The phenomenon is driven by the growing seafood industry market with 17.4 percent compound annual growth (CAGR). Besides, the phenomenon also helped the rising trend statistics for online retailing as well as the growing market of online grocery. The purpose of this article is to study the direct relationship between the determinants (Attitudes, Freshness, Product Variety, Perceived Risk, Perceived Novelty, and Trust) and online purchase intention towards purchasing fresh seafood. This study also intends to examine the mediating effect of attitudes between the determinants (Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use) and online purchase intention towards seafood. Data from 202 samples are collected and analysed using the partial least square methodology via an online survey. The findings showed that attitudes were significantly affected by perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Furthermore, Attitudes and Perceived Novelty, freshness, and Trust have a significant effect on online purchase intention of seafood, whereas Product Variety has insignificant effect on purchasing seafood by ordering online. It is also proposed that attitudes have significantly mediated the effects of perceived usefulness and Perceived Ease of use on online purchase intention of seafood. The findings have significant implications for Seafood Company to provide an efficient and effective online grocery website based on the need of online customers.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":"2007 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82466207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, Malaysian SMEs needs to empower the entrepreneurial competencies among women-owned entrepreneurs and the support of Malaysian government. In this study, the questionnaire survey has been selected as the data collection method for this research. A total of 116 responses from the women-owned entrepreneur in Malaysia were obtained and analysis was carried out using Smart PLS software to generate findings. The results reveal that strategic competencies, opportunity competencies and conceptual competencies have significantly impacted the business performance of women-owned entrepreneurs among SMEs in Malaysia. The moderating effect of government support on the relationship between strategic competencies, opportunity competencies and business performance proved to be significant. Surprisingly, the interaction of government support between conceptual competencies and business performance is not supported in the findings. Hence, the current paper will further provide a women-owned SME with substantial information to focus on fostering entrepreneurial competencies within their respective companies to ensure peak business performance. Findings from this study anticipated being extremely useful to the Malaysian government, in specific Policy Makers. With these results, authorities will be better informed when implementing new strategies and programmes to enhance the skills of entrepreneurs, which will result in better business performance.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85978440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to The Uses and Gratification theory (U>), individuals have needs to satisfy to feel gratified; they use SM to satisfy these personal needs to achieve self-gratification. Gratifications differ for individuals depending on their background and types of SM medium used. Question is, what are the motives behind SM user’s activeness behaviour in their medium of choice in Malaysia’s scenario? Seven common motives, namely, watching, impressing, acting, surveillance, documentation, coolness and creativity were hypothesized to have significant influences over SM users’ activeness behaviour. The study disseminated online surveys to targeted and willing active SM users in the research; it resulted in 397 useable data for analysis. Overall, the study managed to identify four motives, namely, watching, impressing, documentation and coolness as the drivers behind activeness behaviour of SM users in Malaysia. The study also identifies FB as the most popular SM, followed by IG. Further segmentation analysis on each FB-active (n=125), IG-active (n=100) and other SM-active (n=82) found that the main motive for FB users was to impress (impressing) others; for IG users, the main reason was to watch others (watching). As for other SM-active, three motives emerged, i.e. watching, surveillance and documentation. The findings imply the usefulness of U> in explaining individual’s motives for being active SM user as well as importance of motives behind activeness of SM user’s behaviour for different types of SMs.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81700649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Empirical data was collected in the form of semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with 26 alumni from eight selected public HEIs of Pakistan, which was later analysed through employing Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). This paper highlights six superordinate themes which indicated that alumni held strong determination to engage with institutions to meet the financial sustainability challenge, provided that institutions observed adequate communication and engagement efforts with them. Theoretically, this paper extended the use of S-O-R framework in the higher education philanthropic domain where institutional engagement efforts and personal connection, coupled with emotional bonding, led to alumni engagement with institutions. In addition, this study also contextually extended the use of social exchange theory where the inclination of alumni to engage with institutions is driven by their sense of indebtedness and serving the community.