A high-supply voltage is required to generate multiple-valued voltage signals in a current-voltage converter, and a low-supply voltage is used to generate binary voltage signals in a comparator whose speed is not decreased by the low-supply voltage. Moreover, level shifters used to prevent direct-path currents in the conventional dual-VDD CMOS circuits are not necessary to be provided because of constant current flow in the multiple-valued source-coupled logic circuits. As a result, the power consumption of a cell using dual-supply voltages for a multiple-valued reconfigurable VLSI is reduced to 79% in comparison with that of the cell using a single-supply voltage.","PeriodicalId":124947,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 43rd International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122374758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method detects moving objects from a distance distribution data. We classify the object to adults, children and other objects. The objects are extracted and clustered by fuzzy c-means clustering method. To classify the object, we calculate the height, thickness, aspect ratio and occupancy of the object as features from a sampling time. Fuzzy if-then rules and fuzzy membership functions are derived from knowledge of human and object. The system classifies the object based on fuzzy logic. Since the synthesis of minimal circuits is a cumbersome task, many synthesis algorithms apply heuristics and can therefore not provide a minimal solution. As a consequence, post synthesis methods such as window optimization and template matching are being applied. Template matching algorithms explore the circuits for gate cascades that can be replaced by smaller ones using a special class of identity circuits, so called templates. The determination of cascades applicable for substitution is the bottleneck of the template matching algorithm and problem-solving methods have been proposed in the recent past. Since these algorithms are based on heuristics, it cannot be ensured that a matching cascade can always be found. In this paper, we propose a new approach that determines matching cascades based on Boolean satisfiability and therefore ensures that these cascades are always found if they exist. Experimental results demonstrate that template matching yields smaller circuits when applying the new method for cascade determination.","PeriodicalId":124947,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 43rd International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117242259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Standby currents in a logic circuit can be cut off by using FE-based non-volatile flip-flops(NVFFs), and the standby power can be reduced to zero. The FE capacitor is accessed only when the power turns on/off, performance of the NVFF is almost as same as that of the conventional flip-flop in a logic operation. The use of complementarily stored data in coupled FE capacitors makes it possible to realize wide read voltage margin, which guarantees 10 years retention at 85 degree Celsius under less than 1.5V operation. The low supply voltage and electro-static discharge (ESD) detection technique prevents data destruction caused by illegal access for the FE capacitor during standby state. Applying the proposed circuitry in CPU, the write and read operation for all FE capacitors in 1.6k-bit NVFFs are performed within 7us and 3us with access energy of 23.1nJ and 8.1nJ, respectively, using 130nm CMOS with Pb(Zr, Ti)O3(PZT) thin films.","PeriodicalId":124947,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 43rd International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127912965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
