Research demonstrates that the accumulation of toxic stress from the above mentioned experiences and situations associated with various unhealthy behaviors and the manifestation of chronic health problems later adulthood.\u0000Purpose: To highlight the nurses’ role in preventing the phenomenon of Childhood Adversities.\u0000Methodology: This literature review included peer-reviewed articles and research papers published in English during the past five years with reference to Childhood Adversity found in databases such as Pubmed, Scopus and ScienceDirect.\u0000Results: According to epidemiological data, the risk is not insignificant and negatively affects the development of children in their later life, as they become burdened both mentally and physically as adults. However, \u0000Childhood Adversities, cause epigenetic changes in genes, by affecting brain function and acting as biological markers in descendants.\u0000Conclusions: To break this vicious cycle, primary health care as well as other health care settings can help build resilient families and children. In this way, preventing the phenomenon, potential health problems \u0000are reduced and health is improved. Research questionnaires were formulated for the year 2020.The data was collected in the form of a specially designed questionnaire. The statistical analysis was performed with the software program\u0000Statistical Package for Social Sciences (IBMSPSS), version 22.0.\u0000Results: In a percentage of 70.7%, the majority of blood donors were men, aged 36-50 years old. Hemodialysis requires vascular access. But diabetics, hypertensives, as well as the elderly patients, usually have no vessels (arteries and veins) capable enough to give a satisfactory blood flow via a fistula, so the catheter is the only choice.\u0000Objective-Design: A well-functioning catheter is a prerequisite for the quality of the clearance provided. In the present study, control of the catheter patency was performed in a monthly basis. If the blood supply remained high (at least >300 ml/min) the catheter was considered to function satisfactorily.\u0000Participants-Results: The study examined the patency of permanent dialysis catheters in 34 patients (19F, 15M). The catheter survival was found to be good in all cases (100%) with a blood supply of at least >300 ml/min for 17 months. Furthermore, 75% of the catheters had a good blood supply for 20 months, while 6 catheters survived with\u0000good function for 25 months and continue to operate satisfactorily even now.\u0000Conclusion: The study found out that the method of controlling the patency of permanent dialysis catheters was easy and efficient for the timely detection of those that were malfunctioning and that the results from their use were satisfactory, compared to those of other researchers in the literature.

The sample included users of the ‘Agioi Anargiroi’ Hospital home health care service, from October 2017 to March 2018. The questionnaire included the Home Care Client Satisfaction Instrument-Revised (HCCSI-R) for assessing user satisfaction as well as the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of the participants. The statistical program SPSS v.21 was used for data analysis. The significance level of the study was set at p≤0.05.\u0000Results: The sample consisted of 121 users of the home health care service. 62.4% were female, 69.8% were older than 70 years old, 71.1% had a cancer diagnosis, 46.6% were receiving care for a period of 6 months, 38.7% had a home visit once every 15 days while their children were the informal caregivers of 58.4%. The mean score of the three questions of overall satisfaction was 9.49 in a 10-point Likert scale. The mean score\u0000of questions about satisfaction with staff behavior, attitudes and skills as well as the home care organization was 56.53 (maximum 60). In univariate analysis, the time period that users were receiving care by the service as well as care by their children, were both found to be related to the overall care satisfaction (p<0.001 and p=0.03 respectively) and the likelihood to recommend the home health care service to others (p<0.001 and\u0000p=0.03 respectively). The time period during which users were receiving care by the service was found to be positively related to the service’s ability to meet their expectations (p<0.001).\u0000Conclusions: Users of home health care nursing services are highly satisfied with the services provided.
