The empirical results show that reducing the cost of financial distress, avoiding underinvestment and increasing firm size are positive determinants of listed companies' use of financial derivatives. However, the empirical results of this paper are also different from the results of international studies. The reduction of expected taxes, substitution factors and agency problems are not the determinants of listed companies' use of financial derivatives. Few listed Chinese companies use derivatives for hedging which may be the cause of the deviation problem. Further analysis shows that managers' interests are not the motivation for listed companies to use derivatives. Thus, it can be seen that the primary goal of Chinese listed companies using derivatives is to avoid hedging risks. This paper helps to predict the possibility that listed companies make hedging decisions depending on the relevant factors and provides policy guidance for the government to implement a modern development strategy for the derivatives market.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125215583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the article is to summarize the key changes in international FATF standards and examine the use of a risk-oriented approach by Ukrainian entities in combating AML or CFT. Assessment of audit risk using quantitative characteristics is assumed on the basis of the most commonly used mathematical three-factor multiplicative model. Turning to the EU’s experience is relevant for the global expert and regulators communities given the necessity to consider the best world practices. Summarizing the above provisions of the theory and practice of the risk-oriented approach for Ukrainian SFM allowed for identification of the areas of its practical implementation in the system of internal audit of financial transactions. The presence of an internal audit service will increase the degree of trust that government representatives have in such companies and the likelihood that a mutually beneficial partnership will develop between the parties.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115488887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each of them had different causes, duration and consequences for the non-financial corporate sector. The first crisis (1997-1998) had internal causes and severely affected non-financial firms. In contrast, the second crisis (2009) had external economic causes and non-financial corporations emerged with a positive economic outcome. As a result of extremely rigorous economic policies and net borrowing by non- financial firms, the Czech economy experienced a crisis in 2012 and 2013. The COVID- 19 pandemic was the external, not economic cause of the fourth crisis (2020-2021) that brought about a successful outcome for non-financial corporations. The aim of this analysis is to answer the question of what causes these divergent economic results and why the external impulses of the crisis led to a reversal of the traditionally negative economic balance. The results showed that the levels of indebtedness and profitability conceal the main differences in conditions. The analysis is based on data from the Czech National Accounts and uses relative indicators to describe the economic behaviour of non-financial corporations constructed in such a way that their explanatory power is closer to the conditions for assessing economic performance in corporate practice.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132248719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its modern forms involve both manufacturing products and delivering them to customers. Both small bakers and large producers sell their products to the supermarket. The largest bakeries export a wide variety of baked foods. The sector is a large employer and it has been thoroughly studied internationally. However, only a small number of studies have analysed the baked goods sector, often due to the lack of categorization of bakeries in the data. In this article, we use public statistics on Norwegian bakeries to study their economies of scale. The profitability of large bakeries persistently exceeds the average rate. New bakeries are equally likely to succeed or fail in the long run. Many new bakeries enter the market as a result of tough competition and a long period of high sector probability but it is difficult for them to survive. Those that must leave the market are mostly new entrants. Despite their difficulties, small and medium-sized bakeries are more profitable than new start-up businesses. We investigate the non-linear relationship between size and profitability as well as between and within bakeries.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134018976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The participants in this study were auditors of the Audit Board of Indonesia in Central Java. Using purposive sampling, 97 participants made up the entire studies. Data was analysed using partial least square (PLS). This study found that competence had a significant positive impact on audit quality. Time budget pressure had a negative impact on audit quality. Though, moral reasoning had no impact on audit quality. Furthermore, moral reasoning enhanced the impact of competence on audit quality. On the other hand, moral reasoning weakened the effect of time budget pressure on audit quality. The findings of this study are anticipated to advance the field of auditing science and offer guidance to Indonesia‘s Audit Board in order to assist its auditors in maintaining the calibre of their audit.