In order to improve the insulation level between the composite insulator and the tower and reduce the probability of bird manure flashover. Using COMSOL finite element simulation software, a three-dimensional simulation model of the electric field of the insulation blanket equalization ring of the composite insulator is established. The change of the spatial electric field distribution of the insulation blanket equalization ring under the condition of simulated bird dung is studied. The difference between the insulation blanket equalization ring and the ordinary equalization ring when the bird dung and the conductor are coplanar and heterogeneous is studied. At the same time, the influence of the insulation blanket material and thickness on the spatial electric field of the composite insulator is studied. The research results can provide certain reference for composite insulators to suppress bird manure flashover.","PeriodicalId":125983,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134158423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a non-contact and nondestructive testing method, Raman spectroscopy not only realizes the use of single wavelength laser to detect the dissolved aging features in the insulating oil, but also has the characteristics of fast detection speed and no need for extraction. In this paper, the Raman spectra of insulating oil, furfural and saturated samples are measured, and the Raman characteristic 1706 cm-1 furfural in oil is determined by comparison. The main reasons for the shift of the characteristic peaks were mainly due to the influence of the C=O bonds on the external factors, based on the simulation results. In addition, in situ test of different concentration of furfural solution is carried out, and the function relation between the ration of the peak area (I1615cm-1/ I1706cm-1) and concentration is established. The linear quantitative analysis model is obtained by using the least square method, and the minimum detection concentration can be determined to reach 2.4mg/L. The results show that laser Raman spectroscopy is an effective and convenient method for transformer aging diagnosis, and has great research value.","PeriodicalId":125983,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131804321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prediction of transformer insulation lifetime reasonably can improve the reliability of power grid and bring in economic benefits. In this paper, the transformer life correlation index (LCI) is constructed as its degradation data by fusing the multi-dimensional data including dissolved gas and polymerization degree (DP) in oil instead of existing single parameter. Then Bayesian updating and Maximum Expectation (EM) algorithm are used to update the parameters of Wiener model. To solve the problem that uncertain initial parameters of Wiener model bring stochastic error to life prediction, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed. The combined model is efficient to get the optimal solution of initial parameters to improve the prediction accuracy of remaining useful life of power transformers. A 500 kV power transformer in the field is taken as the case. The minimum loss between actual degradation path and predicted trajectory are compared and evaluated. Finally, its predicted total life is 37.96 years, which is in close to the general service life of transformers. Therefore, the PSO-Wiener model is effective for the practical application in the field.","PeriodicalId":125983,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130697067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Facing the problem of severe heat generation due to the increased integration of devices, it is important to improve the thermal conductivity of epoxy composites for practical applications. In order to reduce the interfacial thermal resistance between filler and epoxy resin, we report a method to improve the compatibility between filler and resin matrix and reduce the scattering of phonons at the interface between filler and resin by coating SiO2 on the surface of Fe3O4. Also, since the potential barrier between SiO2 and resin matrix is smaller than that between Fe3O4 and resin, the electrons is less likely to accumulate at the interface leading to local electric field distortion, and the breakdown voltage of the composite is thus enhanced. The results show that the thermal conductivity is increased by up to 320% at low filler load (30 wt%) compared with the pure epoxy resin without filler, and the breakdown voltage of the thickest SiO2-coated sample is increased by 203% compared with the thinnest sample, which effectively reduces the interfacial thermal resistance between Fe3O4 and resin and increases the breakdown voltage of the composite.","PeriodicalId":125983,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130840343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the location and diagnosis mothed of impedance discontinuities of cross interconnected HV cables have not been studied. This paper tries to use FDR method and feature time domain recovery technology to locate and diagnose cross-connected box. Firstly, the principle of local defect location and feature time domain recovery based on FDR method are described. Secondly, the reflection coefficient model of the head of cross-connected cable is derived by reflection coefficient method, which shows the feasibility of FDR method. At last, the laboratory 35kV XLPE cross-connected cable with a length of 350m was tested. The measurement of polarization and depolarization current (PDC) is a classical method used to study the health states of XLPE cables. This paper studied the effects of test voltage on the PDC measurement results and assessment parameters calculated results. The PDC tests of one new and one old cable were carried out under 2kV to 6kV with an interval of 1kV. The assessment parameters such as insulation resistance (IR), polarization index (PI), dielectric absorption ratio (DAR), dielectric loss tan δ, and ageing factor were calculated and analyzed. The results show that with the increase of test voltage, all the assessment parameters are almost independent to the test voltage for the new cable. However, for the old cable, the IR, DAR, and PI values decrease, and tan δ increase with test voltage.","PeriodicalId":125983,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133603093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the commonly employed Rolling Sphere Method (RSM) apparently seeks a streamer mode of bridging, the lightning rods above taller structures can launch upward connecting leaders. This will be very advantageous for the protection from a direct hit. The inception of a stable leader from a lightning rod is significantly influenced by its position, length, and the proximity of other lightning rods or antennas if any. This work aims to quantify the influence of the neighboring lightning mast on the stable leader launching efficacy of the mast kept at the corner of cubical structures. A simplified version of the recent physical model for the positive leader inception and propagation is employed. Considering two different structure heights and different rod lengths, the upward leader launching efficacy of lightning rod is quantified in terms of stabilization field.","PeriodicalId":125983,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Applications (ICHVE)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133697881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
