The data of innovation ability and business dynamism of 45 countries obtained from the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index for 2018 and their data of entrepreneurial intention obtained from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor were included in the research. The conceptual model was evaluated with PROCESS, a multifaceted modeling tool developed by Andrew F. Hayes, which integrates many functions for SPSS and SAS for different statistical analyses such as mediator, regulatory and conditional process models, by mediation analysis. According to the findings of the analysis, it is understood that the innovation ability of the countries have a direct impact on the entrepreneurial intention, but business dynamism plays a complete mediator role in this impact and a significant part of the total impact is indirectly occurred with business dynamism.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125865032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the data of China, USA, Germany, and Japan and using the regression analysis, the paper identified factors or variables significantly affecting a country are manufacturing growth. However, it did not find out any such direct significant effect of the financial or real estate sector on the manufacturing industry. On the other hand, the productivity, export, and investment of the manufacturing industry are more important generally to the growth of manufacturing. The paper then further discusses and suggests policy implications on what a country should do to maintain sustainable manufacturing growth.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126333827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dmbs objectives are profitability, growth in assets and customer base. To achieve these Dmbs grant loans and advances to individuals, business organizations and government. Loan default could be rampant resulting from low quality of assets, high non-performing risk assets (credit risk) that may result in huge loan losses and thus reduction in bank profitability. This study investigates the impact of non-performing loans on Money deposit banks’ performance in Nigeria. Hypotheses were set and data were sourced from secondary data. The study used the confirmed ECM model (via residual and least square method of analyses. The results revealed that non performing loans have impact Deposit Money Banks performance within the period of study; whereas, the impact of the individually independent variables (net interest margin and deposit to loan.) varied. The study recommends, amongst others that, effective credit policy that is reflected in flexible tenure, restructuring of credit terms and conversion should be adopted in the Deposit Money banks. This policy could help reducing the tempo of nonperforming loan, such that as return on equity is increasing, the possibility of default would decline considerably.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129136729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of the analysis on the research problem are as follows. There were significant differences in interest in mathematics among the experimental class students who took the PBL group discussion class and in the general class in mathematics. The PBL group discussion class was found to have worked to positively change students' interest in math. Through the PBL group discussion class, students have become more confident in solving math problems. Therefore, it can be concluded that PBL group discussion classes improve students' interest in learning math. The turn of the month effect is present in only some of the breadth of market indices in the US but is very evident in the industry indices. Periods of extreme market conditions, like the downturn in 2007, do not show this turn of the month effect. While the turn of the month effect is present across the entire sample period for some indices, the earlier sub-period up to 1998 seems to account for much of this observation.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126039651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even if the developing economies did not suffer as much as the developed ones, they were influenced through the international trade and capital flows. India and Argentina were two of those developing countries that suffered from the global crisis, even if they are located in different hemispheres and had different conditions. Therefore, examining the impact of the global crisis on these countries and their policy responses to this crisis would help to have an insight into the worldwide financial crisis.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128771571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The structural adjustment programs (SAPs) introduced in Ghana in 1986 have contributed to increased foreign direct investment attraction in Ghana. The main purpose of this study is to use cointegration approach to determine the impact of the SAPs on gold exports in Ghana. The results show real exchange rate to be significant in the long run and all of the variables to be insignificant in the short run. The study concludes that these variables have not had any significant impact on gold exports from Ghana for the period under study. The study recommends that the Government of Ghana should restructure mining sector reforms and policies that can further liberalize the investment climate to attract more foreign direct investment and also increase domestic gold sector participation in the global economy.","PeriodicalId":132871,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Economic Policy","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129556151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
