For the estimation influence of absorbed-radiation on the temperature distribution on bolometer elements has been developed. The calculated percentage of losses of radiant energy depend on the energy of photons. Calculation and experimental modeling of the operation of HTS bolometer as a test sample with electronic negative electrothermal feedback was carried out to estimate the possibility of the decrease of time constant. The results of noise research of YBaCuO films on various substrates are reported. The experiment employs the 2 MW-170 GHz coaxial gyrotron for ITER at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Germany, which is designed to operate with the TE/sub 34,19/ mode at the fundamental cyclotron frequency. Up to now, experimental results of 0.5 MW/100 sec, 0.9 MW/9.2 sec were demonstrated. For a stable 1 MW/CW operation, the gyrotron and test facility are under modification: an efficiency improvement of built-in mode converter, beam current control with a pre-programmed control of a cathode heater power, and voltage between an anode and a cathode for constant output power. High power millimeter wave transmission experiment of a neutron irradiated diamond window shows that loss tangent doubles and thermal conductivity decreases to approximately half. It is, however, verified that the irradiated window is applicable to a fusion reactor like the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (TIER). In terms of reliability on the window structure, a diamond window with a copper (Cu) coated edge is developed. Thickness of the Cu layer is 0.5 mm. The results indicate that a GaSe crystal is a good sensor crystal for broadband THz waves with a 10 fs laser system. In comparison, the THz wave field amplitude measured with a GaSe crystal exceeds that detected by a ZnTe crystal with comparable detection bandwidth. The central frequency of THz pulses detected by the GaSe crystal is tunable by tilting the angle about the vertical axis, which is perpendicular to the direction of the probe beam. This machine is equipped with an electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) system which can be applied for very localised heating of the plasma or for current drive (ECCD) in the plasma. High power tests of a remote steering launcher system have performed successfully with a four side corrugated square waveguide operated under atmospheric pressure.