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73927818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is however found that little attention has been given in previous studies in looking at innovation culture among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Given that innovation provides a competitive advantage for SMEs, they hence need to inculcate innovation culture within themselves in order to achieve their business performance objectives. The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of innovation culture towards innovation performance and the influence of social capital (relational capital and social network) on innovation culture. Additionally, government support will also be investigated as it mediates between innovation culture and performance in the growth of SMEs in Malaysia. A quantitative method design was employed in this research to produce interesting findings. Research findings indicate that social capital has a significant impact on innovation culture, but an indirect impact on innovation performance. Government support also plays an important role in strengthening the link between innovation culture and performance. This study contributes to our understanding of the factors that promote the innovation culture within business organizations. As such, it is hoped that this study will encourage researchers to establish more definitive evidence on the culture of innovation among Malaysian SMEs, thereby creating the basic framework for further investigation.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":"46 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80583771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Faraid implementation may cause issues on land distribution. When a small piece of land is subdivided among the legal heirs, the portion of land received might be insufficient to even build a house. The awareness on Takharuj concept which is based on mutual consent in inheritance distribution may help solve this problem. The aim of this research is to optimize land distribution and land use. Specific assumptions were made to lineage, family ties and land criteria. This article reports the use of Goal Programming to formulate a Takharuj-based model that can solve issues regarding productivity of land that has been distributed using Faraid laws. Goals set for the programming were to minimize the deviations for the portion of land and to minimize the number of heirs who owns the piece of land after combination. A list of possible combinations of the arable land size was generated. The model was able to select the optimal combination based on the minimum weighted sum of deviations from the goals that were set. Therefore, this research has successfully provided a useful Takharuj-based model to optimize the arable land size where the land owned by each qualified heir can be categorized as a productive land to be developed.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48470668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bukhori. The theory stems from the author’s analysis of several problems: there are many words that do not reflect the original meanings, particularly in figurative expression, the other words have been wrongly translated, and some words in the source text have not been translated into their target language. The result is that the translation given seems awkward and blurred. Descriptive analysis approach is used in this qualitative research based on the generalization of a corpus literary study, that the collection of standardized samples would yield a reliable response. Data was obtained using a Simple Random Sampling (SRS) with a fishbowl drawing method from 11 chapters of the story evaluated in four categories of FL: metonymy, synecdoche, paradox, and hyperbole. The translator used four translation methods: Literal Translation (LT), Free Translation (FT), Idiomatic Translation (IT), and Semantic Translation (ST). The consequence of the analysis reports 3 samples of LT for synecdoche, two for paradox, and one for hyperbole. There are two examples of metonymy, one in paradox and one in hyperbole. One IT sample appears in the metonymy and one ST sample appears in the hyperbole. Furthermore, this work is expected to help the readers to resolve translation problems, especially in literary texts.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47405154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, almost all literary inspirations behind their creative works can be traced to reflections of their vibrant life experiences. However, these experiences, coupled with facts expressed creatively, differ from those of scholars in their presentations of information, where it is argued that writers also depict elements of imaginations and express them in aesthetic ways. With this claim in view, this study aims to examine the prominent Islamic literary features in nine selected novels by Najeeb Al-Kilani, one of the pioneers of contemporary Arabic and Islamic literature. Najeeb’s literary works have contributed immensely to the literary evolution of Arabic and Islamic literature with his novels filling the annals in the mid-twentieth of literary scholarship century. Thus, it is concluded that Najib’s immediate environment and his own meaningful life experiences have been reflected in his novels suggesting their own life-changing impacts. Among Najib’s notable experiences influencing his literary works are his village, hometown community and the prison society he experienced. Equally important are his medical profession and the roles of the Sheikhs in the reform of the society.","PeriodicalId":12715,"journal":{"name":"global journal al thaqafah","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42463785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
