output may be necessary to couple the reflected wave to the cavity mode and the quality factor (Q-factor) determines the stability against the self-consistent load frequency band from the phased reflections.","PeriodicalId":13627,"journal":{"name":"Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Conference Digest of the 2004 Joint 29th International Conference on 2004 and 12th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2004.","volume":"36 1","pages":"229-230"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77306799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In stochastic process, the attention was focused on the analysis of temporal evolution of the electromagnetic (EM) field excited by an electron beam. It was shown that typically, as the beam current ratio to the start current increases, the EM field exhibits the series of transitions from stationary oscillations with the constant amplitude to the automodulation, and then to irregular oscillations, which can be treated as choatic ones and these oscillations were observed in gyro-BWO. In high power relativistic gyrodevices, the treatment was carried out assuming that the interaction between electrons and EM field takes place at an isolated fundamental cyclotron resonance exploiting weakly relativistic electron beams. We present the simulation corresponds to a second harmonic relativistic 30 GHz gyroklystron driven by a 500 kV electron beam and operating at the TE/sub 2,1/-mode at about 60 MW output power.","PeriodicalId":13627,"journal":{"name":"Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Conference Digest of the 2004 Joint 29th International Conference on 2004 and 12th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2004.","volume":"39 1","pages":"227-228"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87066765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
