On the basis of the “General Theory of Economic Development”, this study particularly intends to re-identify the economic policy paradigm of the Park Chung-hee era as a “heavy-chemical industrialization strategy”, rather than as an “export-led growth strategy” as considered by mainstream economic circles. To this end, this study suggests the necessity of a new interpretation of Korea‟s industrialization process as it examines the actual implementation process of the policy. This study also explains “the holy trinity of economic development”, that is, the market, corporation, and government, in line with the General Theory of Economic Development. To this end, this study examines the major criticisms of the heavy-chemical industrialization policy, and reevaluates the policy from the viewpoint of the General Theory of Economic Development. Based on the results of the above analysis, this study drew the following three conclusions. First, the success of the heavy-chemical industrialization strategy ultimately contributed to the accomplishment of the industrial revolution in Korea by elevating and developing the Korean economy from a „carriage manufacturing economy‟ into an „automobile manufacturing economy‟. Second, Korea‟s economic development was led by the growth of corporations, and thus, by the paradigm of the corporate contribution to the national prosperity and development. Finally, the industrial policy of government-controlled economic discrimination has contributed to the successful industrialization of Korea.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"485 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116170185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technology that used to be in the background and used only by financial professionals are now available for end-users who need financial services at their fingertip, especially those who invest and trade ubiquitously. As more investors and traders manage their own stock portfolio without the help of human brokers, the need for predictive and visual financial analytics to manage a self-maintained financial portfolio is critical. There are a growing number of special services for investors and traders, who demand detailed analyses of their investments and financial derivatives. The objective of this paper is to contribute more teaching cases in financial analytics classes that involves stock trading. The paper examines how various services provide predictive financial analytics using data mining, intelligent algorithms, and visual analytics and have students in finance who manage their own simulated financial portfolio to use these Fintech tools to improve their stock trading strategies.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121821301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, more than half population is under the risk of poverty and social exclusion in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H in further text). Furthermore, unemployed people, youth, women and old people are particularly jeopardized. There are a lot of reasons for this situation: high level of unemployment, low level of education, underdeveloped and inefficient health system, aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995, high level of corruption, slow reforms implementation (economic, legal and political), etc. Therefore this paper is going to give an overview of the state of poverty in B&H, even so it suggests the way it can be alleviated or reduced, leading to principles of Islamic economy and finance. Moreover, descriptive method of research will be used. Authors concluded that if Islamic approaches would be implemented holistically, it would be possible to alleviate poverty to a satisfactory level. The results of research can help government decision makers in formulating poverty alleviation strategies and politics.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"423 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120882169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with this, there is still no unambiguous answer to the question about what methods subjects resort to when estimating the uncertain quantitative factors. This question is extremely topical for mathematical modeling of making the best decisions in economy, finance, business processes, and social structures under the conditions of uncertainty. This work is dedicated to research into the methods using which a subject estimates the uncertain quantitative factors. The researches have shown that the subjective estimation of the quantitative uncertain factors is an interval one, and the actual values of an estimated factor are equally distributed within the estimate interval. At the same time, the point estimations are used rather rarely and are not adequate to the subject’s psychology of estimation.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"233 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122456989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concept of global economy has expanded consumer awareness, defined new standards and rules of operations, and increased the need for national and corporate interdependence. Multinational organizations are exploring opportunities around the world, demonstrating sensitivity towards cultural differences in order to gain from the proliferation and growth of international enterprise. Recent studies indicate that while some corporations compete successfully in the global marketplace, others have failed to sustain their competitive advantage because of cultural imperialism or inadequate acculturation of their managers on international assignment. Corporate analysts argued that the key to global business success depends on effective cross-cultural etiquette and global workforce diversity management. Other significant studies emphasized that global managers should be trained in interpersonal relationship and group communication competence, and should be equipped with cross-cultural negotiation skills that can maintain global competitiveness. Increasingly, corporations recognize the value of preparing global managers, because business objectives of are not been achieved primarily because of deficiencies in cross-cultural etiquette. Against this background, this study provides a constructive evaluation and analysis of global etiquette and cross-cultural communication for managers in international assignments. The study then proposes a strategic role for organizations to achieve adequate return on investments and to succeed in international competitiveness through cultural awareness, sensitivity, and reciprocity.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131106889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Study population consisted of all (34) Jordanian real estate companies listed on the Jordan Stock Exchange during the period (2015-2017). The most important results of the study include: there is a positive relationship for the capital structure and institutional ownership to improve the financial performance at Jordanian real estate companies through (ROA, ROE, EPS), and also there is a positive relationship between the company size measured by total assets and the financial performance of Jordanian real estate companies. Based on the above results, researchers made a number of recommendations, such as the need for private investment companies to support investments in the Jordanian real estate companies by raising the institutional ownership or property ratios, in order to increase the amount of capital in these companies.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121701331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can see how leadership style calls for flexibility because of the complex nature of the problems that every leader continually confronts. It is assumed that the kind of leadership style employed in an organization has an impact on its overall performance. Qualitative case study design was employed. Purposive sampling was adopted to sample a total sample size of 22 respondents who are in leadership position from various fields of industries. The paper is organised into five sections. The first gives a brief introduction of the literature on leadership. The second explores the literature review of leaders at the core. The third investigates the critical success dynamics, specifically on leadership continuum and how that contributes to the development of a global leader. The fourth examines the role of leadership, specifically an adaptation worldview, in the development of a global leader from a practitioner’s view from Myanmar. The fifth considers the challenges in managing relationship and leverage global leadership development.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"1223 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124608595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
