Testing potentized Cordyceps sinensis in cancer cells could help broaden Homoeopathy cancer therapeutics. Objectives: The objectives of the study were to evaluate the antioxidant and cytotoxicity activity of potentized preparation of Cordyceps sinensis in carcinoma cell-lines. Methods: In this in vitro study, antioxidant activity was analyzed by the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazylhydrate assay and the dilution with more antioxidant potential was further analyzed for cytotoxicity, using 3-(4,5-dimethyl-thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay on various carcinoma cell lines: Breast cancer cell line (MCF-7), liver cancer cell line (HePG2), lung cancer cell line (A-549), and prostate cancer cell line (PC3). All experiments were carried out in triplicates. Data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance and the means were compared by Duncan’s new multiple range test. Results: A higher antioxidant potential 377.40 μL/mL was seen in Cordyceps sinensis 30C, which was further analyzed for cytotoxicity in cell lines (MCF-7), (HePG2), (A-549), and (PC3) which it inhibited at concentrations 596.21 ± 3.32 μL/mL, 438.10 ± 2.39 μL/mL, 555.40 ± 3.08 μL/mL, and 656.42 ± 2.68 μL/ mL, respectively. When comparing Cordyceps sinensis 30C to other cell lines, its cytotoxic activity against HEPG2 is particularly potent. Conclusion: This research demonstrates the usefulness of potentized preparation of Cordyceps sinensis, it will take additional studies comparing it to currently used drugs to determine whether or not it is significantly more efficient. G.A.D. is a chronic and recurrent disorder with a low rate of remission with a considerable impact on quality of life. There is a scarcity of literature published on homoeopathy on G.A.D. This case report illustrates an improvement without recurrence of a G.A.D. case treated exclusively with homoeopathic medicine. Case Summary: Case Summary: A 36-year-old man presented with anxiety about least trifles, easily irritable, palpitation, gastric disturbances, tension, excessive sweating, sleep disturbances and difficulty in concentration. After thorough case-taking, homoeopathic treatment with Lycopodium 200C and Sulphur 1000C led to a remarkable improvement. He was free of symptoms from the 10th month of treatment. He was functionally and socially improved, as reflected in the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale and there was no relapse for 8 months. Individualised homoeopathic treatment showed a positive result in the treatment of G.A.D. It brought about considerable improvement in the patient’s social, occupational and familial life without any adverse effects.","PeriodicalId":13469,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42889988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The subject is essential for developing reliable information on the safety of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy medicines. Objectives:Objectives: This study explored the homoeopathic physicians’ knowledge, awareness, attitude and practice (KAAP) towards the Pv programme in homoeopathy. Methods:Methods: An online cross-sectional survey was conducted among 274 Indian homoeopathic practitioners for 2 months. The study team developed the questionnaire in consultation with three subject experts and the same was circulated as a generated link among different social media handles. The interested participants consenting to the study were directed to the data collection format through an online portal. The data were collected in four domains: KAAP. Descriptive statistics were used in data analysis and independent t-tests for the subgroup analysis. Results:Results: A total of 274 homoeopathic practitioners were approached, of which 265 consented to fill out the questionnaire, yielding a response rate of 96.7%. Most of the study participants had obtained low scores in knowledge and awareness of the programme. Statistically significant differences were observed among postgraduates and those with prior training in Pv. The attitude towards acceptance of the programme was relatively high among the participants, but the low awareness led to reduced observations and reporting of the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in homoeopathy. Conclusion:Conclusion: Despite the good attitude of homoeopathic practitioners to the Pv programme, sufficient hands-on training is required to identify and report ADRs in homoeopathy.","PeriodicalId":13469,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45640318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a perilous and fatal condition occurring most commonly due to diabetes. In general, people with diabetes have a significantly increased risk of lower extremity gangrene leading to amputation. Case Summary Case Summary: A 70-year-old woman presented with diabetic gangrene of her right leg and foot since 4 months. The patient complained of swelling and blackish discoloration of the right foot and leg with offensive discharging ulcers on the first and third toes. She was diagnosed with diabetic foot gangrene and advised to undergo surgical amputation of the foot and debridement of the leg by a local surgeon within 4–5 days to stop the spread of gangrene. After an unsatisfactory outcome, the patient turned to homoeopathy to avoid amputation. After a detailed case-taking, analysis and repertorisation, Arsenic album 30C was prescribed. Within 3–4 months, there was an improvement in the limb without any surgical intervention. Calendula officinalis Q was used for cleaning the wound and regular dressing. This case depicts the importance of individualised homoeopathic medicine in treating gangrene effectively, thus obviating amputation.","PeriodicalId":13469,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42279068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Depression is one of the most common conditions for which people seek homoeopathic treatment. ObjectiveObjective: This study is aimed to understand the scope of homoeopathy in depression based on the results of previous studies. MethodsMethods: A study was done to evince the scope of homoeopathic medicines in the treatment of depression. Searches were done in both general and specialised databases. The data were collected from peer-reviewed journals published between January 2001 and January 2021. Efforts were made to identify published articles on ‘depression and homoeopathy, homoeopathy for depression, depressive disorder and homoeopathy, dysthymia in homoeopathy’. ResultsResults: Twenty-one relevant studies were found and included in the review. These included systematic reviews, randomised control trials, observational studies, case series and case reports. Even though the studies considered in the review indicate the effectiveness of Homoeopathy, it is difficult to assess the overall effect of homoeopathy systematically, mostly because of compromised study designs. ConclusionConclusion: This review has helped in synthesising the existing literature on the scope of homoeopathy in the treatment of depression. However, in order to obtain more reliable results, better-designed researches, with long-term follow-ups may be planned.","PeriodicalId":13469,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47393253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
