Further, the level of distress based on demographic factors such as education level, age, occupation, income level and period of marriage was planned to identify. Sample size was 393 infertile women visited the Fertility Clinic at Castle Street Hospital. The infertile women with lower level of education, lower income level, older age and longer married life without children were found to be highly distressed. Further, there was no significant relationship between the PCC and distress level among infertile women. The distress level of infertile women visiting Castle Hospital Sri Lanka cannot be reduced through PCC initiatives in the hospital and the factors of age, educational level, family income level, duration of married life and employment could have determined the level of distress.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":" 18","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139141759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of broiler farming on the socio-economic development of farmers in West Lombok. The research was conducted in a purposively selected sample of three sub-districts in West Lombok. A total of 15 farmers respondents were classified into two groups: (1) farmers who rear 2,000-5,000 broiler chickens, and (2) farmers who rear more than 5,000 broilers. This research employed a qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis for data analysis. The study revealed that broiler contract farming in West Lombok generated an average net income of IDR /US$ 6,416,437/404.235 per period for a rearing scale of 2,000-5,000 birds, and IDR/US$ 32,430,784/2,043.139 per period for a rearing scale of more than 5,000 birds. This income has a significant impact on family earnings, accounting for an average of 78.7% on a rearing scale of 2,000-5,000 birds and 79.2% on a rearing scale of more than 5,000 birds. The correlation coefficient between the net income of a broiler contract farming and family income exhibits a strong positive relationship, with a value of 0.964. The broiler chicken farming operated by farmers appreciates positive reception from the local community. This is demonstrated by the job opportunities provided to residents and the active involvement of farmers in constructing places of worship and organizing village events. As a result, a harmonious relationship between farmers and the community has been achieved.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":" 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139137653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, language used in this type of media has continued to evolve. In order to better understand the way public discourse around the trans community has changed, this study uses a linguistic analysis of newspaper articles from the ten most widely circulated newspapers in the United States. A sampling of articles from each year from 1990 to 2023 was analyzed using the Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) program to capture the authors’ attitudes. Correlation analyses were used with the LIWC categories to explore if any of the linguistic terms changed over the study period. In addition, change in the use of the terms “transsexual” and “transgender” was tracked over the same 34 year period. Results showed a statistically significant decrease in negative language used in articles about transgender people over time and a significant change in the use of the terms “transsexual” vs. “transgender”. Linguistic changes in these newspaper articles parallel changing attitudes about the trans community in mainstream American culture at large.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":" 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139138958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, it described describe the socioeconomic characteristics, estimate the socioeconomic factors that determine the net marketing income, determines the profitability, the economic efficiency, and examines the constraints to garden egg leaf marketing. A multistage and random sampling procedure was used to select 160 respondents for the study. Data were collected from primary sources and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, enterprise budgeting, multiple regression, and relative importance index. Findings from the result show that the majority of the marketers are within the age limit of 25-35 years (56.25%), presence of female dominance, and a high percentage of marketers who sell both in the market, hawk in the street, events, and offices. Out of 12 independent variables included in the model, age, branding of product, education, household size and mode of delivery statistically and significantly influenced the net marketing income earned by the marketers. Profitability indicators such as net marketing income, return on investment, net return on investment, and coefficient of marketing efficiency of N441, 336.63, 1.3, 0.28, and 77% proved the enterprise profitable. The implication of the net return on investment figure is that the marketers return 28 kobo for every 1 Naira invested in the enterprise. The findings show that the perishable nature of garden egg leaf, inadequate price control, and hazards associated with hawking were perceived as the most serious constraints. Underage children should be encouraged to desist from street hawking especially during school hours also there is a need to address the activities of middlemen by relevant stakeholders to combat the price fluctuation in the marketing of garden egg leaves.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":"44 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139203094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methotrexate is a folic acid analogue and an antimetabolite used for the treatment of many diseases.. Alpha lipoic acid is a nutritional coenzyme with important physiological effects in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Polyphenol oxidase is an oxidoreductase containing copper in its active site and oxidizes phenolic compounds. