Tumor pathology in children is frequently encountered in children and over several years, an increase in these pathologies has been observed among the pediatric population. Early treatment versus delayed diagnosis is a problem in the pediatric population. Objective of the study. Analysis of tumor markers in the diagnosis and prognosis of tumors in children. Materials and methods. 88 blood samples were analyzed in which tumor markers were determined in children with tumors located in different anatomical areas of the body. They were analyzed. Oxidative stress indices, thiol-disulfide metabolism indices, antioxidant system indices, inflammatory markers were analyzed. The study was carried out within the State project “Modern personalized surgery in the diagnosis and complex treatment of tumors in children” 2020 2023. Results. Inflammatory markers showed significant values in children with tumor processes. VEGF in both malignant and benign tumor processes was observed with significant deviations. In the environment for benign tumor processes being 140,876 ± 34.68 pg/ml and for malignant ones 79.12 ± 15.14 pg/ml. The largest deviation was detected in tumor processes in the abdominal region, being 246.21 ± 34.14 pg/ml, and the smallest being in malignant processes, 79.12 ± 15.14 pg/ml. Conclusion: Inflammatory markers can be early diagnostic indicators of tumor pathology in the pediatric population.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"44 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141403374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose. Evaluation of the particularities of diagnosis and treatment of patients with jaw anomalies in sagittal plane. Material and methods: 22 patients aged between 20 and 46 years, during the period 2016—2021. The surgical stage occurred in stationary conditions, and the clinical and paraclinical evaluation of the patients took place in dental clinic through photostatic examination, study models, radiological examination, intraoral scanning. Results: Predominance of patients with skeletal Class III (77.3%), compared to Class II (22,7%). Osteotomies used: Le Fort 1 for maxilla, osteotomy of the mandibular ramus Obwegeser — Dal Pont for the lower jaw and genioplasty for repositioning the chin. The unavoidable surgical trauma for the correct positioning of the jaws leads to intraoperative hemorrhages, hematomas and postoperative conditions acceptable from the point of view of the endured trauma. Conclusions. The orthodontic–surgical treatment is a safe method of rehabilitating patients with anomalies in sagittal plane, with postsurgical results superior to intraoperative risks and complications.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"39 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140525807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aim of this study is to investigate the accuracy and trueness of digital full arch dental impressions in comparison to a conventional dental impression procedure in clinical application. This study was conducted in the department of stomatological propaedeutics “Pavel Godoroja” at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” and Smiles for Miles Dental Office Modesto, California. The preferences of 20 patients with full dentition were analyzed and compared regarding the use of conventional and digital impression techniques. Patients were requested to complete a comparative questionnaire in regards to their experience with each technique. The results of the comparative questionnaire presented show that 100% of patients preferred the digital impression technique when given the option for either impression. Through the questionnaire, it was determined that the comfort and satisfaction of patients was greater in the digital impression technique. Digital impression was less invasive and did not require the scanner to be placed in the mouth to the depth of the conventional impression tray. The intraoral scanner did not have any unpleasant odors or trigger gagging reflex.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"63 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140524964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Digital technologies are constantly evolving. The development of digital technologies helps the practician in establishing a precise diagnosis and creating a treatment plan. Digital documentation offers the possibility of simulating different treatment outcomes. Therefore, having the final result in mind, the doctor initializes a predictable, precise and guided treatment. The final position of teeth guides the insertion of the implant and dictates the necessity of surgical procedures aimed at soft tissue remodeling. Simultaneously with the development of implantology, there have evolved diagnostic tools and technologies in realization of the prosthetic components. The implant — prosthetic treatment of partial edentation restores the integrity of the dental arch offering an aesthetic and functional aspect, without the need to prep the teeth limiting the edentulous breech [16]. With the help of digital technologies we diagnose, analyse, simulate and guide the treatment stages [11, 17]. The digital impression represents a major progress in dental medicine, offering the possibility of a higher quality of dental services and is used as an alternative technique to traditional impressions.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"26 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140520575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the opinions are divergent while the obtained results often are unfavorable due to bone loss and mucosal recessions. An alternative for postextractional placement is early type 2 implants placement. The study was based on results evaluation of 51 implants insearted in early period after teeth extractions (type 2) in one surgical step, using flapless surgery, without removing the socket content. For evaluation of healing process in the socket, histological analyses of it’s content were performed at 2, 4 and 8 weeks periods. The obained results showed that early implant placement type 2 is a safe method with an integration rate similar to the conventional method. The presence of healed soft tissues is an advantage upon the postextractional placement. The preservation of socket primary matrix lead to a good bone healing around implants without necessity of grafting.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"72 3-4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140516479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a long period of time, people have made attempts to explain the nature of the biological process responsible for possibility of artificial tooth displacement. Along with the development of methods of laboratory investigation, more and more facts about the periodontal tissues’ response to exogenous mechanical stimuli have been revealed to the scientific community. This, in turn, led to the formation of many theories and hypotheses to explain the mechanism of orthodontic tooth movement. Although a wealth of information concerning the biological processes occurring during exposure to orthodontic appliances is now known, no one is yet able to describe the exact mechanism that triggers these processes. Current studies focus on several morpho–biological theories of orthodontic tooth movement, which indicates that there is a cognitive interest in this topic among orthodontists.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"20 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140521253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is important to strengthen the capabilities of the medical staff, including dentists, during the pandemic crisis. In this context, it is necessary to mention that dental care in the 21st century is subject to significant changes related to the health status of the population, to the increasing right of being informed about available medical services (including emergency) and one’s own health, the right to confidentiality of information and the patient’s privacy. Regarding research as a priority issue in medicine, the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Welfare Viorica Dumbrăveanu declared the following: “The reform in the field of science has failed”. We must all take on this responsibility and come up with a substantial motivation for those who, in addition to medicine, are doing science in the field of health. The composition of health research is incomparable with other fields. All are important, but we have seen, in the crisis situation, that health is a priority. Greek-American physician John Ioannidis, a professor of medicine at Stanford University, outlined that science was in crisis. This phenomenon can have dramatic consequences in areas such as medicine, where new studies affect the diagnosis and treatment of sick people, as pressure is applied to publish much to the detriment of quality and as a result most academic papers published in recent years are exaggerated or false. The coronavirus pandemic is more than coronavia health crisis, with unprecedented socio-economic implications and the power to generate devastating social, economic and political effects. The United Nations (UN) and other partners are already working on three medical priorities: supporting science, guided by the World Health Organization (WHO), strengthening crisis management and response, and addressing critical social and economic impacts. The COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge that offered a hard lesson to the Republic of Moldova, meant to turn the political class towards the health system, primarily its staff, concluded at a meeting with the leadership of SUMPh “Nicolae Testemitanu” with the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Veronica Dumbrăveanu. Thus, the coronavirus pandemic has a major impact on health and represents a significant influence on the socio-economic situation in most countries and in the Republic of Moldova.","PeriodicalId":122574,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Stomatological Medicine","volume":"7 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140519592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
