Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in publicly listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia. Specifically, three factors are investigated based on the technology, organisation, and environment (TOE) framework: information technology (IT) capability, top management support, and government support. Using a questionnaire survey of 127 respondents from publicly listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia, this study shows that top management support and government support significantly affect AI adoption in publicly listed manufacturing companies. However, the results show that IT capability does not significantly influence the AI adoption of publicly listed manufacturing companies.
