In this paper, the distance error is reduced by using a special CNC machined base with the accuracy of 0.01 mm. The explosion light was converted into electrical signals by using photodiodes, the delay time was measured by using two oscilloscopes connected through an ethernet router to a computer and a virtual instrument was made in Labview data acquisition software. The measurements showed that the measurement conducted with oscilloscopes gives a consistent result.","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122403296","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel method of reconstruction for CS of ECG signal is proposed, which uses a time-normalized agnostic dictionary created by the principal component analysis (PCA) of training signals. The proposed method exploits a QRS detector to split the input signal into variable-size frames and shows significantly better reconstruction quality compared against traditional orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) approach with Mexican hat and Symlet4 wavelet dictionaries.","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128739328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed platform is programmed in the C# programming language for more efficient real-time analysis of the obtained spatial data and future modularity - allowing the integration of other data sources (e.g., thermal sensors, accelerometer data or electrocardiogram recordings) to create a sophisticated monitoring platform. The primary intended use of the platform is to monitor elderly people living alone and, in case of fall detection, transmit relevant information to relatives or medical staff and/or perform specific actions (e.g., turn off kitchen appliances).","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121158377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method based on evaluating predictability in reconstructed state spaces is used here to detect causality. The results show that the predictability of the driven Rössler system is improved by incorporating information about the present state of the driver to the prediction process. The predictability improvement correctly reveals the presence and the direction of the coupling. However, causal analysis of the time-reversed test signals does not allow to uncover that the cause precedes the effect. In addition, causal analysis of complex systems may also encounter other complications such as transient chaos, or irreversibility of dissipative chaos sometimes masked by the dominance of limit cycles.","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121210477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers have been extensively working on methods for early diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, with the goal of decreasing these death tolls. In Electrocardiographic Imaging (ECGI), the electrical activity of the heart is estimated from electrocardiographic measurements obtained from the body surface, using densely distributed electrodes, and a mathematical model of the body. This technique has advantages over classical electrocardiography (ECG) since it provides detailed information about the cardiac electrical activity without invasively recording measurements from the heart. From a mathematical point of view, this estimation problem is called the “inverse problem of ECG.” However, this problem is ill-posed, and a priori information should be used to regularize the solutions. This paper presents an overview of several regularization methods with emphasis on statistical estimation methods such as Bayesian Estimation and Kalman Filtering. These techniques are advantageous over traditional methods due to their flexibility in incorporating the spatial and temporal information of the heart potentials for solving the inverse ECG problem, and yielding confidence intervals that help assess the accuracy of the solutions.","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133448379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here we show the non-invasive monitoring of oxidative stress of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells using biological autoluminescence (BAL). The physical nature of this specific phenomenon is briefly introduced, and the results of BAL measurements from yeast cell solutions with the presence of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ions are presented. The results confirm the assumption that the BAL intensity is mediated by hydroxyl radical, produced by the Fenton reaction, which causes oxidation of cells and initiates biochemical reactions leading to BAL generation. Since oxidative stress induced BAL from yeast cells has not been widely analyzed before in the literature, our results could be a useful contribution to this field of research.","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121323880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system's components are represented by a set of selected and simultaneously recorded variables. Omitting observations of a relevant variable in a system, the Granger causality analysis can lead to false detections. Haufe et al. (2013) suggested using time reversal for testing Granger causality to alleviate the problem of spurious causality. Here we investigate the behavior of the so-called time-reversed Grange causality on different nonlinear dynamical systems with a known causal structure. As our experimental results show, the impact of a hidden influential variable cannot be excluded by using the time-reversed Granger causality. On the other hand, the time-reversed Granger causality, by the definition, can lead to false rejections in the case of a bidirectional causal connection between variables.","PeriodicalId":129350,"journal":{"name":"2019 12th International Conference on Measurement","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123879846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
