In this paper, we consider a full-duplex relay-assisted AF cooperation model. For it, we analyze the fading-averaged symbol error probability (FA-SEP). Specifically, we derive an expression for exact FA-SEP. To get more insights, we derive tractable upper bound for the exact FA-SEP. Furthermore, we extend our analysis and derive asymptotic FA-SEP in a scaling regime. Finally, we present numerical results to validate our analysis. Our analysis of FA-SEP provides a theoretical benchmark and is useful for analyzing more complex cooperative systems employing multiple full-duplex AF relays.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134623461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has found applications in power spectrum estimation, beamforming, direction-of-arrival estimation, and system identification. However, the use of coprime samplers for cross-correlation estimation has not received much attention. We describe cross-correlation estimation using co-prime samplers and consider two scenarios. In the first, both signals are acquired using co-prime samplers, while in the second scenario we assume one of the signals to be a known signal and thus available at the Nyquist rate, and the second signal is acquired using a co-prime sampler. We determine the number of contributors available for cross-correlation estimation at each difference value as this is a key parameter in determining the estimation accuracy. The work presented in this paper will have applications in time-delay, range, velocity, acceleration, and cross-spectrum estimation, which require cross-correlation estimation.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116973631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Majority of the data is in the form of multimedia which can be protected through various encryption techniques. In this paper, we propose an encryption technique for images which is hybrid of Lorentz attractor and Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA-2) applied on separated bit planes of the image. Our research utilize the chaotic nature of the Lorenz attractor and has significantly improved the entropy, which is an important parameter to measure the randomness. We also introduce a new method of implementing chaotic scheme. SHA-2 and Lorentz attractor are used to generate the key matrix. Bit-plane slicing is carried out on the plain image to decompose it to 1- D data and then X-OR operation with the key matrix is performed. The encrypted file is subjected to various analysis and attacks. The results demonstrate that the algorithm is resistant to various known attacks along with desirable security performance. Both encryption and decryption in the proposed algorithm are loss less. The proposed algorithm shows significant increase in Entropy, improved differential attack analysis results, desirable histogram and are comparable with the state of the art algorithms.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122072011","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though the centralized network control provides several advantages, attacks toward SDN framework remain as a challenge. In this paper, we propose a method based on machine learning to detect Denial of Service (DoS) attack in data plane devices, i.e., the OpenFlow switches, resulting from flow-table overflow. We created an SDN dataset using Mininet and features are extracted from switch-controller communication trace as well as flow-table snapshots of OpenFlow switches. Further, we use three algorithms, (i) Neural Network, (ii) Support Vector Machines, and (iii) Naive Bayes, to classify the network to either malicious or benign. The results show that neural network and Naive Bayes provide 100% accuracy with the extracted features.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129543454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Software-defined networking (SDN) has provided many network solutions in the electrical counterpart. SDN for optical networks can provide new opportunities to make the above mentioned tasks easier and faster. As a first step towards this goal, we develop an optical network description language (ONDL). We use it to describe various network components, and their configuration and run-time states, such as modulation schemes, wavelength and spectral-width of a transponder, switching matrix of an optical switch etc. The language is based on resource description framework (RDF). Furthermore, we develop a controller which understands and sends instructions in this language to different network devices to provide/change their states. We show the applicability of ONDL by simulating a network, controlling and managing its nodes using ONDL and developed controller.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127132594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The past values of both the state and the received symbols are strictly causally made available to the encoders at each instant. The capacity region for the noiseless case, without any feedback, was recently solved in literature. Here we study the model with noise as well as feedback. We propose a communication scheme which effectively utilizes the feedback symbols as well as the state information to enhance the achievable region. In particular, Wyner-Ziv binning on the state information and Ozarow feedback scheme for the MAC are effectively utilized, using a suitable interleaving technique. The antenna is compact and occupies less space (60mm×60mm×l.6mm) and suitable for low cost PCB fabrication techniques. The orthogonal circular polarizations on the opposite sides of the antenna are achieved essentially by placing the two perpendicular monopoles of almost same dimensions along with strategically shaped ground. The role of the dimensions of the ground plane, monopole and asymmetry in producing orthogonal fields is explained. The simulated impedance bandwidth is 77% and axial ratio bandwidth of (AR<3 dB) 20% is achieved. The antenna could possibly be useful in the severe multipath wireless environments. The common bandwidth of 20% is achieved for circular polarization.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132953154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though ground infrastructure is directed towards supporting the high bandwidth needs in developed regions, the remote and isolated areas remain devoid of such services. This has led to the evolution of High Throughput Satellite (HTS) systems to deliver uniform broadband connectivity to the developed as well as the unconnected and remote regions. HTS supports a vast range of user requirements like video-on-demand, high data rate corporate links, content distribution/back-haul links from small user terminals. These satellites are capable of providing large system throughput as compared to the conventional Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) and Broadcast Satellite Service (BSS) satellites due to the use of multi-beam architecture and large system bandwidths. In this paper, the concept, design and features of a High throughput satellite system are discussed and the payload configuration for a geostationary Ka-band HTS over Indian region is presented. With 1 GHz of total user spectrum in forward as well as return links, the Indian Ka-band High Throughput Satellite will provide ~ 80 Gbps of overall throughput with 72 spot beams over India.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132053571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is based on the convex combination of two adaptive filters which gives the best of convergence speed and steady-state error. The overall cost of proposed filter is reduced by realizing both the adaptive filters using DA with serial implementation of look-up table (LUT). Compared to the best existing scheme, the proposed filter involves significantly less number of adders and registers without any multiplexers in LUT. The convergence performance of proposed filter is improved by selecting two step-sizes, in the orders of $O$(1/ N), where $N$ is filter order. Hence, it provides a low complexity approach to design DA based pipelined adaptive filter for improved convergence. Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) results show that a 16th order proposed ADF with 4th order base unit occupies 21.98 % less area and consumes 17.4 % less power as compared to best existing scheme.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130954843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various parameter estimation techniques have been developed to estimate heart parameters. In this work, we use Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF) and Particle Filter (PF) for dynamic assimilation of human heart parameters. EnKF and PF are modified filters specifically designed for state prediction of nonlinear systems with large data samples. A third order mathematical heart model is used to estimate three heart parameters that includes movements of heart muscle fiber, tension in heart muscle and electrochemical activity of the heart. EnKF and PF are applied to heart model and different case studies are performed to observe the prediction accuracy by comparing sum squared error values. Case studies are performed with variable state and measurement noise values. The proposed approach demonstrates promising results in accurately predicting the human heart parameters.","PeriodicalId":121544,"journal":{"name":"2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125599403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
