Kaneko","doi":"10.2498/iti.2012.0454","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2498/iti.2012.0454","url":null,"abstract":"In this study, we have designed and implemented a Web-based learning system for matrix operations to fill in the gap between the curricula of high schools and scientific or engineering universities in Japan. The system is based on drilling and it provides remedial education so that freshmen in scientific or engineering universities in Japan are able to acquire knowledge required for university education. The system consists of two sub parts, textbook and drilling. The former is for teaching the definitions related to matrices and operations defined on matrices to students while the latter is for teaching rules of the operations to the students. We have carried out a small evaluation experiment with ten participants who are all students in arts faculties of universities and have not learned matrices in high schools nor in universities. From the result of the experiment, we observed that the system has equivalent learning effect to the paper-based learning. Indeed, consumers visit sites not only to search for and purchase products/services, but also to have rich, entertaining experiences. These goals or objectives determine what type of tasks the consumer performs at a site; different tasks and goals require a different human-computer interactive experience. This program of research has demonstrated that rich behavioral theories can provide clear guidance to system designers. In this paper, the current situation in the European broadband market is analyzed. Furthermore, the model to assess the cost of mobile broadband access networks is introduced and the techno-economic analyses of mobile broadband networks deployments are conducted. In the chosen sample area scenarios the costs for mobile WiMAX and LTE networks implementation are calculated and presented using several profitability evaluation methods. Despite the fact that business process (BP) modeling has its long-lasting traditions in various areas of application, this discipline remains in the constant process of improvement and issue-solving. The paper deals with one of such issues, namely, the existing gap between BP modeling and specification of business vocabularies & rules. In not dealt appropriately, this may lead to some issues while developing, reading and interpreting business models themselves, also to miscommunication issues within and among the organizations dependent on such models, and so on. The gap could be diminished by the means of integration of BP models with business vocabularies & rules; the paper presents some argumentation to back such statements. One can also use hybrid methods, because both approaches have some benefits. In this paper we show how to build new hybrid software engineering methods by means of metamodels. We describe metamodels of the classical waterfall method and extreme programming and create their common metamodel. Although lagging behind the business sector in its implementation, higher education is by its very nature directed towards knowledge management. Through their research work higher education institutions participate in the creation of knowledge, whereas knowledge dissemination is carried out through publications and student education. Information and communication technologies (ICT) play a key role in knowledge management. To be able to participate in a knowledge management project, students need to have adequate equipment at their disposal and be ICT literate. Starting with these premises, our research was designed to assess ICT equipment and skills among Croatian polytechnic students and to determine how they perceive certain aspects of knowledge management project. Companies and their Supply Chains have been implementing some management practices, in order to improve their efficiency. Many of these practices require interoperation among two or more entities. The failure in implementing these practices highlights the need of companies in improving their ability of interoperation. The interoperability is a required role in a collaborative Supply Chain.
