A possible solution to this problem is to introduce a sliding mode control (SMC), well known for its robustness to uncertainties and disturbances, into optimal control whenever the uncertainties are present. This can make optimal control more robust and applicable to real energy systems. Though SMC and optimal control are two control strategies, it is possible integrate them together. In this work, combining (SMC) and linear quadratic regulator (LQR) will be analyzed, designed and applied to the new kind of wind turbine model, the so-called Inverted Pendulum Wind Turbine (IPWT). This new approach would allow to place offshore wind farms in deep water. The Reynolds number of the steady flow based on the pipe diameter is Re=121700. The results show that the quasi-steady approach of representing unsteady friction is valid during the initial phase for relatively large decelerations. For higher decelerations, the unsteady wall shear stress is consistently higher than the quasi-steady values obtained from the velocity profiles. An examination of the range of applicability of the instantaneous-acceleration model shows that the empirical coefficient of unsteady friction is closely linked to the deceleration intensity. In both studies we used plastic waste bottles (PET bottles) in cavity walls and roofs. The idea is to increase insulation by reducing convection fluxes in wall cavities using cheap insulating materials. We recorded temperatures in different rooms of each house before and after insulation as well as the ambient temperature outside the houses for a long period of time. But PV generators provide direct current. So, it is necessary to use inverters. Multilevel inverters seem very suitable for this task. In this paper, we present a comparative study between three multilevel inverters: 3 levels, 5 levels and 15 levels. These inverters have the same topology and are controlled by the same law: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Our interest concerns the magnitude and the quality of generated voltage. The 15L multilevel inverter supplied by 36V PV gives a 230V AC voltage. So it's the most suitable for supplying normal electric equipments. During this phase of the project, the experimental implementation of the Wind Turbine Emulator (WTE) for Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) would consist of separately-excited DC motor. The DC motor is controlled by regulator hysteresis. The model of the wind turbine and the control of the DC motor, which emulate the wind turbine, are implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. The developed WTE allows a WECS to be analyzed or reconfigured for design studies without need of real wind turbines. The DC Motor and its control actuate as the WT. The proposed approach was implemented on DS1104 real-time interface card and Matlab/Simulink real-time control programming. Heat sources are: i) heat source due to the endothermic steam reforming reaction and ii) heat source due to the exothermic water gas shift reaction. This study is studied by a 2-D numerical simulation, in the plane perpendicular to the gases flow, and requires a coupling of transport phenomena of energy and mass species. The law of flow is governed by Darcy's law. The gases are air and fuel. The inlet fuel is composed by a mixture of methane CH4, hydrogen H2, carbon monoxide CO, carbon dioxide CO2 and steam H2O. Results are obtained by developing a program in FORTRAN language using the finite difference method. Although this situation has been improved since the appearance of the bond graph approach, able to jointly describe both continuous and discrete behaviors exhibited by some physical systems, nowadays it is possible to obtain very precise models which help us in the study and design of such circuits. This work gives an overview on single-phase grid converter based on seven level diode clamped multilevel inverter for photovoltaic system with maximum power tracking. In the first part, we develop a bond graph model of the inverter. A bond graph MPPT strategy is developed, the performance of the algorithm is studied. Then, we present the bond graph model of solar cell. Thus, we study a cascade constituted by tow photovoltaic cell panels - five-level NPC VSI - permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) fed by photovoltaic PV energy systems at different illuminations. At the full solar intensity, the maximum power point of current/voltage I/V characteristic of the PV modules is designed to be at the rated conditions of the machines.
