The contribution of telecommunications and technological applications to surgical care has been documented in the scientific literature. The purpose of this study was to describe mobile phones’ applications in the care\u0000provision to surgical patient. A review of the contemporary literature was conducted on the database PubMed/Medline and the search engine Google Scholar with keywords. Data were extracted according to eligibility criteria, analyzed and synthesized. The literature review revealed that mobile phones’ applications are evident during the perioperative care, especially preoperatively and in postoperative follow up. These applications were found to have a positive impact on the surgical patient, the health\u0000personnel and the health care organizations, enhancing safety and quality as well as a patient-centered model of the care provided. Moreover, these findings form the basis for further research in the care continuum, from hospital to post hospitalization care.

The instructor’s education in the area is crucial to the success of the program.\u0000Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a sexeducationintervention to sex educators (school teachers and health visitors) in Primary Education in Cyprus and the investigation of the effectiveness of their cooperation in teaching the subject.\u0000Methodology: The sample of the educational intervention consisted of 18 people (12 health visitors and 6 primary school teachers). The research tools used were the semi-structured questionnaire, the Greek self-esteem measurement scale, the observation and the interview protocols. For the statistical analysis of the data, the statistical package of data analysis SPSS version 22 was used, namely the frequency distribution methods (cumulative frequency), t-test analysis for dependent samples and qualitative\u0000analysis of the interviews.\u0000Results: The results revealed that there were differences in the averages (means) before and after the educational intervention in the perceptions of the sample about the characteristics of the sex education instructor (20.27 / 23.00) and the level that the sample ranks itself in these characteristics (18.88 / 21.33), which were statistically significant (p = 0.40, p = 0.03 respectively). In addition, it was found that the\u0000majority of the sample wants to cooperate in the teaching of sex education.\u0000Conclusions: The findings suggest that the educational intervention applied was effective as it improved the perceptions, knowledge, skills, abilities and comfort of the sample in teaching sex education. In addition, for more effective teaching of sex education, the need for cooperation of teachers and health visitors was identified. Therefore, it can be assumed that both pre and in-service trainingin the area\u0000of sex education as well as encouragement of cooperation between professionals will improve the effectiveness of sex education programs in schools.

These people are exposed to a variety of experiences, which affect their health and increase their susceptibility to various diseases during all stages of the migration progress. The purpose of this literature review was to investigate the impact of refugee-migration flow in Europe on public health. The access of these people to health services is an important aspect of their integration into society and of safeguarding public health. However, today, few EU countries provide equal access to health services for both migrants and refugees, as well as for the wider population of the host country. The range of health issues that can be associated with the migration of the populations is inevitably wide. This includes communicable and non-communicable diseases as well as work-related injuries. Further development of guidelines on access to health services is therefore needed, in order to improve the level of health and to avoid the emergence of secondary cases. Thus, the integration of refugees and migrants into the host\u0000countries will be reinforced and therefore public health will be safeguarded.

Pain is particularly common and extremely worrying for these patients, especially in metastases. Such a situation imposes an approach that would improve the quality of life and would provide specialized medical care which is, according to WHO, the definition of Palliative Care. There have been many efforts to recognize and establish the human right of pain relief, in order to promote the enforcement of human dignity and the protection of Public Health. However, from the thorough study of the literature on this subject, it emerges that much more could be done in that direction. There is a lag firstly in health policy making to prevent and adopt palliative care in health care and health systems. Secondly, there is also a lag in continuing education of health professionals in the treatment and management of pain, and the information of patients and their relatives about their rights. Another obstacle is the problem in opioid accessibility, that are in the treatment of pain, and finally there are social, cultural and economic problems that are to be resolved. Relief from pain, especially in patients with end-stage cancer, is a major public health and community issue. Good cooperation of all (health scientists, scientists, patients, relatives, governments, international organizations) and the exchange of knowledge and information can overall bring very important changes\u0000that would go beyond any obstacles and would bring us one step closer to conquering the relief from pain at the end of life.

