Clinical examination revealed a transverse fracture of the maxilla. The patient was taken under immediate surgical correction right after completing the physical parameters assessment. The correction was done under injectable anaesthesia with ketamine @ 40 mg kg -1 and xylazine @ 3 mg kg -1 . The fracture reduction was done by manual compression and stabilized by using an orthopaedic wire and prolene suture. The present study describes the successful management of a fractured maxilla in an Indian ringneck parakeet.","PeriodicalId":13500,"journal":{"name":"INDIAN JOURNAL OF ANIMAL HEALTH","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135463192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

 Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.
 Findings: The findings allowed for increased accessibility to veterinary services, particularly in remote areas, and reduced the need for physical visits, minimizing stress for animals and clients alike. It also played a crucial role in maintaining continuity of care during the COVID-19 pandemic when in-person consultations were restricted. Overall, the adoption of telemedicine and telehealth services in veterinary care demonstrated their potential to enhance efficiency and accessibility while ensuring the well-being of animals.
 Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Diffusion of Innovation Theory, Technology Acceptance Model and One Health Theory may be used to anchor future studies on use of telemedicine and telehealth services in providing veterinary care. practitioners should establish clear protocols for telehealth consultations, ensuring that they meet the same standards of care as in-person visits. Policymakers can encourage telehealth adoption by providing incentives or subsidies for practices to invest in telemedicine infrastructure.","PeriodicalId":13500,"journal":{"name":"INDIAN JOURNAL OF ANIMAL HEALTH","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136308889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low-cost advantage as compared to field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.
 Findings: This transmission often occurs at the interface between humans, domestic animals, and wildlife. Factors like habitat destruction, increased human-wildlife interactions, and the wildlife trade have heightened the risk of zoonotic disease emergence. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for early detection and prevention of zoonotic outbreaks, as wildlife plays a pivotal role in the maintenance and amplification of these pathogens, posing ongoing challenges to global public health.
 Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: One Health Theory, Ecological Reservoir Theory and Behavioral Ecology Theory Change may be used to anchor future studies on the role of wildlife in the transmission of zoonotic diseases. Strategies enhanced surveillance and monitoring of wildlife populations, especially those in close proximity to human settlements, are crucial. Governments and international organizations should prioritize habitat conservation and the protection of biodiversity.","PeriodicalId":13500,"journal":{"name":"INDIAN JOURNAL OF ANIMAL HEALTH","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136308676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
