This paper has made in-depth research on power restoration for active distribution network by taking distribution network power balance, the number of DG islands and communication switch influencing factors into consideration. By setting backup communication line equivalent to DG and referring it during decision-making process, the overall scheme superiority improves. The type and control characteristics of DGs are fully investigated in the process of using DG to restore load power. This paper also researched the recovery scheme of island power supply in master-slave control mode by separating DGs into master-slave power source. The concept of two chromosome coding constraints and genome / gene sub block are proposed by adopting improved genetic algorithm to get solution and combining active distribution network structure and master-slave control mode when separating islands. It helps to realize avoiding invalid solutions as the cross and mutation operations between chromosomes are completely based on genome. Finally, simulation has been made to verify the validity of the method proposed with 3 feeder lines and 7 DGs.","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115488965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method is used to analyze the static characteristics of SRFSM by specific permeance calculations and magnetic circuit equations, and the magnetic saturation is taken into account as well. Moreover, a novel permeance model of segmental rotor is presented to improve the calculation accuracy. The VNMC method provides an effective and efficient approach for calculating the static characteristics of SRFSM with different dimensions, parameters, and conditions. A SRFSM with 12/8-pole which may offer advantages in terms of torque density and unbalanced magnetic pull is used as an example. There is a good agreement between the results of the VNMC and the finite-element analysis (FEA).","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116922798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the years, grid connected configuration have gained significant growth in solar energy systems. In present study a 5 kW dual stage grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system was modeled and simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC software. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm was implemented to extract maximum power from PV system irrespective of the environmental conditions. A control strategy to regulate the quality of grid injected current using damped Proportional Resonant (PR) controller was also implemented. The result showed that the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the grid injected current obtained within the standard range and its more feasible values were achieved. Firstly, the robust system response at step change in solar irradiations was observed, afterwards power sharing between grid and PV system was demonstrated by the simulation under varying load and irradiation levels.","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125068016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For dealing with the pulsed load, the traditional mode of operation is the indirect power supply through the flywheel energy storage as an energy medium. The pulsed load is completely isolated from the grid without electrical connection in this operation mode. So that the grid generator can not assist in energy supply. Frequent switching caused by the traditional mode can also cause the impact to the power grid stability. Correspondingly, this paper presents a new power supply operation mode, the cooperation between the flywheel energy storage and the power grid's generators, which can reduce the demand for the flywheel energy storage capacity and avoid frequent switching of grid generators. Simulation results showed that the optimized operation can run successfully.","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114174598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, for the purpose of meeting the requirement that wind farm providing reactive power to the system under the condition of a short circuit fault occurring on collector lines, a short current circuit calculation model and formula of the DFIG with a LVRT strategy with continuous excitation is established and proposed. Based on Matlab/Simulink, the model of wind farm connecting to the power system is established, by which the proposed short-circuit calculation model is verified correctly. Based on the short-circuit calculation model, the contribution of adjacent wind generators' feeding currents is studied by setting the system capacity, scale of wind farm and fault location as independent variables. From the results of simulation and calculation, with the enlarging scale of wind farms, it is essential for the current protection to take short circuit current through non-fault lines into consideration, moreover, the setting value of current protection is required to consider the actual conditions of the DFIGs in operation and adaptive protection scheme could be considered.","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117077299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is pointed that the positive sequence TEC of DFIG is in the form of controlled voltage source connected in series with constant-value impedance, which is different from traditional synchronous generator. The transient equivalent potential (TEP) is alternating and damped with time and presents the feature of rapid variation, the extent of which is aggravated along with the increase of slip and crowbar resistance. The negative sequence TEC is in the form of single impedance which is time-invariant and the value is related to slip and crowbar resistance. The validity of theoretic evaluation is verified by simulation based on Matlab/Simulink, which provides scientific basis for further study of transient equivalence of single DFIG as well as the whole wind farm.","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129663522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system consists of two parts: the series DC-DC converter part which realizes the maximum power output of the PV system and the establishment of the high voltage DC bus, and the MMC which realizes the high voltage and high power inverter. In this paper, we paid close attention on the operation principle of modular multilevel converter. Much work had been done to establish the switching state space model based on MMC and AC small-signal model. We put forward a dual-loop three-phase access strategy to grid based on carrier phase-shifted sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique to realize the significant degradation decoupling of modular multilevel converter model, in which MMC outer loop is subjected to the voltage while inner loop is subjected to the current. In this paper, an MMC simulation system with 4kV direct current bus and 5 level voltage is modeled to test the feasibility. And the stability and rapid response of the simulation model is outstanding.","PeriodicalId":123761,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130295520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