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125389344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was carried out by using the hypothetical-deductive method with a basic descriptive approach rather than an experimental one. To estimate the probability of creating the Digital Currency of the Central Bank and the economic variables that explain its challenges and cross-sectional information obtained from the 2020 National Household Survey with the discrete choice model (Logit). According to the research results, i) the possibility of using a digital currency increases by 46.83% if you have a formal job compared to an informal job. ii) If the individual has an internet connection, the probability of using digital currency is 8.54%. iii) If he lives in a rural area, the probability of using digital currency is 1.79. iv) The educational level influences the probability of the use of digital currency by 1.47% if they have secondary education 16.34% have no higher education and 26.44% having university education. v) Individual’s age is important for the use of a digital currency. Older people are less likely to adapt to technology than people between the age of 18 and 24 with 8.74% use of digital currency. vi) People considered poor will have a probability of reduction of 2.26% by the use of digital currency. These findings allow the researcher to conclude that public policies should be undertaken to increase financial inclusion, close connectivity gaps and create alliances with private investment to enhance people's digital skills and the adoption of digital means of payment.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124000544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bangladesh is different. We find a positive relationship between NWC and firm risk in an environment with weak governance and lax protection of property rights. Higher NWC must maintain to balance firm risk. Financial reporting quality (FRQ), liquidity risk, revenue uncertainty and weak capital market access have impact on firm risk. Poor FRQ adversely affects cost of capital and also limited financing choice. Changes in NWC have a significant impact on stock performance in firms with slower sales growth and less access to external capital. Our finding’s reliability is supported by both the fixed-effects panel and GMM regressions. The results have implications for Bangladeshi investors and firm managers as well as for other emerging markets with limited capital market access, high cost of bank debt and weak enforcement of property rights.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116590815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the current study aims to examine the dynamic role of corruption, inflation and unemployment on income inequality. For this purpose, 15 years balance panel data from 2006 to 2020 of 12 developing Asian countries is collected from the transparency international and World Bank Indicators (WDI) databases. Moreover, GINI Index which is used to measure the income inequality is considered as a variable of interest that indicates income inequality whereas, interest rate, corruption, inflation and unemployment are selected as independent variables. The Random Effect Model (REM) and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) are used to examine the relationship among the selected variables. The results reveal that corruption, inflation and unemployment have a significant positive relationship with the GINI index hence, are core factors that increase the income inequality level in developing Asian countries. The results help to guide policymakers while formulating the regulations to control income inequality by focusing more on corruption, inflation and unemployment factors.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"61 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134392286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This relationship is examined by using secondary data from the financial statements. Financial performance is measured by return on assets, equity and net interest margin. Liquidity risk is represented by the quick ratio, current ratio, loan-to-deposits ratio, loan-to-assets ratio, cash and investment-to-deposit ratio, capital adequacy and interest coverage ratio. The Ordinary Least Squares model was used to process the data. The study's findings show that return on assets has a negative relationship with the current ratio but a positive relationship with loans-to-total deposits, cash plus investments-to-total deposits and capital adequacy ratio. Return on equity has a negative relationship with the quick ratio and interest coverage ratio but a positive relationship with the current ratio, loans-to-total assets and cash plus investments-to-deposits ratio. Net interest margin is negatively related to loans-to-total deposits, capital adequacy interest coverage ratio and positively related to loans-to-total assets. These findings have implications for Western Balkan banks’ variables use to manage liquidity risk. The findings of the study are significant as they can be use to enhance liquidity risk management by influencing performance indicators for Western Balkans bank.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123294740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, three factors are investigated based on the technology, organisation, and environment (TOE) framework: information technology (IT) capability, top management support, and government support. Using a questionnaire survey of 127 respondents from publicly listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia, this study shows that top management support and government support significantly affect AI adoption in publicly listed manufacturing companies. However, the results show that IT capability does not significantly influence the AI adoption of publicly listed manufacturing companies. Thus, the findings provide evidence of the influence of IT capability, top management support, and government support on AI adoption in publicly listed manufacturing companies. In addition, the findings of this study contribute to the existing literature on AI adoption in publicly listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128060627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
