We propose a disruption-tolerant authentication architecture based on the combination of certificate-based authentication and the centralized authentication system called Delegate Authentication System (DEAS) to improve the performance and stability of eduroam. Being able to automatically retrieve CA (Certificate Authority) certificates and Certificate Revocation Lists, the proposed system can significantly reduce the authentication request exchanges across countries and is tolerant of temporary service interruptions of the network as well as of RADIUS proxies.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133964803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, predicting cross-domain scientific collaboration problem is rarely studied and collaboration recommendation methods within single domain cannot be directly utilized for solving cross-domain problems. In this paper, we propose a Hybrid Graph Model, which combines both explicit co-author relationships and implicit co-citation relationships together to construct a hybrid graph and then Random Walks with Restarts concept is used to measure and rank relatedness. The experiments with large publication data set show that Hybrid Graph Model outperforms some baseline approaches on several recommendation metrics. Citation information has been demonstrated to be very helpful for scientific collaboration recommendations as well.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133105769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the current eduroam system, many institutions authenticate users by ID and password. However, the demands for authentication by client certificates are increasing for higher security and usability reasons. High complexity in the certificate issuing and distribution process at each institution can be a great problem. In this paper, we propose a centralized client certificate issuing system using Delegate Authentication System (DEAS). In addition, we develop online sign-up system for DEAS since manual ID distribution is imposing heavy burden to the institutional administrators in the current DEAS. The proposed systems are effective also for the disruption-tolerant authentication architecture, which realizes more stable and efficient eduroam system.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133269012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electric function (with ECG) and mechanical function (with ICG) of the heart can be monitored simultaneously and continuously. Based the RR serials computed from ECG waveform, the sympathetic and parasympathetic function of the automatic nervous system can also be monitored at the same time. The physical activity is monitored with a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope chip on the sensor board. The physical activity data is very important because heart rate and cardiac output etc has different standard value under different movement intensity conditions. Hemodynamic parameters such as stroke volume (SV), cardiac output (CO) and cardiac index (CI) can be estimated according to Kubicek Formula by extracting characteristic points and characteristic periods of the ICG Signal. CI is CO divided by body surface area. CI is comparable among people because it is not influenced by the body height and body weight. The detection accuracy has also been validated with a commercial patient monitor from Mind Ray company, the correlation coefficient is 0.83.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133623630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the context of heterogeneous specification environment, it is a fundamental step to represent differents model oriented specifications and algebraic specification languages with an institution. To this end, we give a representation of Event-B specification where we focus on the signatures, the models and the sentences. Instead of reasoning about structuring primitives and details when composing different specification languages, we aim to formulate model oriented specifications independently from its underlying logic. We reach our aim with the use of institution theory.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129248256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Development and maintenance of complex application systems are linked to challenges that have a strong influence of a straight course of the project. In this context, it means factors of influence that affect in different manner and intensity the success of the project. Because these factors of influence and their effects are mostly unknown at the beginning of the project, they are considered insufficiently during the planning phase. In this context, expert interviews are chosen as the method for determining the influencing factors. It is a matter to structure these factors categorically to provide a basis for the systematic transfer of identified future influences into the model. This structure should serve as a foundation for the development of influencing factors whose basic description is carried out exemplarily. Another goal is to develop an empirical analysis whereby a coupling of these factors and project-specific surveys should be reached.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117093708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wearable devices and ambient devices are also getting popular and can easily access the Internet through smart devices. Although smart devices have incredibly advanced functionalities, their I/O is poor because of their small size. Peripherals are able to compensate for the shortcomings, but currently there is no unified methodology to gather and integrate given devices. We have developed a customizable Web-based system in which services in the Cloud can federate smart devices and peripherals. The proposed system uses Web based technologies to coordinate between cloud services and the devices at hand. The main benefit is that Web application developers can create an entire system since the configuration and operation of all devices are describable only in JavaScript. We have also separated the device functionality from the application logic, thus enabling parallel development. We implemented a prototype system using Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and found that it could be easily used to develop a system that emulates a POS terminal. The proposed architecture enables developers to flexibly utilize the Web of Things.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122696174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its counterpart, Steganalysis, is the study of methods that uncover information in a suspicious file, which has being altered for stego purposes. Its techniques rely on the inspection of changes at the pixel information level. In this paper, we propose a method for Secret-key Steganography that uses a picture to conceal a message with unaltered pixel information, so it would be secure against Steganalysis inspection techniques. This is possible using a technique derived from code obfuscation using random numbers. In summary, we will modify the stego-key transmitted during the communication process, which maps the information in the unaltered cover image. So the original message will be reconstructed by the receiver using the seeds of Pseudo-Random Number Generators, included in the stego-key. The proposed technique is secure against classical steganalysis attacks because it leaves the original and generated stego images unchanged.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116760918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