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Alpha lipoic acid on the polyphenol oxidase enzyme activity in the spleen tissue in removing the damage caused by the free radicals produced by Acitretin and Methotrexate at the cellular level. Materials and Methods: Study groups were formed as Control , Alpha lipoic acid , Acitretin+Methotrexate and Acitretin+Methotrexate+Alpha lipoic acid groups. Rats who were starved for 24 hours were injected at the every morning. Acitretin, Methotrexate and Alpha Lipoic Acid were dissolved in 0.9% NaCl and given to rats by intraperitoneal injection. Rats were sacrificed by cervical dislocation on the 7th day after injection. After perfusion of the heart, the spleen was removed. Extracted spleen tissue samples were used for polyphenol oxidase enzyme activity determination. Results: Results: Compared with groups Control; While 18% inhibition was observed in the Alpha lipoic acid group, 20% inhibition was observed in the Acitretin + Methotrexate group. When Alpha lipoic acid was added to the Acitretin + Methotrexate group, while 19% activation was observed according to Control, 1% activation was observed compared to the Acitretin+Methotrexate group. Although there were differences between the groups, these differences were not statistically significant. Conclusion: The inhibition of PPO enzyme activity by ALA can be explained by the fact that while ALA alone acts as a radical scavenger that can regenerate substances with antioxidant properties in the spleen tissue, when given in combination, it acts as an antioxidant that triggers PPO activity.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":"39 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139206439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most energy-intensive process in the entire technological cycle of caring for grain crops is soil processing, on which 50-60% of fuel is spent on average. The most energy-intensive process in the entire technological cycle of caring for grain crops is soil processing, on which 50-60% of fuel is spent on average Raising the care of cereal crops by 30-60% is achieved as a result of the intensification of mechanized work. The use of modern technical means in the restoration and construction of the country's reclamation systems is incredible without knowing their operating indicators, the main characteristics and parameters of the car; Water resources on the territory of Georgia are unevenly distributed: 1.34 million m3/km2 per year for western Georgia and 0.37 million m3/km2 for Eastern Georgia. Therefore, it is necessary to arrange irrigation systems in the eastern and southern regions of the country, and in the west - drainage systems. Therefore, the paper proposes two-rotor channel machines imported into Georgia, which allow the withdrawal of open channels to a depth of up to 1.45 m, which is used mainly for drainage and irrigation. The parameters of the working body of the rotary channel plugs, the determination of engine power and the hatching of the base car are calculated.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":"42 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139197088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective is to analyze gender participation in the Groundnut Value Chain (GVC) among households under the USAID-GUP. A multi-stage sampling procedure selected 100 (56 male and 44 female) GVC participants, and 100 (84 male and 16 female) non-participants using the snowball sampling method in the non-participating LGAs (NPLGAs). The objectives were achieved with a descriptive and inferential Chi-square. The findings show that female participants dominate processing activities (72.7%) in the PLGAs, while males dominate production (92.9%). In the NPLGAs, 90.5% of males and 75.0% of females are involved in production. Informal sources are the main credit providers for both PLGAs and NPLGAs. Male participants in both PLGAs and NPLGAs cultivate more of an improved groundnut variety (Samnut – 22), with 64.3% and 70.5% of males and females in PLGAs and 59.5% and 56.3% of males and females in NPLGAs sourcing their land through inheritance. The average mean household income is higher for males (₦892,410.71 and ₦1,008,907.14) compared to females (₦531,386.36 and ₦495,000.00) in both PLGAs and NPLGAs, respectively. Significant differences between male and female categorical variables are observed at different nodes of the GVC in both PLGAs and NPLGAs, including input supply, groundnut production, harvesting, post-harvest handling, marketing, processing, and household chores. In conclusion, the study finds that the USAID-GUP activities, which aimed to promote gender equality, have not fully bridged gender inequalities in all GVC nodes. Gender equity amongst GUP participants has not been fully achieved. The study recommends addressing social and cultural rigidities to enhance gender equity participation in GVC nodes and effectively implement programs.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139201520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researchers collected data from 400 smallholder rice farmers (200 seeds and 200-grain farmers) using a multi-stage sampling technique. The findings indicate that 56% of the grain farmers and 50% of the seed farmers are male. The average age of grain farmers is 44.14, while seed farmers have an average age of 37.08, suggesting that seed farmers tend to be younger. Additionally, a high percentage of both grain (87.0%) and seed (73.5%) farmers are married. In terms of production methods, 37.0% of grain farmers use broadcasting, while 51.5% of seed farmers practice direct seed sowing. The rest of the seed farmers (48.5%) use nursery and transplanting methods. The profitability index shows that seed production is more profitable than grain production, with indexes of 84.0% and 79.6%, respectively. The factors impeding rice farmers from maximizing their profits are classified into three categories: economic factors, institutional factors, and management factors. Economic factors include poor access to information and scarcity of labour during the farming season. Institutional factors involve high input costs and expensive machinery. The study also highlights cattle-related issues as a management factor that threatens rice farming in both enterprises. Based on the findings, the study recommends the development of a comprehensive agricultural policy to address the challenges identified, taking into account limited resources and the need for improved information access, affordable inputs, and effective management strategies.","PeriodicalId":122395,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Technology Research Archive","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129604363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
