This paper presents a simulation and optimization framework for Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes in practical industry. Starting from multi-level part design, to process optimization and planning, from energy and material consumption to the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) evaluation, the paper presents a complete practical working flow of AM technologies. Four models are developed within the framework: the design model, the process optimization and planning model, the energy and material consumption model and the production model. All the four models connect subsequently one another. Their concepts and corresponding methods will be presented in order in each chapter of the paper. A close optimization loop can be formed by these models. The feedbacks of each model will be used to optimize the design as well as the process planning. Firstly, get the vertexes of each entity and map them to log-polar coordinates, the sum of amplitude before accuracy and handle of previous entity is used to generate a watermark. Then use the improved difference expansion (IDE) algorithm to embed the watermark into corresponding amplitude. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is not only robust against global geometric operations such as translation, rotation and scaling, but extremely sensitive to malicious attacks which affect the normal use of drawings, meanwhile it can also locate tampering to a specific entity. Aiming at the energy-efficiency, this paper presents a service-oriented framework of sustainable manufacturing, in which the energy-efficient manufacturing approaches are used to conduct the operations of the manufacturing resources in a job shop, while the cloud manufacturing is utilized to enable a service business model for users in the whole life cycle of products and production processes. It is surprising to find that structural steel packing is still done empirically by experienced workers. Therefore, this paper explores how this problem is currently dealt with in steel plants to document the loaders' reasoning, since no literature on the subject has been found. Such documentation could later help the development of an algorithm capable of planning these packings. Expert loaders' reasoning was captured through an experiment exploiting a set of miniature members representing structural steel members. Miniature members were created using additive manufacturing. It has great prospects in biomedical monitoring. We have designed and implemented a NIRS prototype system, with which we recorded the concentration changes of oxyhemoglobin(O2Hb) and deoxyhemoglobin(CO2Hb) during in-vivo experiments. Generally, the four-axis CNC machine has the characteristic of low precision, which often leads to some obvious tiny tool marks like overcut on the blade surface. To overcome this problem, a tool orientation smoothing method is developed and implemented. Key issues are focused on tool orientation smoothing in four-axis spiral machining of blades, and concrete contributions are twofold. First, according to the primary curvature radii and parameter characteristics, the parameter range of blade surface is subdivided into four subregions. Second, tool orientation smoothing method for four subregions of blade surface is addressed in detail based on the step length of cutter contact (CC) points in four-axis spiral machining. Statistics show that the revenue of Canadian recruitment industry has increased sustainably in recent years and the contribution of temporary staffing services have reached approximately two-thirds of the whole recruitment industry sales. However, in the information explosion ages, how to improve the efficiency of recruiting is a critical challenge facing the staffing agencies. Traditional recruitment process is neither effective nor efficient in matching the large pool of candidates. Internet-based recruitment solutions can be very efficient in dealing with large-scale datasets but still have some problems. A PES is generated from environment analysis, the first activity of EBD methodology. Conflict identification is the second activity in EBD methodology. A detailed systematic approach to identify conflict is missing in this activity; therefore, the proposed algorithm is intended to close this gap. The algorithm includes the following tasks: 1) construct a performance network, 2) identify active and reactive conflicts, and 3) identify critical conflicts. A case study in collaboration with Area Development Planning (a subsection of the City of Edmonton) is also presented in this paper. The case study is to demonstrate the use of the proposed algorithm to develop a total quality management system. In this article, we described the principle of the sensor and made an experimental analysis. The analysis results showed that the sensitivity and linearity of the sensor were -1.5pm/um and 4.11% respectively within a measuring range of 2-2.6mm. When the sensor was used to monitor the vibration of the rotating shaft, the vibration signals and the critical speed measured were the same as that obtained from the eddy current sensors. For such system, we perceive using a controlled natural language (CNL) as one method within a multimodal interface to capture some of the required input. To evaluate the feasibility of using a CNL for problem definitions, we conducted a user study with 18 participants. We found that using a CNL increases the quality of problem definition statements for functional requirements compared to statements written in natural language.
