Method: for the analysis of color, 36 specimens were made (n = 6), disk-shaped, from an array of steel. For each specimen, was held 5 measurements and the values of L*, a*, b* e L*, C*, h*. Results: It was found that the color A2 differed statistically from the provided by vita (p<0.0001), and statistical differences between the composite resins were not observed (p=0.56). The composite resins Opallis and Fill Magic of color A3 differed statistically from the provided by vita (p<0.0001), but the same was not observed with the composite resin Filtek Z250 and differences between the composite resins were observed (p=0.56), being the composite resin Opallis and Fill Magic similar to each other and statistically different from the Filtek Z250. Additionally, it was evaluated the penetration extent of FS and its remineralizing effect on the enamel of deciduous teeth using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM). Method: The sample comprised 44 human deciduous teeth. The 44 crowns were divided randomly into four groups: group A (FS after demineralization), group B (FS without demineralization), group C (only demineralization), and group D (control group). FS at 0.45 mol/L -1 was used daily (15 days) and demineralization was done by pH cycling (7 days). Then, three longitudinal slices of the crowns were photographed using PLM. The degree of penetration of the lesion or stain was measured in micrometers, as well as the distance between the external enamel surface and the core of lesion. Results: Group A showed a dark stain on the outer surface of enamel larger than the group B. It is suggested, a remineralizing effect when comparing groups, A and C. The mean depth and standard deviation for groups A, B, and C were 4.27µm (±1.49), 3.72 µm (±1.68) and 5.00 µm (±1.84), respectively. No dark stains were observed in group D. Conclusion: FS stained the demineralized and non-demineralized human deciduous teeth. However, dark stains in the non-demineralized teeth were smaller or absent, than in the demineralized teeth. This study aims to demonstrate the importance of the use of Removable Temporary Partial Dentures to of the Overlay type in the oral rehabilitation of patients through a review of the literature. It was used the main electronic databases of cataloging bibliography (Pubmed, Scielo, BVS), in the period 2000 to 2016, employing the following descriptors: Vertical Dimension, Removable Partial Prosthetic, Coating of Dentures. Were identified 35 articles, 16 of which were excluded because they did not fit the established criteria for inclusion, resulting in a total of nineteen 19 selected articles. The removable partial prosthetic overlay is areversible treatment option, the changes in structures of the tooth remnants are minimal, clinically it is easy to be performed, in addition to the reduced cost and time to be smaller. Although there are benefits, care should be taken with the oral hygiene of the prosthesis, topical applications of fluoride and frequent visits to the dentist.
