Mathematics is one of the subjects that provides a variety of learning experiences to understand its concepts. To learn mathematics, it is required analytical, inductive, and deductive thinking abilities, a good understanding of mathematical concepts and love for the nature itself. The state of the art of learning strategy under the 2013 curriculum is reciprocal teaching. This study aims to determine whether the implementation of the reciprocal teaching approach could increase student's activity in the class of XI IPA 1 in SMA Negeri 5 Sinjai by observing the mathematics learning outcomes and student's perception toward the implementation of the reciprocal teaching approach. The subjects in this study were students from XI IPA 1 Classroom in SMA Negeri 5 Sinjai in the 2018/2019 academic year in the odd semester, with 32 students consisting of 20 female students and 12 male students. This research is classified as classroom action research which is carried out in 2 cycles. Based on the results of the reflection that was held at the end of the first cycle and made various improvements, the student learning activities and student's mathematics learning outcomes significantly increased. The achievement of student's mathematics learning outcomes in cycle II tends to be in the high-pass category in overall and all students satisfy the minimum criteria to pass.","PeriodicalId":123617,"journal":{"name":"Daya Matematis: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Matematika","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114072571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, writing to learn is one of the learning activities where the students actively write to express themselves in learning specific material/topic. This project aims to develop a learning module for students about the integers by utilizing the basic number sense framework: the six strands of number sense (Mcintosh et al., 1997) and combining it using writing to learn mathematics (Burns, 1995). The module developed using the steps proposed by Purwanto (2007) and then validated by the experts and tested to the subjects’ trial. The module was then validated by three experts who are lecturers at Sampoerna University. After validation, the module was then tested on four seventh-grade students, where the data gathered by both observation and group interview. As a result, all participants agree that the learning module is easier than what they taught at school and would recommend the module to their friends.","PeriodicalId":123617,"journal":{"name":"Daya Matematis: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Matematika","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134150160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Humans are respected. Even humans are made as the center of truth by glorifying reason and rejecting theism or supernaturalism. The earliest thinkers in education based on this notion in the modern age were John Dewey, Johann Pestalozzi, and Maria Montessori. This understanding became ligitimate after The Association of Humanistic Psychology was founded in 1962. At that time, the humanistic movement began to influence psychology, education, and the workplace. This humanistic movement also gave birth to humanistic psychology with a character, Abraham H. Maslow. Maslow’s Theory of Needs, then had a significant effect on education, especially in the development of learning theories, including andragogy, transformational learning, and independent learning. Maslow’s humanistic learning theory encourages innovation and creativity. It is believed in this theory that everyone is responsible for their own learning as well as learning from those around them. This theory encourages students to be in a supportive and safe environment, so they are comfortable asking questions and exploring new concepts and possibilities. This theory states that the best learning occurs when the whole person (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) is involved, taking into account the totality of human experience. This theory has also drawn criticism. Some experts think that this theory is not based on rigorous scientific experience. Meanwhile, other experts review the philosophy that underlies this theory from the context of values, religion, culture and ideology of the Indonesian nation. However, the learning theory built on the philosophy of humanism can also be applied in mathematics education. A good example of this is the differentiation of mathematics learning. Through this learning differentiation, all students learn in different ways and according to their level of difficulty in understanding mathematical concepts. In other words, each student gets treatment according to his or her need","PeriodicalId":123617,"journal":{"name":"Daya Matematis: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Matematika","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125998464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were 3 students of MTs Al-Hamid Class IX who were selected as representatives of the very good problem-solving ability category, the problem-solving ability level category was sufficient, and the problem-solving ability level category was lacking. The data collection technique used was a test consisting of 4 non-routine items and interviews. The results of the analysis can be obtained: (1) students with excellent problem-solving abilities are able to fulfill the 4 steps of solving according to their pattern but there are errors in understanding the problem in question 1. (2) students with sufficient problem-solving skills are only able to solve problems in question 1 and 2 while 3 and 4 there are errors in understanding the questions. (3) students with poor problem solving skills were only able to solve problems in question 2, while in questions 3,4 and 5 there were errors in understanding the questions. The student error factor is due to the lack of understanding of the concept of geometric transformation to do the test because the geometric transformation test questions given are non-routine, while the geometric transformations that are often encountered only substitute formulas without understanding the concept of geometric transformation which includes translation, reflection, rotation and dilation. Many have to do with everyday life so that students experience difficulties in what is meant in the questions, especially in questions 3 and 4.","PeriodicalId":123617,"journal":{"name":"Daya Matematis: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Matematika","volume":"43 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114050431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
