This tool is based on an interactive platform that allows the visualisation of 257 indicators in six areas. It also incorporates new functionalities for the interpretation of the results and data download. These indicators are shown from a dual perspective of analysis: territorial (according to the person's residence) and health care centre (according to the place where the care has been provided); also including their evolution over time (from 2017 to 2023). The data are visualised through tables, graphs and maps. They are accompanied by fact sheets and reports that summarise and contextualise the results, and also provide navigation guides and a search engine for indicators. The platform provides continuity with previously published data, while its new visualisation capabilities and supporting tools facilitate the monitoring and benchmarking of results for continuous improvement of healthcare.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":12494,"journal":{"name":"Gaceta Sanitaria","volume":"39 ","pages":"Article 102466"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143551476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cities, due to their physical and social environments, are particularly vulnerable to the effects of health crises. However, there are no specific preparedness and response plans for health crises in cities. Four years after the onset of the pandemic, it is crucial to identify the achievements and areas for improvement in Barcelona. For this, we used four elements: 1) crisis recognition, 2) crisis management, 3) communication and policy, and 4) prevention of future crises. Although the crisis was acknowledged, there was also a lack of preparedness to effectively address and respond to it, primarily due to the historical underfunding of public health resources. However, throughout the three years of the pandemic, notable efforts have been made in key aspects of management: the development of new technological platforms for information systems and the improvement of intersectoral coordination. New communication formats have also been developed for both internal and external channels. These elements are essential tools that require improvement to face future pandemics. The focus now shifts to integrating the lessons learned into preparedness and response plans to address future public health emergencies with a comprehensive and equitable approach in an urban setting, marking an evolution in public health response strategies.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":12494,"journal":{"name":"Gaceta Sanitaria","volume":"39 ","pages":"Article 102469"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143776845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The CAPF has proposed a three-phase reform of the economic evaluation (EE) and budget impact analysis (BIA) processes. The first phase involves the mandatory submission of EE and BIA by applicants for new drugs. The second phase involves the assessment of these submissions, coordinated by the Directorate-General for Pharmaceuticals. The third phase focuses on the application of these assessments to decision-making on drug positioning, pricing and financing. The CAPF's recommendations emphasise improved regulation, transparency and the development of methodological guidelines for economic evaluations. These proposals include a dynamic appraisal system and the creation of official NHS guidance on EE and BIA. The process is designed to ensure compliance with established criteria and to incorporate efficiency into decision-making. The initiatives of the CAPF aim to make progress towards the integration of efficiency in Spanish pharmaceutical policy seeking to improve the methodological quality and transparency of economic evaluations, ultimately contributing to more informed decision-making and sustainable healthcare practices.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":12494,"journal":{"name":"Gaceta Sanitaria","volume":"39 ","pages":"Article 102439"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143018884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
