The structure of the antenna, composed of three types of horn, lens, and prism antennas with different directivities, produces a radiation pattern that had both a narrow FOV at a long-range detection and wide FOV at shortrange detection. A fabricated antenna achieved an antenna gain of 21.5 dBi and a 3-dB beam-width of 22 degrees at boresight and an antenna gain of more than 15 dBi within an angle of ±35 degrees in azimuth. The antenna had a matching band-width of 7 GHz, where the reflection co-efficient, S11, was below −10 dB.","PeriodicalId":128207,"journal":{"name":"2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114654973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, there are other numerous applications like isolators, filters, and couplers that deploy the phase shifter as an essential component. To implement the proposed phase shifter the Ridge Gap Waveguide (RGW) structure is selected. RGW technology has the advantage of wideband operation over other technologies. Moreover, RGW structures have lower losses and better performance in the millimeter wave band. This work introduces a new RGW structure that deploys ferrite slabs to make a differential phase shifter with very compact size and ultra-flat phase. The proposed non-reciprocal 90° differential phase shifter has less than 10° of phase variations over the operating band.","PeriodicalId":128207,"journal":{"name":"2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114689919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By employing an array with two horns and lenses where a diameter of the lens was half of whole output-aperture length, a height of the antenna was reduced while keeping an antenna efficiency high. The fabricated antenna with commercially available materials had the height of 14 mm and achieved the antenna efficiency of 45.6% and a frequency bandwidth of 5 GHz where reflection coefficient S11 was below −10 dB. By adopting a fully relativistic formulation of the problem, special focus is placed on retardation effects in the energy loss of a charged particle due to electronic excitations in graphene, which include its plasmon polariton modes, as well as the energy that is emitted from graphene in the form of transition radiation. Using both empirical and ab initio models for the dynamic in-plane conductivity of graphene allows the exploration of energy losses at frequencies ranging from the terahertz to the ultraviolet.","PeriodicalId":128207,"journal":{"name":"2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM)","volume":"366 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121731994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new H-polarized 1D-periodic substrate integrated gap waveguide leaky-wave antenna (SIGW-LWA) is designed, which has good scanning in backward and forward quadrant simultaneously. A dual-beam radiation pattern is achieved due to simultaneous excitation of two space harmonics (β-1 and β-2). The beams scanning range for the proposed antenna started from -67° to -35° for the proper wave and 16° to 28° for the improper wave. The peak gains of the antenna for the proper and improper waves are 17.4 dBi and 16.2 dBi, respectively, with less than 1.3 dBi variation in both quadrants. The proposed antenna has wide impedance bandwidth and narrow fan beams through the whole operating frequency band of 59–67 GHz.","PeriodicalId":128207,"journal":{"name":"2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM)","volume":"75 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131550766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For small global navigation satellite system (GNSS) adaptive arrays, we show that this maximum can be easily achieved if the interferer polarizations are random. Since the 3D printed structures end up having rough surfaces due to laying separate layers of the melted plastic on top of each other, this phenomena should be also considered in the simulation model. The roughness of the surface depends on the printing tip dimensions and the printing conditions. The whole structure is printed with a 3D printer and then is dipped into a low viscosity conductive solution to form the conductive layer on the inner walls of the waveguide. The waveguide system then is fed using coaxial cables. The results show the roughness can influence the transmission loss especially if the conductivity of the coated conductor layer is not as high as the conventional waveguide.","PeriodicalId":128207,"journal":{"name":"2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129561869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, the need for antennas utilizing the same technology is growing fast to provide complete solutions to the applications in the millimeter wave band. Both linear polarization and circular polarization are deployed in the communication systems depending on the required system needs. Antennas with circular polarization have a remarkable advantage over the linear antennas since they overcome the polarization mismatching and misalignment problems. Here, a circularly polarized antenna that deploys a compact ferrite based differential phase shifter is introduced. The proposed antenna has an impedance matching bandwidth of 16.67% at 30 GHz with a 3 dB axial ratio. Simulations are obtained by two numerical packages, where both results have an excellent agreement with each other.","PeriodicalId":128207,"journal":{"name":"2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129568360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
