Number of algorithm are developed for object detection and recognition along with localization. In the current paper, a relative comparison of various object detecting algorithm in terms of speed is carried out and “You only look once (YOLO)” is selected for further studies. It is one of the prominent deep learning algorithm associated with object detection at real time. The algorithm scans the image only once to localize and detect multiple objects present in the image. Training is a memory and time intensive process, hence trained weights are directly used for computation. Based on the labels that are obtained from the detected objects their pricing information are obtained. This saves considerable amount of time when pricing information of objects are required in large numbers of multi-object images.","PeriodicalId":131517,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"1945 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129195990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this regard, a new approach for semantic segmentation of UAV videos is proposed by utilizing U-Net and Conditional Random Field. This algorithm incorporates temporal information to ensure temporal consistency in labelling. This work shows that Conditional Random Field algorithm along with temporal cues reduces the false positives and increases the accuracy of semantic segmentation. Moreover, the proposed method is quantitatively evaluated on ManipalUAVid dataset and achieved a mIoU of 0.88 which is significantly greater than traditional image based segmentation method such as U-Net.","PeriodicalId":131517,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"22 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123651827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also known as Uterine Electromyogram (Uterine-EMG). Since it is a non-invasive alternative, it is a safe and painless procedure to monitor uterine activity. In this paper, a wavelet transformation technique was used to preprocess the raw EHG signal, to remove artifacts present in it. A secondary time series was computed from the peak intervals of the EHG signals. This was followed by the extraction of the non-linear features from this time series. The classification of labor and non-labor signals was performed with a KNN algorithm. An accuracy of 90.32% was achieved with the KNN model. With supervised learning models, labor contractions were correctly identified in women who had just entered their third trimester but had not crossed the 37th week mark. With this knowledge, potential cases of preterm births could be identified. This knowledge could assist doctors in premeditating the prevention of still-births.","PeriodicalId":131517,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"145 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114416579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Early detection and corrective measures can prevent severe cases, mainly in early childhood. The gold standard method for the diagnosis of scoliosis is the measurement of spine curvature using Cobb angle. In this paper, a semi-automated approach for accurate estimation of Cobb angles from scoliosis radiographs using a difference matrix is proposed. Given the landmark points of the vertebral columns in the spine, the spinal mid-line is determined by curve fitting of the 4th degree polynomial. Using a difference matrix created by calculating slopes in key points along the curve, Cobb angles are calculated. Data used in this work is obtained from the Accurate Automated Spinal Curvature Estimation (AASCE) Challenge 2019. The method is evaluated using mean absolute error and symmetric mean absolute percentage error. The proposed method gives promising results and could be used in accurate estimation of Cobb angle for the diagnosis of scoliosis.","PeriodicalId":131517,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125261485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By virtue of its high speed and performance, Static RAM is commonly used as cache memory and main memory in many applications. A major challenge faced in design of SRAM Cells is Read Destruction. This work introduces Transmission Gate Differential 8T (TGD8T) SRAM Cell, in which Transmission Gates are used instead of Pass Transistors in feedback path of the Existing D8T SRAM Cell in order to minimize the voltage drop across the Pass Transistors. This reduces the amount of Read Destruction and accelerates the data transmission. The transmission gates have been implemented using both High Threshold Voltage (HVT) and Low Threshold Voltage (LVT) type MOSFETS. The amount of Read Destruction in TGD8T SRAM Cell is 66.59% lesser than that of the Existing D8T SRAM Cell. Further, the transient analysis of the Read Destruction in the proposed design shows a 29.45 % reduction in the Average Transient Time. The TGD8T SRAM Cell using LVT type MOSFETs offers lesser rise time and a lower voltage drop during data transmission over the model using HVT type MOSFETs. Analysis of Static Noise Margin (SNM) of the proposed cell using N-Curve Method shows 0.13% and 5% increase in current and voltage SNMs respectively showing no compromise in noise immunity when compared to the Existing D8T SRAM Cell. The proposed TGD8T SRAM Cell is implemented in Cadence Virtuoso using gpdk 45 nm technology at a supply voltage of 0.5 V.","PeriodicalId":131517,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117246124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adders are the basic building blocks of the various computational structures leading to wide applications in Digital Signal Processing, arithmetic, and logical units, microprocessors, and microcontrollers. Research on adders with optimal specifications is continuously carried out. The delay of an adder depends on the speed of the carry bit to reach the next bit position for addition. In this paper, we introduce and discuss a fast 64-bit parallel prefix adder design. The proposed novel design uses the advantage of the Ling adder design needed to suppress the area requirement and increase the computation speed compared to the existing algorithms. With a moderate increase in area and power, the adder gives a quality critical path delay of 21.9ns. Like other SCMLIs, the proposed multilevel switched-capacitor inverters do not require a backend H-bridge, in which four switches must withstand the peak output voltage. Therefore, total standing voltage (TSV) can be lowered. The switched capacitor configuration is used to auto-balance the capacitor by supplying the switches with appropriate pulses using phase disposition pulse width modulation method.","PeriodicalId":131517,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (DISCOVER)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114240454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Demand for high performance, high quality, cloud enabled, social media and security aware features in a limited time to market environment requires systems which solve the task of integrating the front ends with various back ends. The model of “Mobile Backend as a service” (MBaaS) offers a cloud server infrastructure with Application Programming Interface/Software Development Kits for development on various mobile, web and desktop platforms. This saves considerable amount of app development expense, time, as it eases up the backend development work, thereby enabling the developer to focus on functionality, its promotion and on the improvement of the user experience. Technical requirements and various features of both open source and commercial MBaaS products are compiled. The paper evaluates popular, open source products available for enterprise mobile, web and desktop applications, and documents the fundamental and common set of capabilities provided by MBaaS. The developers, technical architects and managers will benefit from the qualitative analysis of development, deployment and engagement services of each MBaaS platform.
