Thus, there was a crucial absence of care for the mentally ill as there were no corresponding psychiatric hospitals. The time period examined is characterized by the gradual development of psychiatry and the marginalization of traditional practices, at a relatively slow pace. However, \u0000the focus on it aspires to provide useful information for the development of the bases of psychiatric hospitals policies. \u0000This paper aims to investigate the development of psychiatric hospitals policy in the Greek state in the historical and social context of the 19th century, in order to highlight the foundations for the advancement \u0000of this social policy sector, which were developed in a more organized and thorough way in the 20th century. For this purpose, a bibliographic review was made, which was based on the search for reviews published \u0000in international scientific journals, in English and Greek, during the period 2021, regarding the development of psychiatric hospitals and the provided psychiatric care in Greece, the period of the newly formed Greek \u0000state. The methodology is based on the literature review of data collected through Google Scholar, Pubmed, through publications, articles, and doctoral dissertations.

When we talk about internet addiction, we are referring to problematic \u0000internet use that is associated with significant social, psychological and occupational dysfunction.\u0000Purpose: To identify whether the citizens of Patras, in the current period, are addicted to the internet.\u0000Materials-method: Young’s questionnaire which containing 20 questions was used. The sample (n=527) were citizens from Patras. The statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 25.\u0000Results: Participants had a score from 10-73 (mean, 31.52) which considered “average online user” who has control over use. More precisely, 30.4% of the sample answered that it often happens to them to stay online longer than intended while 53.1% of the sample prefers fun with friends instead of the excitement to internet. Also, 52.6% answered that they have not tried to hide their time spent online and 33% believed that they do not create new relationships through Internet. It is important to mention that 62.8% of the participants state that most people feel depressed, moody or nervous when they are offline and they do not overcome these feeling even if they are online. Furthermore, participants who lived in an urban area had a higher score (r = .087, p<0.05) than those who lived in rural and island areas. Finally, participants with the highest level of education (University degree) had a higher score (r = -.088, p<0.05) than the participants with middle school and high school education.\u0000Conclusions: Internet addiction seems to have appeared in our country as well, but participants have control over usage. The state needs to ensure that sufficient and correct information needs to be delivered to citizens \u0000so that the phenomenon of internet addiction can be treated in time and further negative consequences for the population can be avoided.

The structure of the organization or its design influences the behavior and the performance of the people who work in it. The purpose of this project is to highlight in a clear and comprehensive way the importance of effective communication which is essential to the quality, productivity and competitiveness of a modern organization.\u0000Methodology: “Qualitative research” by statistical analysis was considered appropriate, as through qualitative research dimensions of human behavior, such as perceptions, values, attitudes, beliefs and experiences \u0000of respondents, are investigated and interpreted. The population group from which information about the research project was derived consists of hospitalized patients or hospital health care applicants, with a sample of 140 Likert-scale questionnaires. The SPSS IBM Statistics 24 program was used as a research tool for the statistical analysis of the data.\u0000Conclusions: The communication satisfaction was investigated based on the fact that health is a social good and this, in itself, increases the demands and expectations of the user-recipient of the services provided by \u0000the health care system. The quality in hospitals is not just a matter of a specific process or of a part of the hospital, nor is it connected only to a person’s duties. It is obvious that there are serious communication problems in clinical practice, while the interpersonal skills of health professionals determine the patients’ satisfaction in a large scale.

The efforts to support and organise the Revolution of 1821 included organisation of structures, finding financial \u0000resources, collecting ammunition and mental preparation. However, there was no consideration concerning the medical, nursing and pharmaceutical care for the wounded combatants. The Greeks realised there is lack of medical equipment and staff right from the beginning of the Revolution. They had to nurse not only the casualties but also the people who suffered from an epidemic or other diseases. Many people who had studied Philosophy, Astronomy and other sciences also practised Medicine. However, their knowledge was limited to a naturalistic perception of the reality in the medical field. There were also quack doctors and \u0000charlatans offering health aid based on their experience. The health conditions were awful due to the constant, unexpected transportation of the military forces, the siege of forts and cities, the forced transportation of a large number of people from the countryside to fortified city centres, the constant battles, the lack of drinking water, food and medicines. Philhellenism, volunteerism, women’s contribution, financial support from the rich and strong will to be free helped in ameliorating the conditions.

The need to adapt to rapidly changing healthcare protocols and changes in the workplace compromised the mental resilience of healthcare professionals. In this psychologically damaging situation for workers, the concept of self-care is of special importance. \u0000Objective: To investigate the relationship between resilience, self-care, self-compassion and stress of the nursing staff working in a tertiary hospital in Northern Greece and to identify the factors that predict the increasement of resilience. \u0000Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out, in a convenience sample of 101 nurses working in a tertiary hospital in Northern Greece. Participants were called to fill in a battery of questionnaires that included: a) demographic-professional characteristics questions b) the Brief Resilience Scale, c) the Self-Compassion Scale, d) the Stress Scale – the Perceived Stress Scale, and e) the Self-care determination scale.\u0000Results: Participants showed moderate levels of stress and self-compassion and above average -moderate resilience. Regarding self-care, the majority presented higher values in social and professional dimension \u0000compared to the physical one. Resilience was negatively correlated with stress (p<0.001) and positively correlated with self-care (p<0.001) and self-compassion (p=0.001). Stress, self-care, and higher educational level (having a master’s degree and/or doctorate) predicted the 28.8% of the variance in resilience. A main feature of this type of addiction is that people make excessive use of the internet without being able to \u0000control it. However, prevention is possible and an early diagnosis can lead to better treatment. \u0000The purpose of the present review was to investigate the potential role of nurses in the prevention and management of Internet addiction in young populations. For this purpose, a bibliographical review was \u0000conducted, which was based on Greek and international bibliography. Primary studies and literature reviews were sought, which had been published in Greek and international scientific journals. The main tool for the retrieval of bibliography was the Internet.\u0000According to the current scientific literature, there are groups at high risk of suffering from Internet addiction, such as people with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder, low self-esteem, and at financial distress. \u0000Furthermore, current research suggests that Internet addiction can coexist with other pathological conditions, physical or mental, and its management includes counseling interventions for individuals and their social \u0000environment. The provision of information is very important in order to prevent and diagnose young people’s Internet addiction in a timely manner and to successfully manage it. Nurses can actively contribute to tackling \u0000this modern phenomenon.

Purpose: Investigation of factors influencing the fear of Primary Health Care (PHC) professionals in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the leadership model style that affects their feeling of fear. Material and Method: Non-experimental quantitative cross-sectional study of 296 health care workers of the 1st Health Region of Attica. The Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (M.L.Q. – 5X) and the fear of COVID-19 scale were used. Statistical analysis was carried out by SPSS – version 22, parametric t-test and one-way ANOVA tests were used while the level of statistical significance was set at 0.05. Results: A positive correlation of health professionals’ fear with age (p=0.016), years of service (p=0.006), fear of infection of their loved ones (p= 0.001) and the absence of psychological support (p=0.030) was found. The most prevalent leadership model is the transformational style with the most frequent use of the “Idealized Attributes” dimension (p<0.001 for all comparisons) and the leadership model to be avoided in the covid-19 pandemic is Laissez-Faire of passive style (p= 0.043). Conclusions: Fear is an important factor in managing the pandemic. It is important that health care managers should alleviate concerns, create a sense of satisfaction among healthcare professionals and at the same time ensure high quality healthcare at all stages of the crisis from escalation to resolution.
