The lack of public knowledge regarding the use of organic waste is also a major problem. The purpose of this activity is to increase public knowledge regarding the use of organic waste to become liquid organic fertilizer so that it has use value for the environment. The method used in this activity is counseling and demonstration. The community paid attention to the material presented and then continued with a demonstration of making and assisting in the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer. From the evaluation results, it was found that the community felt helped by this activity and gained knowledge about how to process household waste, especially organic waste. Community empowerment activities in Penimbung Village through training in the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer have again introduced the community to the concept of advanced and sustainable agriculture where the utilization of waste, apart from providing use value for the environment, can also reduce expenditure on purchasing fertilizers for agriculture.","PeriodicalId":131790,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Wicara Desa","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117201835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This village is a division of East Suradadi Village, established on November 3, 1938. Most of the people in this village work as crops (tomatoes and chilies) farmers. However, the lack of awareness related to the processing of agricultural products makes the community only depend on the livelihoods of farmers, whereas if the agricultural products are processed, they can make a product with high selling value. Therefore, the purpose of the University of Mataram Thematic Desapreneur Community Service Program for the period December 2022 - February 2023 is to help people create businesses by utilizing tomatoes through outreach and training in making tomato sauce. The stages carried out during the training were mixing ingredients, cooking, packaging, and marketing. The results obtained from this tomato sauce making training are that the people in Montong Baan Village can produce tomato sauce products that have been packaged and labeled and are ready to be marketed. Some of the agricultural areas in Tempos Village are corn, rice, honey, and several fruit plantations. One of the efforts to maximize the growth and productivity of plants is by applying compost. Compost Fertilizer is organic fertilizer derived from plant residues and animal waste that has undergone a process of decomposition or weathering. Socialization and training on the processing of agricultural waste or livestock waste into compost or organic fertilizer were tried. The application of the activity is carried out in a participatory manner, the procedure for this activity puts into practice the concept of integration between the socialization of lecture procedures and the direct application of directly linking residents. The socialization activity can be declared successful in terms of the participants' descriptions of the modules that have been informed and the enthusiasm of all participants can be said to be great. If the socialization participants are able to make processed products that are well exemplified and get a bonus of knowledge about making compost, starting from equipment and materials to the manufacturing process. So that the training on making compost can be declared a success. From the participants showing positive reactions related to product labeling and packaging, they felt optimistic that this could increase the selling value of the product itself and make it more desirable in the market. The compost produced in this practice can be used by residents for sprinkling on agricultural land, plantations, or rice fields. Therefore the existence of productive land must be managed optimally to maintain agricultural resources in a sustainable manner. The ease of obtaining chemical fertilizers instantly is a major factor in the use of these fertilizers, but it is feared that their continuous use can degrade the soil so that it will have an impact on production yields that are not optimal and reduce environmental quality. The Real Work Lecture (KKN) is then present as an effort to help the community to be able to independently get out of existing problems through the use of agricultural waste as a material that is used to be able to switch to using organic fertilizers.