The economic evaluation of health technology consists of the input-output analysis of any intervention related to the promotion, prevention and restoration of health, and is substantiated mainly through cost-minimization analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis and cost-benefit analysis. Cost-impact analyses in the field of health provide substantiated answers not only on the basis of economic, but also social and technological criteria, in order to coincide with the rapid developments of our times. The present article aims to highlight and analyze the basic methods of economic evaluation of Health Technologies with their particular characteristics, as well as to attribute advantages and disadvantages of each method.\u0000The material for this work is the result of a thorough search through the literature, both in Greek and foreign languages, and through online sources.

It was found that the elderly is\u0000the portion of the population that is at greater risk in the COVID-19 epidemic and if they get sick, they have a greater risk of dying. This group is particularly vulnerable to infections due to a weakened immune system, comorbidities, including respiratory diseases, hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease. The balance that has been accomplished in the past between age-related disorders and good quality of life and health is now under high pressure. It is therefore very important to protect the elderly and if isolation can reduce the transmission of the disease and save their lives, it should be implemented, in order to maintain their quality of life as much as possible.\u0000Compliance with the instructions and recommendations of the WHO and other national, regional, international organizations can significantly reduce the risk of spreading the disease. The challenges within health professionals in health care in a multicultural society are inevitable, as health users "carry" different cultures. The refusal of health users to perform medical procedures vital to their health, mainly for religious reasons, raises both legal and moral issues\u0000as well as practical ones. The refusal to transfuse blood for religious reasons must, on the one hand, follow the ethical principles governing health professionals and, on the other, the content of the relevant rights of health users, in order to avoid induced moral, legal and practical conflicts on both sides. To this end, based on the literature review, the application and enjoyment of the rights of the members involved under the cultural perspective of health professionals are considered of primary importance. The cultural competence training of health professionals will be a key element of individualization and holistic approach to managing the challenges, as well as removing the inequalities required by health care in a multicultural society.

Aim: The aim was to define the results of this improvement effort using quality indexes of hospital unit services and focusing on patients coming to hospital’s emergency rooms (ER). Methods: Firstly, randomized and anonymous questionnaires were used to collect the data. Participants (N = 200), aged 20 to 60 years, came as patients in the Emergency Department of Hippocratio, Thessaloniki’s General Hospital during from 1/10/18 to 31/12/2018. Participants in the survey were asked to answer on a 5-point Likert scale as follows: 1=Not at all, 2=Little, 3=Pretty much, 4=Very much, 5=Very much. Statistical analysis of the survey data was performed with the IBM statistical package - SPSS Statistics v. 24.0 version for Windows. Results: The results emphasize the importance of evaluating the quality of care provided by assessing patients’ satisfaction through indicators in the Emergency Department of Hippocratio General Hospital in Thessaloniki. In particular, patients' satisfaction as they enter the Emergency Department was found higher concerning the medical-nursing services provided than the interaction with the administrative staff due to lack of staff. Conclusions: Despite the shortcomings of the hospital, the general level of quality of its services was considered to be sufficient in all areas. Therefore, potential improvements in service quality could be suggested to hospital unit management and lead to a general improvement in the visitor - patient experience.

Passengers at risk are those with heart or respiratory problems. Cardiopulmonary arrest, burns and gastrointestinal problems are the main reasons for first aid. The purpose of this review is to present the most common emergency health problems that may occur during a flight, as well as the first aid equipment available on the aircraft. To achieve this goal, a literature review of articles related to this field in Pubmed and Google Scholar databases was carried out in the period 2010-2020.\u0000Most conditions are treated by the crew with a simple painkiller. However, there are more complex conditions that require a different treatment, such as oxygen administration to patients with respiratory problems. In some cases, medical advice and assistance is sought from passengers who are healthcare professionals. Some companies require crews to be trained and certified every two years for the use of automated external defibrillators, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation. All aircrafts have an emergency medical kit with a limited number of drugs and universal precaution kit in cases where there is a risk of communicable disease. Due to the spread of COVID-19, the World Health Organization has issued specific guidelines for both protecting crews from the virus and treating a passenger who may have been infected with the virus.
