Grippers operate with industrial robots for handling and manipulation of objects. Grippers also operate with hard automation for assembling; micro assembling, machining and packaging. In this paper, a smart robotic gripper is designed and developed with vision sensor for industrial applications. This vision sensor is employed to detect the presence of the object and send the information to the robot. Gripper with two fingers has been proposed. This smart gripper adopts force sensor that mounted into the finger tip in order to control the force applied when working with wide range of objects that having different weight without slipping or crushing it. Four servo motors are used to drive the four degree of freedom (D. O. F) of a robotic arm. Basic Stamp 2 microcontroller (BS2) is used as a controller unit to control the position and the movement of the smart gripper. The selection involves trading-off multiple cardinal and ordinal criteria in an optimal fashion. Such a decision is multi-criteria in nature. “Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution” (TOPSIS) is a distance-based multi-criteria decisionmaking tool that considers both ideal and negative-ideal solutions within its feasible solution domain. In reality, ideal solution is not attainable. Therefore, TOPSIS considers the shortest Euclidean distance from the ideal solution to have a composite of the best performance values exhibited by a candidate-alternative for each of the criteria. However, TOPSIS does not have provision to allow cross-functional planning criteria evolved from the multi-functional teams of SMEs. At this juncture, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), an existing cross-functional planning technique, is suitable integrated with TOPSIS for latter’s better flexibility. The proposed methodology is validated using a benchmark problem from the literature. As an example, ten candidatesuppliers are ranked using the developed methodology considering eight disparate criteria and cost factors. Selection of the best candidate-supplier is made based upon a nondimensional selection-index containing the objective factor decision weight. This property attracts the interest of researchers worldwide in recent years. In review, most of the researcher used either Lagrange or Newton-Euler for dynamic modeling of TWIP. Thus, this paper shows the study of the TWIP system by using Kane's method. The nonlinear dynamical equations of the TWIP system were first derived using Kane's Method. In this paper our goal is to find crisis points in the roads, such as accident locations, and asphalt-destruction points, which may cause traffics along the roads. The applied method for traffic prediction is based on back propagation algorithm. In this paper the length of packets are assumed to be constant. Along the road the traffic is modeled by a Poisson Process. With this model we can produce packets. The number of packets which are sending from a typical node to the other nodes is controlled by a fuzzy system. It provides alternative means of Equal Error Protection (EEP) to the transmitted bits without increasing the bandwidth. Hierarchical Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (HQAM), a modification of QAM, provides Unequal Error Protection (UEP) to the transmitted bits for increasing the protection to the sensitive and non-sensitive bits and is also efficient in power and bandwidth. This paper presents an analysis and simulation of HQAM in order to bring out its merits over QAM. The simulation is carried out using MATLAB & Simulink for different values of modulation parameter. A Simulink-based simulation system is designed for the transmission of gray image as test image over AWGN wireless channel. The failure ratio of 11.27% was observed at the hard disk drive assembly operation. The solution approach started from identifying sub-processes, where the PCBA Assembly Process became the focus of the analysis since it presented the highest failure ratio among sub-processes. Experts were invited to be the FMEA team. Brainstorming, discussion and analyses indicated that the top three causes of failure arose from: the contact and separation events which induced electrostatic on PCBA, the change of material and packing of PCBA leading to an increase in sensitivity to electrostatic discharge, and the new design process which impacted the head resistance to electrostatic stress. The two actions to address these causes were experimented. The first solution was to implement a new process incorporating the prevention of contact and separation events, creating controlled document, and deionizing electrostatic discharge on PCBA before assembling to the hard disk drive. The second solution was to redesign magnetic reader head to enhance the resistance on electrostatic discharge flow and to improve head performance. The proposed method embedded the watermark changing the video references of the frames, with dimensions equivalent of the number of frames like width and the same height than the original video. After this process the DWTSVD watermarking is used to insert a grayscale image on the luminance(Y) of YUV converted video. VANET and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) fusion is termed as Vehicular Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks (VASNET). In VSANET, each vehicle carries an intelligent node, which senses the real phenomena and collects the required data. As the sensor nodes are installed on the vehicles, these are prone to high mobility and hence, new protocols need to be designed. Implementation of VSANET involves a lot of challenges such as, frequency allocation, standards for physical and link layers, routing, localization and security issues. In most of the proposed localization algorithms for VSANET, there is good amount of dependency on the other technologies such as Global Positioning System (GPS), which has major problems such as system not available continuously, non-availability in tunnel and not being robust enough. Therefore, GPS is not a reliable solution. In this paper, we delve further with GPS technology and discuss some of the localization algorithms. Here, we propose a novel localization protocol for VASNET which gains benefit of sensor nodes and is totally GPS free. Using GloMoSim simulator the protocol has been simulated and we observed that by varying the parameters like number of Road Side Sensors (RSS), transmission ranges and rate of well-working sensors, the exact location of a vehicle is computed in 93% cases.
