More explicitly, a friendly jammer transmits a jamming signal enabling secure communication between the source and the destination, in the presence of an untrusted relay. In return, the source compensates the potential jammer with an access to its bandwidth for a fraction of its time period. In addition, cooperative jammer defines its jamming power through Nash-Equilibrium for improving the secrecy rate. In our proposed scheme, we employ only one jammer and place it on different locations in order to analyze the secrecy rate achieved and the utility of the jammer. Additionally, we fix the positions of the source and the destination while the relay is moved at different locations.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115731803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These are addressed here by applying Hamiltonian methods to incorporate distributed contact forces into a modal framework for discrete-time simulation of the dynamics of a stiff, damped string. The resulting algorithms have spectral accuracy, are unconditionally stable, and require solving a multivariate nonlinear equation that is guaranteed to have a unique solution. Exemplifying results are presented and discussed in terms of accuracy, convergence, and spurious high-frequency oscillations.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116922711","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of the households own renewable energy systems and energy storage systems (ESS) and sell the excess renewable energy to the residences that need electrical energy. The proposed strategy comprises methods that provide benefits for the residential electricity users and for the load aggregator. Specifically, we propose an off-line algorithm that schedules the renewable resources integration by trading energy between the renewable energy producers and buyers. Moreover, we propose a geometric programming based optimization method that uses the ESS for balancing the community's power grid load and for reducing the grid consumption cost. Simulations show that the proposed method may lead to a community's grid consumption cost reduction of 10.5%. It may also achieve balanced load profiles with peak to average ratio (PAR) close to unity, the average PAR reduction being 52%.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127609925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our waveform design scheme is conducted based on minimization of the integrated sidelobe level of designed waveforms, which is formulated as a quartic non-convex optimization problem. We start from simplifying the quartic optimization problem and then transform it into a quadratic form. By means of the majorization-minimization technique that seeks to find the solution of a corresponding quadratic optimization problem, we resolve the design of waveforms for MIMO radar. Corresponding algorithms that enable good correlations of the designed waveforms and meanwhile show faster convergence as compared to their counterparts are proposed and then tested.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126030531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventional methods based on Phase Only Correlation (POC) take correlation between a image and its shifted image, and then estimate the non-integer shift by fitting the model equation. The problem with using POC is that the true peak of the POC function may not match the estimated peak of the fitted model equation. This causes error in non-integer shift estimation. By calculating directly in the phase region, the proposed method allows the estimation of decimal shift through least squares approximation. Also by utilizing the characteristics of the natural image, the proposed method limits adoption range for least squares approximation. By these improvements, the proposed method improves the estimation and achieves high accuracy.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126061885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By considering that the information signal of the desired IR may be eavesdropped by ERs if ERs are malicious, we investigate the secrecy performance of the target MISO SWIPT system when imperfect channel state information (CSI) is available and adopted for transmit antenna selection at the BS. Considering that each eavesdropping link experiences independent not necessarily identically distributed Rayleigh fading, the closed-form expressions for the exact and the asymptotic secrecy outage probability are derived and verified by simulation results.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114761471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The composite of these two timely concepts is a promising candidate technology for emerging 5G systems since the GFDM waveform is advantageous to flexible spectrum use whereas full-duplex operation can significantly improve spectral efficiency. The main technical challenge in full-duplex transceivers at large is to mitigate their inherent self-interference due to simultaneous transmission and reception. In the case of GFDM that is non-orthogonal by design, interference cancellation becomes even more challenging since the interfering signal is subject to intricate coupling between all subchannels. Thus, we first develop a sophisticated frequency-domain cancellation architecture for removing all the self-interference components. Furthermore, by exploiting the specific structure of the interference pattern, we further modify the scheme into one that allows flexible control and reduction of computational complexity. Finally, our simulation results illustrate the trade-off between cancellation performance and system complexity, giving insights into the implementation of interference cancellation when we aim at achieving both low error rate and low complexity.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115121682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are many inaccurate image tags on the Internet, and it is very laborious to investigate the percentage of tags that are incorrect. In this paper, we propose a new method for creating an image recognition model that can be used even when the image data set includes many incorrect tags. Our method has two superior features. First, our method automatically measures the reliability of annotations and does not require any parameter adjustment for the percentage of error tags. This is a very important feature because we usually do not know how many errors are included in the database, especially in actual Internet environments. Second, our method iterates the error modification process. It begins with the modification of simple and obvious errors, gradually deals with much more difficult errors, and finally creates the high-performance recognition model with refined annotations. Using an object recognition image database with many annotation errors, our experiments showed that the proposed method successfully improved the image retrieval performance in approximately 90 percent of the image object categories.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123418117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, simulations were conducted to investigate the performance of two directed functional connectivity measures, the Adaptive Directed Transfer Function (ADTF) and the Adaptive Partial Directed Coherence (APDC), in combinations with two graph measures, the out-degree and the shortest path, to localize the SOZ. Afterwards the method was applied to the seizure of an epileptic patient, recorded with 113-channel iEEG and localization was compared with the subsequent resection that rendered the patient seizure free. We found both in simulations and in the patient data that the ADTF combined with the out-degree and shortest path resulted in correct SOZ localization. We can conclude that ADTF combined with out-degree or shortest path are most optimal to localize the SOZ from a high number of iEEG channels.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115339758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Dual-IS and KL divergences define convex fidelity functions, whereas the IS divergence defines a nonconvex one. The SNMF problem is formulated as minimizing the divergence-based fidelity function penalized by the ℓ1 and row-block ℓ1 norms subject to the nonnegativity constraint. Simulation results show that (i) the use of the Dual-IS and KL divergences yields better performance than the squared Euclidean distance and that (ii) the use of the Dual-IS divergence prevents from false alarms efficiently.","PeriodicalId":127068,"journal":{"name":"2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)","volume":"77 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121031633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
