We can all agree that melioidosis is a dangerous sickness. The sickness is widespread in our area of Indochina, and the infection is challenging to diagnose. Many other infections have the capacity to mimic the disease and manifest it. Climate change, zoonotic risks, and epidemiological shifts are all causing new regions to becomemelioidosis endemic. To understand the true prevalence of B. pseudomallei and to stop its spread and related mortality, the One Health approach, comprising multidisciplinary teamwork, must be adopted. The infection is highly endemic in Southeast Asia. Khon Kaen, a city in northeast Thailand, has been dubbed the “capital of melioidosis” because of the high occurrence of the ailment there even though there have been few studies on the condition. In environments with few resources, source control and source identification are more challenging and are influenced by the facilities provided. Melioidosis abscesses seems to be reasonably sensitive, according to limited data. An efficient procedure is favorable. Aswas already said, melioidosis has a broad clinical spectrum. In certain circumstances, a surgical problem like an abscess presents first. Surgery for particular organ involvement along with antibiotic treatment is necessary for recovery. The authors would want to talk about the recent emergence of melioidosis in Southeast Asia in the context of COVID-19 here (GPS location 6.754848138498459, 100.8492065344826). In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic frequently makes it difficult to control endemic diseases. Since 2020, the COVID-19 has been detected in this region. Melioidosis cases are on the rise in this region in 2022, and the fatality rate is high (71.4%). It is an interesting question how melioidosis and COVID-19 are related. In patients with immunosuppressed conditions, COVID-19 has been shown to activate latent opportunistic infections, including melioidosis. Spart of humanity. Despite the fact that medical advancements have decreased their prevalence, they continue to be a major issue. Hospitalization costs are significantly raised as a result of surgical site infections. Staphylococcus aureus is one of the major pathogens that causes of surgical site infection. Antibiotic-resistant urban centers have seen the highest prevalence of S. aureus pathogen identification in hand infections, but little is known about the methicillin-resistant strains’ changing drug sensitivity profiles. However, the resistant pathogen can seriously impact clinical issues. For instance, S. aureus colonization increases the incidence of surgical site infection in heart surgery patients. In clinical settings all throughout the world, routine medication resistance monitoring has been carried out for a long time. The data from an Indochina nation regarding the distribution of vancomycin resistance in S. aureus is what the authors would like to present and discuss in this article. In short, this type of severe antibiotic resistance is linked to recurrent infections, the ineffectiveness of vancomycin treatment, and subpar clinical results. As an adaptive virus that can resist all of our therapeutic attempts, the pathogen will continue to present surgeons with challenges. It has been suggested that vancomycin is losing its effectiveness in treating severe S. aureus infections due to the decline in vancomycin treatment efficacy that is accompanied by increases in vancomycin minimum inhibitory concentration within the susceptible range (so-called minimum inhibitory concentration creep). The pattern change of vancomycin resistance in S. aureus in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak is the authors’ primary focus in this article. When tetanus toxoid was harder to come by in the past, posttraumatic tetanus rates were very high. Tetanus is a continuing issue in the tropical nations. Tetanus prophylaxis is currently included in immunization schedules in developed nations. Despite the fact that tetanus is a disease with a low incidence in the developed world due to high rates of immunization, during major natural disasters, aggravating factors such as the types of injuries, a lack of medical services and supplies, and the delay in treatment due to a low immunization rate result in an increased incidence and outbreaks of the disease that has a higher mortality rate in a less developed society. Urban doctors who treat trauma and critically ill patients must become knowledgeable about the methods for treating and immunizing patients with tetanus-prone wounds. The new developing disease COVID-19 has been affecting people throughout the world since 2019. The healthcare system is substantially impacted by this latest catastrophe. The most frequent issue is having trouble getting access to medical care. Several illnesses’ patterns may be impacted by this. Access to medical care may be problematic, which could lead to improper wound care and postexposure tetanus vaccination for prophylaxis in cases of tetanus.
