Questionnaires, interviews and focus group discussions were employed for data collection. Both descriptive and inferential data analyses were employed. Primarily, the study identified challenges as a combination of financial, marketing, working places, technology and internal management, and a combination of government and infrastructure challenges and constraints in descending order of severity. Together, they explained the predicted SSIs’ performance to the variance of 72.056%, whereas the remaining 27.944% of the variance was not explained by these identified sets of challenges in this particular study. Statistically, all the identified sets of challenges were significant at a 5% level. Of the identified challenges, the combined finance-related challenges were prioritised and contributed the highest influence (61.94%) variance, followed by the combined marketing-related challenges (54.61%), and other challenges and constraints were held constant. Combined working and selling outlets and technology-related challenges significantly influence (46.38%) and (33.64%) variance, respectively. Likewise, combined internal management-related challenges significantly freeze the growth of SSIs’ performance at (31.03%) variance. The combined government- and infrastructure-related challenges were found to be the least significant influencers (21.81%) in this particular study.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"1040 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114088849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this study is to determine the post-pandemic change in women’s online buying preferences. The study influenced the influence of the pandemic on e-commerce across industries to discover online women consumers’ priorities in online buying preferences. Shopping got more comfortable for consumers as a result of the availability of more digital touch points and an increase in the available time. Still, it also became more challenging for marketers to keep track of everything. Customers are continually exposed to the option to make purchases, whether on social media, reading their email, or watching YouTube videos. Because of this, marketers must create an Omni channel presence to be at the front of consumers’ minds wherever they are. Spearman correlation, ANOVA, and percentage analysis have been used for the statistical analysis. The study found that people anticipate a wide variety of alternative payment choices from online shopping as they do more and more of their shopping online. Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) industry is growing alongside general e-commerce as a whole. Nowadays, consumers expect everything to be delivered to their doorsteps. Millennials and Gen Z consumers continue to rely on influencers for product discovery and deciding which brands to believe in. Specifically, consumers now often look for recommendations from social media influencers who could only have a limited, niche audience. As consumers increasingly opt for digital channels for browsing and buying, brands need to make sure that their digital experience is on par with what someone would get in the store.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126030763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is empirical in nature and used the secondary source of data obtained from World Bank Reports for a period of 10 years from 2010 to 2019. Resolving insolvency is an explanatory variable, and entrepreneurial activity is a dependent variable. The resolving insolvency was expressed in terms of time to resolve insolvency, cost of resolving insolvency, recovery of creditors’ claims and strength of insolvency framework. Similarly, entrepreneurial activity was expressed in terms of total business density, new business density and closed business density of limited liability companies in India. It was presumed that the dimensions of resolving insolvency would influence entrepreneurial activity positively in India in a probabilistic manner. Both descriptive statistical measures, such as mean, median and standard deviation, and inferential statistical measures, such as multiple correlation and regression models, were used for data analysis. Adjusted R2 was used to test the model fitness, and Durbin–Watson test statistic was used to know whether auto-correlation exists. Eviews Statistical Software was used for this purpose. The study concludes that resolving insolvency has a positive impact on entrepreneurial activity in India but is of insignificant nature in the short run. The study further concludes that there are chances for a significant impact of resolving insolvency on the entrepreneurial activity in India in the long run. The level of significance may be increased if the number of observations and explanatory variables increases.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115113180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Green entrepreneurship is emerging as a driving force or power by offering cutting-edge green goods to the society in order to get more attention and to enhance the Indian economy. The organisation’s most recent stride is towards green entrepreneurship. The eye-catching technologies and expanding inventive trends in green entrepreneurship have given our economy a ‘new face’. A large array of techniques are still present in the globe, even if trends have drastically altered. Find a new path that nobody has utilised or a U turn from the current difficult situation if you want to keep ahead of the curve in the competitive period. Never show up to work unprepared. The uttermost enthusiasm, passion and commitment should be put into all the work. This research focuses on leaving your ‘mark’ in today’s cutthroat marketplace and offers guidance on how to avoid the frequent traps all encounter by combining passion with perseverance. Resilience comes from within, and by using the passion quotient, we may inspire, enable, motivate, empower and encourage people resources to be the greatest versions of themselves. So, this study claims that through the passion quotient, each young entrepreneur creates a new wave of greenhouse effect to retain our natural resources. The most valuable resource in a country is its human resource, particularly its youth. Therefore, addressing the issue of young unemployment demands prioritising contemporary employment policies connected with the economic environment, to which the EU is attaching growing priority, namely creating green employment in a green economy. