Autorka zwraca uwagę na kontekst, w jakim funkcjonuje młodzież. Z jednej strony, na młodzież ma wpływ trudny okres transformacji ustrojowej. Z drugiej strony, postawy i aspiracje młodzieży są kształtowane przez otwarcie systemu na wpływy globalne. Przedmiotem analizy jest przestrzeń socjalizacyjna, w której funkcjonują młodzi obywatele krajów postkomunistycznych – przedstawiciele pierwszego pokolenia, którego młodość przypadła wyłącznie na nowy system będący w pewnym sensie ich wspólnym doświadczeniem pokoleniowym, odróżniającym ich od starszych. Co wypełnia tę przestrzeń i jaki jest status społeczny przekazów wysyłanych do młodych ludzi przez różne instytucje i grupy społeczne? Analiza objęła dziewięć krajów postkomunistycznych w Europie i Azji. Opiera się na różnego rodzaju istniejących źródłach – krajowych i międzynarodowych, zebranych we współpracy z partnerami zagranicznymi.","PeriodicalId":132275,"journal":{"name":"Youth in Central and Eastern Europe","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123949173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since youth work is not recognised formally as a profession, nor a function in Poland, those are non-governmental organisations that have enough space and freedom to explore various practices of youth work and advocate for youth policies, while collaborating with local, regional and national authorities.","PeriodicalId":132275,"journal":{"name":"Youth in Central and Eastern Europe","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124514165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 2010 the European Commission launched the Europe 2020 strategy which included a list of measures to reduce school dropout rates in the EU countries. The aim of this paper is to analyze the issue of dropout in upper secondary education (ISCED 3) in the education systems of 4 post-socialist Central European states (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia). Firstly, the paper describes and compares the education systems of these countries and the important changes of their education policies made after entering the EU. The analysis of Eurostat data shows that despite the decline of the average early school leaving rate in the EU countries from 13.8% to 10.2% between 2010 and 2019, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia are among the four member states whose dropout rates are rising. Through an overview of research studies, this paper then identifies the dominant topics and “weak spots” related to early school leaving in these countries.","PeriodicalId":132275,"journal":{"name":"Youth in Central and Eastern Europe","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114147365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
