Measurement campaigns with these signals are difficult and require expensive equipment. In order to generate realistic data this paper refines a methodology for virtual measurements of 5G channels, which combines a simulation of urban mobility with a ray-tracing simulator. The urban mobility simulator is responsible for controlling mobility, positioning pedestrians and vehicles throughout each scene while the ray-tracing simulator is repeatedly invoked, simulating the interactions between receivers and transmitters. The orchestration among both simulators is done using a Python software. To check how the realism can influence the computational cost, it was made a numerical analyze between the number of faces and the simulation time.","PeriodicalId":135552,"journal":{"name":"Anais de XXXVII Simpósio Brasileiro de Telecomunicações e Processamento de Sinais","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130016252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can help to save costs since it allows the use of virtualized base stations instead of physically deployment in different areas. However, the creation and management of virtual base stations pools is not trivial and introduces new challenges to C-RAN deployment. This paper reports a method to orchestrate and manage a container-based C-RAN. We used several instances of the OpenAirInterface software running on Docker containers, and orchestrated them using Kubernetes. We demonstrate that using Kubernetes it is possible to dynamically scale remote radio heads (RRHs) and baseband units (BBUs) according to requirements of the network and parameters such as the server resources usage.","PeriodicalId":135552,"journal":{"name":"Anais de XXXVII Simpósio Brasileiro de Telecomunicações e Processamento de Sinais","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116838635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique is tailored to frequency-domain functional splits, in which inactive LTE (or 5G NR) resource elements may not be transmitted in the packets. This allows decreasing the link data rate, especially when the cell load is low. The compression scheme is based on two parts: transmission of side information to indicate active and inactive resource elements of the LTE, and nonuniform scalar quantization to compress the QAM symbols of the active resource elements. The method was implemented in the OpenAirInterface (OAI) software for real-time evaluation. The testbed results show a significant reduction in link usage with a low computational cost.","PeriodicalId":135552,"journal":{"name":"Anais de XXXVII Simpósio Brasileiro de Telecomunicações e Processamento de Sinais","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126477562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Detecting localized properties of GS using spectral tools while taking into account the underlying graph topology is still an active research topic called vertex-frequency analysis (VFA). This paper provides a brief and up-to-date overview on state-of-the-art VFA tools, namely windowed graph Fourier transform and spectral graph wavelet transform. In addition, the paper shows how VFA can be applied to detect and localize anomalies in GS. In the particular example of localizing a malfunctioning weather station, the average area under ROC curve achieved by the local factor outlier technique can be improved from 72% to 87% when fed with VFA-extracted features to detect small drifts in temperature measurements, ranging from 0.5C to 4C. We extend models proposed by previous works and show that one may tailor advanced single-channel NMF techniques, such as the deconvolutive NMF, to the multichannel factorization scheme. Additionally, we propose a regularized cost function that enables the user to control the distribution of the estimated parameters without significantly increasing the underlying computational cost. We also develop an optimization framework compatible with previous related works. Our simulations show that the proposed deconvolutive model offers advantages when compared to the simple NMF, and that the regularization is able to steer the parameters towards a solution with desirable properties.