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of passion through perceived organisation support, self-efficacy, emotional intelligence and personal signature strength and personality.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126538601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study uses primary data collected from 115 coir manufacturers of Alappuzha district by using simple random sampling. It starts with measuring the degree of mechanisation of the selected coir firms in Kerala using two indices: extent of mechanisation (EM) and mechanisation index (MI). After that, the coir industry of Kerala is categorised into four levels of mechanisation, namely, traditional firms, low mechanised firms, medium mechanised firms and high mechanised firms using MI. The study found that, majority of the coir producing firms of Kerala belongs to traditional and low mechanised levels. The firm-specific determinants of the mechanisation are identified using a Tobit regression analysis and the results reveal that, firm size, participation in promotional programmes and the average education of the labour positively influences the MI whereas, the presence of labour union inversely affects it.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121894398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps them derive benefits from the global markets. However, the ZED programme has not achieved its objectives despite the government’s effort to provide support in terms of education, training and guidance. There are just 304 ZED-certified MSMEs out of more than 60 million in India. This article advocates a blended approach that involves a combination of clean, lean and green (CLAG) operations, which has the potential to achieve the ZED target as demonstrated by many applications across the industries. Adopting the Six Sigma technique in manufacturing industries is discussed, which can deliver output with a defect rate close to zero. Usually, the CLAG approaches have been applied across different organizations individually. However, the proposed approach recommends a combination to seek superior benefits. The article provides evidence from secondary sources to justify the application of the proposed blended approach. The blended conceptual model will help enterprises achieve improved quality, reduce waste and lower environmental damage.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133920487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Women entrepreneurship development is rising in different states of India, but the growth of women entrepreneurship is relatively low in the northeastern region. Entrepreneurship development is dependent upon entrepreneurial intention, which is again contingent upon personal antecedents. The study makes an attempt to analyse the perception of college-going female students over the personal antecedents influencing entrepreneurial intention. Fifteen components influencing entrepreneurial intention have been identified and grouped under five personal antecedents to prepare questionnaire and conduct online survey. Population includes female students of colleges of Silchar town of Assam, and the sample size is 88. Relevant descriptive and inferential statistics have been used. The most influential personal antecedent triggering entrepreneurial intention is ‘Need for achievement’, which is followed by ‘Self-confidence’, ‘Risk-bearing capacity’, ‘Creativity’ and ‘Adaptability’. This study analyses the enterprises in the unorganised manufacturing sector in India most likely to face challenges based on different characteristics. The data for the study is extracted from the 73rd Round of National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) for the period 2015–2016. The aim is to identify the characteristics of unorganised manufacturing enterprises more likely to encounter problems. Logistic regression techniques have been employed for this purpose. The results show that the larger enterprises, the establishments, are more likely to face problems than the small own-account units. With odds ratios greater than one, rural sector enterprises, registered enterprises, male-owned enterprises, contracting enterprises, enterprises with accounts maintained and enterprises with government assistance have higher risks of problems. Registration status does not reduce the chances of such enterprises encountering problems. Older enterprises are less likely to face problems. Suitable policy measures designed for enterprises with specific characteristics are needed to address the problems of the unorganised manufacturing sector.","PeriodicalId":124781,"journal":{"name":"SEDME (Small Enterprises Development, Management & Extension Journal)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129501549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Coronavirus outbreak has irreparably harmed the economy, disrupted numerous systems and left it clinging to life. The current study has made a preliminary effort to unveil the challenges that pandemic has posed for city of weavers (Panipat) textile business owners in terms of their businesses and in turn whether the varied business-related roadblocks that entrepreneurs are currently managing have led them to experience stress or not. The data was gathered from 150 textile business owners in Panipat. Exploratory factor analysis and regression analysis both robust statistical tools have been deployed for analysis. It was unearthed that impression on firm’s liquidity position and employment accompanied with influence on prospective marketing strategies were the prominent cause of business-related problems for entrepreneurs that also led to stress among textile entrepreneurs with significant t-values 16.30 and 11.65, respectively. Meanwhile, the major chunk of them was discovered to be digitally capable, accepting digital knowledge rapidly and seizing possibilities by producing N95 masks and personal protective equipment (PPE).
